NBA and number two’s the two guard buddy Hills signed or signed and traded to the Warriors for a second round pick it came out after the fact that it was between the Warriors the Pistons when was the 13 7 Lakers the Lakers that’s right yep and he chose he chose uh the Warriors cuz he wanted to win Lakers are so poverty they’re in they’re in talks with the Pistons players like you can either go to the Pistons or the Lakers some I going to go to sh High what are your takeaways from that new though I mean I would have liked buddy heeld I buddy he’s a damn good player one of the best three point shooters in the NBA looks like Donkey from Shrek but he’s he’s he’s a dog like I I would have loved I would have loved him on this team he would have been an amazing player to see play next to K Cunningham I saw his be was like I know Apple scar as hell [ __ ] walk in the store he would have been your starting too and it would it would have been great uh but unfortunately you know extreme it would have been great we would have made the playoffs we would have won the championship y we would have won the championship if we signed a great athlete no he would have been a great piece to put next to K Cunningham unfortunately he went to a team that’s trying to win and uh yeah good luck to him mad I like buddy in Oklahoma buddy ball Oklahoma it was fun to watch you know you know I peep though I guess my thought process in it where where it went is that they already grabbed Tim Hardway Jr who you expect to play the two guard yeah they also would have grabbed they’re trying to grab buddy mhm who also played two rotational pieces at the two guard spot position three-point shooting my mind went to jayen Ivy does this mean that their plan is to bring him off the bench are they finally going to do the right thing in terms of get these guys and in the best position prob do the right thing trade him get him out of here easy hat I’m just kid I a say that I I said Off the Bench I mean maybe that’s in the plan I I think 1,000% Tim Hardway Jr should be your starting shooting guard like until Jaden ivy can Fred Vince is here for that too by the way until Jaden ivy can shoot like 38 plus% on catch and shoot threes I don’t think he should be starting next Cade unfortunately like I like Ivy I like what he can do I like his skill set he’s a Hooper but it would be best for both units I think and for both parties for him to come off the bench cuz Jaden Ivy is best when he has the ball in his hands and he’s dictating the offense and if he is on the floor with Cade Cade Cunningham for the for good reason will have the ball in his hand dictating the offense the majority of the time so I think it would be great to have I said my starting would my starting five would be Cade Tim Hardway Jr assur and then uh Tobias and Jaylen Duran and then coming off the bench you got Jaden Ivy Marcus Sasser fonio Holland and Stu I think those are two pretty good balanced units and I think that would that would be what’s best for the Pistons Joe I was gonna say yeah I’m I was just telling Caleb I was like I was never too big of a fan of jayen Ivy like even when he was in college so I never was too big of a fan of the pick knew I like this kid so what you call Yeah Tim Hardway I wouldn’t I wouldn’t be mad at all saying Tim Hardway uh starting there even though he was looking a little dog waterer near like the end of the season is what you call he a better better shooter and I saw I think it was you said that said this many uh like Tim Hardway play compliment K better so it would make sense for him to start and just had that space in there but I would like to see them try to I honestly would like to try to see them trade iy in some way I I am on board with that I like this kid’s got potential I’m telling you how do you feel about Jer go what your C you was for real or you uh just talking [ __ ] I was say cuz I damn near I Won’t Say I’m the same as easy but I’m like I get where easy be coming from with it cuz it’s like well we already talked about this we yeah we did yeah I was just buit no yeah I mean that’s that’s how I’ve always felt but again I think now you’re seeing the same regime I feel like Monte wanted to do that it just it just sucked for him that his only other option to do it with was [ __ ] Killian Hayes yeah so made him look like a dumbass in the process like it’s not it’s not really all his fault but like the fact that trean was trying to get another two guard that you know was would is capable and fit just K cyan better it just told me that the Ivy’s either being possibly shopped or coming off the bench and I’m not mad at it again I think that’s what’s best for the the team I think I’ve always said this about the ivy he’s good it’s just I don’t like the complim you know I don’t think he compliments Cadwell vice versa Caleb how about you you in a piss his hat today yeah I think Ivy’s at his best when he’s not on the floor with kayen that’s really unfortunate because we drafted them to be kind of a one-two punch but um I I like him coming off the bench as our primary ball handler um you know alongside he’s going to have Shooters Off the Bench with them too and exactly like if if F you don’t really know if it depends what money we give fono like if we give fonio a decent amount of money like he might be in that starting five but if he’s not like Ivy ped with fonio and then Stu who could shoot it a little bit that’s not a bad and Sasser um that’s not a bad second unit unit shooting wise but I worry about it a little bit defensively I’d say if like if it was that second unit that you said that’s not a great defensive second unit but hopefully you’re an idiot you got I mean you got you got Holland and Stu I think is two pretty damn good defensive players and then they’re shooting around them probably still not as much on the prier a little could Sasser I think is going to grow into a good defensive but hopefully we don’t get the Monty Williams full bench lineup so hopefully we won’t have to worry about that I will one I 100% agree that we will not get the Monty Williams full bench lineups with JB bicker STA and I I do like that though like I think Ivy and fonio coming in would be perfect to spell like Kade and Tobias absolutely because it would just be you put in Ivy and you let him do the drive and dish with Shooters on the outside instead of Kade doing it and it work perfectly you could just run the same offense you wouldn’t have to change the offense I mean it would be a little faster paced with Ivy at the helm than Kade but it would be the same game plan and I I think that would be best for both parties honestly no I was happy the thing with Tobias is like there are added benefits to just him the player like you got the fact that now you can bring Fon Off the Bench with Ivy and then the other thing too is like if you are looking to shop Ivy I’m not saying they are that they should or anything like that but like if you’re in the market you’re going to help boost him up because now he’s in a position where he’s going to look like a better player than he did alongside K he he’s going to be the guy on the floor and whether he’s driving to the rim and and you know and ones or he’s kicking it back out toono stretching the floor like it’s going to bring his value up and you’re not just getting rid of him for nothing I saw a trade and actually we’ll probably go over at some point today too but I’m getting this one out the way and I love this guy best best Pistons coverage outside of Detroit Koolaid in the city it’s James Edwards yeah and he he suggested that we trade Ivy and durren together to New York for Mitchell Robinson and then our first round back the [ __ ] that’s what I said that’s aggressive that’s aggressive that’s aggressive James the best but like I’m there’s no way I’m I’m I’m at that point with Ivy I’d rather build him up and then dump him off because at this point there’s just bro what are we doing you’re not losing anything by waiting he can only go up there’s no way that that his value goes lower the longer you wait you know so it’s like you’re already at the bottom with it you might as well ride it out see if you can bring a stock back up and then get get some asses back for it kg go a cut on mine yeah oh there it is there it is there it is but no I I totally agree man he don’t need to start when you can’t consistently hit a three and you can’t consistently finish at the rim and yeah K can play off Ball but then you have Jay Ivy as your primary ball handler I don’t really like that man so I feel like he’d be a better spark Off the Bench he’s like the perfect six man to me especially if you can fix his jump shot but I I would fully agree build his stock back up because right now you ain’t going to really get much for him yep that’s exactly where I’m at with it oh he said it was for Mitchell Robinson dece McBride our first in multiple seconds oh what is about say so wait say that again Mitchell Robinson dece McBride okay our first multiple seconds I would probably do that I wouldn’t do that I wouldn’t do that I don’t know seconds we’re talking about depends if it’s if you get like two or three seconds already got three from Tim Hardway Jr you can package all those into another first and dece McBride is pretty damn good play that’s kind of a tank trade that’s a tank trade so piston Pistons received Mitch Robinson miles McBride and our 2025 pick yeah and in multiple future seconds miles look better than he’s he’d be much better fit on this team than I Mitchell Robinson always hurt MIT the first is good and the two seconds but I don’t know if I’m doing that that seems like a tank move to me what do you I guess MC briy can shoot the ball lot he’d be better fit yeah he shoot the ball well say shoot def get his own bucket but he’s still probably coming off the bench though no probably maybe [ __ ] between him and Hardway I think they get the same amount of minutes really I say if he came to the Pistons I wouldn’t be surprised if he would be a starter on the Pistons I like this he played well for the kns last year shot 41% from three last year on four attempts the previous year 30% on two attempts and then he he had a little uh little growth spurt there only 25% in his rookie year yeah with you call he I say ever since he’s been in the league yeah he’s been constantly improving Yeah the more the more opportunity he’s been getting the more he’s shown that he’s a good he’s a damn good player Caleb you said no to that yeah no I don’t like that trade just cuz like I know right now Ivy’s trade value isn’t the highest but I think Jaylen Duran’s trade value is a little higher than we might think maybe just because he’s a 19-year-old who averaged a double double last year and there is room to improve obviously on defense but if he can become a a nice anchor for the Pistons on defense I think no Duren Duren yeah yeah I think his trade value Skyrocket so if we were looking to trade durren I think it would be closer to the deadline maybe so we could show teams that he plays a little bit of Defense but yeah I and Mitch Robinson never plays so I just don’t [ __ ] understand how Jaylen durren isn’t a good Defender like freak ath he’s got I know I know that defense is 90% hustle and instincts so like you got you got to want to be a good Defender to be a good defender in the NBA but with his wings span his leaping ability his lateral quickness like he’s not like big he’s not like a big Gump either like he’s a fluid athlete and I just think he could be a dog ass rim protector in this league and he can defend on the perimeter too like that’s what impressed me a lot when he was actually playing good defense to start year when he was getting switched out on guards he wasn’t getting abused he was staying in front of him I was like that’s a good ass sign I feel like we need to get him like hire the Matumbo and Ben Wallace to just he got he didn’t come into the league with that so if you don’t got that coming in most likely you you need the effort for sure more an effort or like awareness I think it’s an effort and and and it’s him being he’s 18 years old 19 years now get get him some more reps in the league and he’ll understand the rotations and the help defense a more but it’s definitely 80% effort and then 10% awareness 10% athletic ability that’s that’s what defense you guys don’t worry about his injury uh concerns at all the C injury kind of concerns I talked about the injuries last year yeah but at the same time though like he’s so young that he may his body still may be growing yeah and with that can come injuries on an 82 Game season playing against [ __ ] but then by the time level competition by the time you 25 you cook though like you can’t keep incurring those type injury especially at the ankle man it’s like when Jonathan kuminga came back to camp and he was uh 7 feet tall dude I couldn’t believe Kendrick Perkins got ball sacked on live TV bro I talked to my sources and they said Jonathan kuminga came to Camp 7 I would say to though about Duren is uh I think so like the NBA like post defense is way different than perimeter cuz even before you got to the point I was going to say I think it would be better suited to not look at durren as like that player that’s going to be like a just stand like a Rudy goldbeard just standing protect your paint he going to be more like a player that like [ __ ] sometimes if you got like a wing that’s working that’s like like his size like Brandon Ingram they just working they like all right d you got to go out there on him I feel it would be better like something like that where he could do like a little bit like a mix of both but like I don’t really yeah I was about to say cuz post defense that’s really where he was getting killed like cuz I never saw him get kill and like just regular like you said like regular just checking somebody it was just more so like it’s hard to time like a post like a pump fake or that you get cooked by like sabonis be and [ __ ] I saw it was like yic was eating but had to switch out on Horford or somebody like that he looked pretty good yeah I yeah give H that assignment Horford ain’t the best comparison but but I just like if you if he get stretched out on stretch four or stretch five he could hold his own on the perimeter but when he’s going up against a beast in the paint he’ll get bullied a little bit that is because he’s still a kid man and he hasn’t played in the NBA much you know too long so give him some time I think he’ll he’ll learn the rotations he’ll learn the the help defense a little better yeah and he’ll use his athleticism to the best I like there a lot hiside is through yeah he could be a help Defender and that still helps and you got like osar Thompson he’s going to be a freak of nature you got Ron Holland is going to be a pretty damn good rim protector for those Wing guards like those guys are going to be good at shot blockers from the wing position so you got you got some shot blockers on this roster my I was going to say just a quick point I would in the trade talk for Duran I literally I cringe a little at seeing him because I feel that him and Kade should be like our only two Untouchables that’s how I look at it like you got your guard and then you have a potential big man that you’re going to be able to grow so it’s like build around that go from there they already good in the pick and roll so yeah that’s what I’m saying they already got like that that chemistry to do the pick and roll and that’s like where the NBA is going that high screening roll all that type of [ __ ] endurance jump shot does not look bad every time I see him pull a jumper I’m like that [ __ ] looks pretty clean he’s good at passing too yeah and he can he he showed he can bring the ball off the court a little bit it’s crazy he’s got he’s got insane potential man cuz people and actually I saw this on Twitter as well but like people H hung on hung on so long to killing Hayes and what they thought he could be and sacred nobya for song what they thought it could be but here we are with like a guy like Duren 20 years old yeah tr get him out of here this is what he issd PTs in the he’s American it was uh true that said this if he’s French I’d understand I can’t oh the Ronin said how much do you think bad coaching was a factor I think it’s a big fact it’s a big factor I think it’s it’s for these young guys defensively and offensively he watch said have Duren pulling three and half game I’m pretty sure he averaged he never averaged entire blocks but he averaged 9 the block rookie year and then went down yeah that’s sophomore season it’s definitely coaching definitely plays with that yeah JB Becker staff he better with bigs defensively anyway so [Music]
