Brandon Ingram Trade Talks Have ‘Intensified’

so the report we’re hearing right now is that the Brandon Ingram trade talks have intensified so I want to hear your thoughts Down Below in the comments section what do you guys expect with Brandon Ingram and it’s because they are unable to find a common ground on an extension between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Zach I me new orle Pelicans and Brandon Ingram according to Mark Stein of the Stein line a reputable reporter I want to hear your thoughts down below do you think the Pelicans will keep him or do you think a team like the Kings who have been frequently linked to him or going to trade for him now before we start why is Brandon Ingram someone who could be traded now as much as we heard Brandon Brandon Ingram himself would like to stay the Pelicans would like to keep him the problem is the money the money and Brandon Ingram is a guy that at this point in his career he probably knows that if this he he wants to get as much money as he can on this contract because depending on how he performs his that contract could be significantly less or different as he’ll be getting older and this is the prime so this should be his baddest deal and he’s a guy that the problem is the Pelicans over the last few seasons with Zion Williamson being out with injury it was kind of Brandon’s team Brandon’s never played more than like 65 games in his career since his rookie here and this was Brandon’s team kind of but then Zion’s been relatively healthy y this this past year and from half of last year and when we saw it just slowly became Zion Steam and Zion taking it serious so they want to build around Zion they believe in him and the it’s clear that Zion’s ceiling is higher than Brandon’s even though Brandon is an All-Star maybe the borderline all NBA at best now the Pelicans are expected to trade Brandon Ingram then sign Trey Murphy the third two in contract extension also improved their options at the center of this offseason after previously tra for dejon Murray and that the attempts to trade Brandon Ingram has intensified as Ingram has one season remaining on his contract this year the the Sacramento Kings are among the teams interested for Brandon Ingram who’s represented by Jeff Schwarz and Jordan G girtler in 64 games with the Pelicans last season or Ingram averaged 21 points 55 rebounds 5.7 assists in 33 minutes a night the Kings have also been involved in the Kyle kma and Larry marinin rumors Alvin Gentry who now works in the front office and former former Kings coach is coached Ingram with the Pelicans earlier in his career however one thing I do want to point out is that Gentry could end up in Los Angeles now just to give you an idea the the current so the agent for Brandon Ingram represents like Chris Al porzingis Matt Mark Richards Nick Nick Richard Mark Williams Nick Richards Dwight Powell Jamal Murray Nicole yic Kate Cunningham Russell Westbrook Tyler hero Pat conington Chris Middleton CJ McCollum gam Wallace Isaac auro Kelly oen you know stuff like that so for so he’s got he got a pretty well involved agent and what we’re going to go over here and do at this point I really think it’s only the Kings they’re that they’re potentially doing business with at as I just don’t see another team really going into business for Brandon Ingram and with that being said let’s go ahead and talk about what that deal could look like so you trade Brandon Ingram I really think at the end of the day guys I’ve said it before I’ll say it again I truly truly truly believe that it’s the Kevin herder Harrison Barnes package and a pick okay and a pick and then somebody could be like but they don’t need Harrison or they don’t need Kevin so with that I say first off this is what the trade would look like normal cuz I know people are going to be like well they need I think it’s works out for both sides you save a million dollars if you’re the Pelicans you also get Kevin H or Harrison Barnes on cheaper deals that you could flip and a pick Kings get there and this is what the king’s been wanting to move that’s I think that’s the most realistic deal now someone would be like well what if they don’t want both those contracts and they still need a a center that’s fine let’s call up the Blazers and we’ll call up the Blazers and we’ll say hey Portland we know you have bigs so how does Robert Williams and I think at this point could you pull wreath off their hands for for example and you relocate who I think the the the Pelicans would rather have Kevin herder you trade that to the Blazers and what if you say what if you just send the Blazers that pick you just say here’s that you walk away with a deal like this this doesn’t have to happen but there you rebuilt your your your bench I don’t know why this also is not showing there we go you walk away the the deal is Harrison Barnes and the the first round pick go to the Blazers Kings get Brandon ingr Kevin herter Robert Williams and dup wath to the Pelicans you you rebuild your front Court you get an insurance policy in wreath and then you have a a center in Robert Williams who could be really good for you guys who fits perfectly and you keep Kevin herder who’s a three-point shooter which I think is something that they needed and you move off of Harrison Barnes and you send him to Blazers Blazers take the deal cuz they get the pick for it to take on his contract Plus for what they’re giving up and the Kings get Brandon Ingram I feel like that’s a great deal for everybody involved maybe maybe it’s just me

Trade talks for Brandon Ingram have intensified, with multiple teams showing strong interest in the star forward. What could this mean for Ingram’s future and the New Orleans Pelicans’ plans?

  1. Here is my main problem with trading Ingram now. Not counting the Anthony Davis trade, which was already prepared the prior season, David Griffin has a history of getting robbed when he trades a superior player for a group of inferior players. Griffin was torched on the Lonzo Ball trade and brought back two players who weren’t even NBA players. He failed to get Markeson even though the Bulls wanted to get rid of him at the same time during the trade. He brought back two players in the Jrue trade which were Eric Bledsoe and Hill. Griffin immediately released Hill, and Bledsoe was a huge bust. Now we arrive at the same inflection point with Ingram that we did with Lonzo.

Both Harrison Barnes and Huerter are solid players, but neither has potential to be more than they already are. Barnes is 32 like a lot of the older prospects Griffin has traded for in the past. McCollum and Garret Temple being prime examples of two players who were already on the downswing of their careers. The floor fell out from Temple almost immediately and Mcollum has never been close to the player he was in Portland. Huerter is who he is. He is likely never to be more than a solid 3 point shooter who offers minimal value in the other areas that win basketball games. If the Pelicans were to make this trade it would be a clear indication that management is trying to dodge the luxury tax. It would also likely indicate and crush any delusions the fans could have that the Pelicans were going to try to seriously compete for a championship in the future by being willing spenders.

The last point in favor of keeping Ingram until at least the trade deadline is that Griffin would be selling extremely low on Ingram. Ingram isn’t an elite player, but he is far better than the player who struggled mightily against Oklahoma. In my perspective, no player on the Pelicans deserves one ounce of blame for the struggles against Oklahoma. It was 100% on Willie Green. It was one of the worst hack jobs from a coach that I’ve seen in any sport ever. He came in with a strategy, which was to force feed Ingram and Mcollum, that had failed at the same rate in the regular season that it did in the playoffs. Willie had the film and he ignored it. It be one thing if force feeding the two was Willie’s only option, but he had a mismatch outlet that he ignored all season. Jonas was on tape in the regular season bullying Chet in the post, which is why Oklahoma came from play 1 in game 1 and sent a double. Willie built no plan around utilizing Jonas, even though the opposing coach was telling him he should have. Jonas had 15 true post attempts in 4 games. It was a disgraceful showing from Willie and his strategy played right into the strengths of Oklahoma. None of the point of attack guards did well. They all struggled mightily. Brandon, CJ, and Jose looked like shells of themselves. It wasn’t on them. It was on a stubborn, unprepared, and ignorant coach.

If Griffin sells low on Ingram now, then he falls into the same traps he has in the past that have put the team behind Oklahoma, Memphis, Orlando, and the upcoming Pacers in the talent arms race. These are 4 other young teams that have outdid Griffin when it comes leadership. I’m probably overlooking a few others.

Unfortunately I have a feeling that the Pelicans will be a poverty franchise for some time. They may make a second round one of these Zion years. They simply have too much talent. That’s all they are though. A group of great talent with no one to hold them accountable, to push them to be better, or to add more talent around them. They have an inadequate, disinterested, attention seeking owner who has put her trust in a snake oil salesman who has hired the village idiot to coach the team.

  2. Your hilarious keep waiting for that trade lol….the Pels aren't going to do that deal they also have other teams interested and Ingram is an all-star caliber player. Pels won't givem away and huerter is garbage and the pels know it. Guess we still havem another year under a contract so there's that. Now that we have Murray they may not trade him at all…because if he starts going off with Murray you won't have enough ammo to get him. Thàts reality Ingram is alot better then most of your team. The Pels gave you our trash Dyson and Nance are garbage …they may not even trade with y'all at all because they looking for Jarret Allen or Markanen. The kings are the ones still chasing Ingram… Soon as we sign a center y'all are history facts
