I also love the fact that he has more responsibilities leading his country at such a young age, and having to show the way with confidence.
These FIBA tournaments are another opportunity for our non American young players to progress a lot during the off-season, because their American counterparts usually don’t have the opportunity to make the US team at such a young age, let alone be a leader or an impactful starter in their national team.
They play with other experienced players with a different playstyle, and different coaches, which is always a new opportunity to learn and expand their game.

Did his hitch got worse? Or am I imagining things?

It’s not the hitch, which is explainable because he’s rebuilding his shot. It’s the fact he’s pushing it instead of flinging it. That’s not how shooting is taught or learned.

Slow AF release, still has that hitch. But if he can make 35% or more, even if they’re easy and open, and even on low volume…good enough for now.

I keep reading “hitch” on forums and threads, but have no idea wtf that is. What is it, in reference to shooting?

IMO the shooting form is better, but that hitch *or more like hesitation?* when he’s about to take the shot needs to be polished. He’s on the right track, but just need to smooth it out for a more fluid motion. Sochan has showed a lot of commitment in his development, I still believe in him. *And besides he’s only entering his 3rd year in the league, it’s too early to give up on him.*

This reminds me of what happened to Charles Barkley’s golf swing after he started trying to ‘improve’ it. Lol.
