what is going on Nix Nation welcome back to Nyx media my name is Richie and today I want to share my thoughts of the latest Nick news and really focus on what I think Leon Rose’s plan is for these next few days in free agency because after we got the final details of the bridges deal to really figure out where the Knicks right now from a cap standpoint we found out a lot and I really want to break it down in this video because what Leon Rose in the Knicks front office is doing right now deserves to be talked about every day on this channel I am at a loss for words of how impressed I am with what Brock Aller and worldwide West and Leon Rose has been able to pull off thus far they are doing wizard type of stuff to figure out how to make sure this niick team is under enough cap space to figure out a way to add all these players and basically what I want to focus on in the video is the details we got in the trade and we broke it down yesterday in my video if you did not check it out here are the final details of the bridges trade now that we know that shake Milton is going on ass signed trade and diakite is going as well and the Knicks get baates deop what this does is it allows the New York Knicks to avoid the first apron hard cap now what that basically means is that the New York Knicks have enough money now to afford to break bring back precious auua because we own his bird rights don’t forget and sign a player on a midlevel exception deal now that is really unreal that the Knicks can afford hopefully bringing back pressure situa it’s not guaranteed but that’s what Nicks fans are hoping for and go out there and sign or trade for a big man to replace Isaiah hartenstein so if the Knicks are able to pull this off bringing a Chua back and getting another Center the Knicks are going to be locked and loaded wise for this up upcoming season CU if you look at the depth chart right now for the Knicks I mean you talk about a starting five of Brunson Bridges anobi Randall and Robinson and then Off the Bench we got Duce Dante Josh Hart Jericho Sims right now as the backup center which we obviously want to replace with a more experienced guy than Jericho Sims and then we talk about the rookies we just brought in in the NBA draft kic mcculler Jr hook pory Pome Daddy all right we still have Jacob toppen on a way contract and then hypothetically you add precious aoua and another big man that is when this Knicks team can be fully locked and loaded and I think that Walker Kessler is the guy that Leon Rose is trying to bring in here for the New York Knicks he really fits exactly what the Knicks are trying to do from the big man position and the something that I’ve learned from Leon Rose is that he wants players that are capable starters to be backups and we all know the issue with Mitchell Robinson is not that he’s not a good basketball player it’s his health concerns and we want to have not only a dominant regular season but we want to go on a deep playoff push and the only way you can go on a deep playoff push and to win an NBA title is to stay healthy that’s exactly what the Knicks were not able to do this past season and the postseason you got to get through not the first round not only the second round but you got to get into the Eastern Conference Finals potentially six or seven games each round if the Knicks don’t sweep or win in five obviously and then go into the NBA Finals that’s a long postseason not to count the 82 games in the regular season that we want this team to stay healthy but the good thing is folks the Knicks are so deep that they have players on this roster that I have confidence in to step in if injuries start to hit this team which I’m hoping does not happen so will they go after and trade for Walker Kessler or will they just go after a free agent center like at Thomas Bryant who’s still on the open market Daniel Ty who’s still on the on the open market guys we talked about previously James wisman is no longer available Wagner’s no longer available so the free agent center position is not great which is why I think the Knicks are prioritizing the trade market like a guy like Walker Kesler or Nick Richards from Charlotte we broke down those two players in a recent video but the thing about Walker Kessler that we need to realize as Nicks fans is it’s not going to be cheap to get him we’re talking about a former first round pick who’s just going into year number three has two years left on his contract for cheap so the Knicks will have to get creative we know as Knicks fans what it’s like to negotiate with Danny a in the Utah Jazz we you know how that went last time we were trying to land Donovan Mitchell so basically the main topic of this show main topic of this video that I want to let Nick fans know about what I think Leon Rose is trying to do is now that we are avoiding the first apron hard cap we have the ability to resign precious atua because we have his bird rights and we still have the mid-level exception to bring in a guy in free agency to be the backup center so hypothetically speaking we have Julius Randall and pre sucha at the four spot and then we have Mitchell Robinson and a backup center we bring in with that mle and Jericho Sims we also brought in Bates de up in that trade as well with Bridges and then all the other wings and all the other guards that’s loaded up on this Knicks roster so overall the depth is there and if Leon Rose can pull off bring it back precious and adding another big man on top of that watch out because I know some people don’t are not satisfied with the idea of precious auua being the primary backup Setter behind Mitchell Robinson I get that he’s more of a four but let’s not forget he did play a lot of five with the Knicks this past season when he came in here he also played the four when Julius Randon went down he’s versatile he could play both positions and that’s what Tom thibo likes in his players he likes he doesn’t really like to box players anymore into one specific position he calls it positionist okay that’s what Tom Tibido likes you either a combo guard you can play one or two you’re a wing you can play two through four or you’re a big man you could play four or five that’s what Tom thto likes in his players that’s what pre situ is in the front court and I’m expecting Leon Rose to so hopefully resign precious and land another big man in the free agent Market or go after a guy in the trade market like a walker kler so let me know your thoughts in the comment section folks don’t forget to hit
