Spurs SUMMER LEAGUE Roster Breakdown! San Antonio Spurs News

Spurs fans this morning I was like what do I do do I do yet another trade rumor this time involing Brandon nmer which looks like has no substance to it or do I talk about our summer league guys that are here and now and playing tonight GI what is up San Antonio Spurs fans welcome to TSR sports summer league is here I’m excited we’ll be live for every game Stefon Castle makes his debut finally tonight miss TSR Hugon be joining me love it and I want to talk about the roster because well I’m sure like you guys there’s a lot of dudes on this roster I’ve never heard of here’s the actual roster itself and then we’re going to get to a breakdown from Spurs talk.com I’ll share the link Etc but there’s a lot of names that I didn’t know the names I did recognize buay Castle Soko Duke gray Ingram of course because we just drafted him Milner he was on this summer league team last year Minx and that was it and should be noted this is a small rock nobody is over 69 with quite a few players under my height so that being said let’s go ahead and break down our Spurs summer league roster who maybe it’s likely have a chance of being on the team when the season starts first off whoops there we go Stefon Castle this is the obvious player to watch in we’re going to watch all our guys but this is the the biggest name as he was drafted fourth overall and says it right here all eyes will be on Castle during summer league the fourth overall pick of this year’s draft has City wants to play point guard will the Spurs let him run the show during summer league we’ll find out soon we’ll find out tonight I hope so Unleash the Beast a lot is expected of Castle on both ends of the Court it’ll be interesting to see how he does yeah all eyes on him your eyes my eyes Miss Tsar it should be fun seeing what Castle could do in the summer league up next though Harrison Ingram Spurs picked Ingram the second round 40th pick in the draft and at 6’6 with a 7ot wingspan ingr might be the best rebounder on the team those are strong words already and the Spurs will need him to crash the glass early and often iner is a good passer and has shown promise as a perimeter Defender let me just say the Spurs fans right now I like this kid I saw an interview by him I saw it on Facebook don’t remember where I saw it but he said all the right things and I was like this is a guy I could see wanting to make the team not brandom Ingram’s brother don’t think he have any relation for New York Giant Mark Ingram or any ingrams that I know of but he seems like the kind of guy you want on your team so I really hope that he plays well in the summer league guys familiar with this name City Soko the 20-year-old says he lost 20 pounds since the end of the NBA season so it’ll be fascinating to see how this leer Soko assimilates as a rookie his best moments were as a tryhard Defender and a fast processing passer to make it in the NBA sooka is going to have to figure out to be consistently used on offense of course it’s a three-point shot shooting Etc City played well at the end of last season he was dunking the ball left and right and he’s a player that I think a lot of us really hope finds a role find some minutes with the Spurs next season David Duke Jr the Spurs thought enough of Duke to give him a qualifying offer in order to make him a restricted for agent him and S Mama Kelli recently Duke is primarily known as a hustle player so hustle loyalty respect who competes hard on defense he’s also good rebounder for a six foot 6’4 guard and his passing is improving three-point shooting hadn’t been a string since he turned Pro but he hit 38% last season in Austin this will be his fourth trip to Summer League this of a player I’m like we’ll see if you’re hitting your threes left and right our current roster certainly can need three-point shooting so best of luck to you up next bum bum rayquan gray this is a big dude gray is currently on a two-way contract the 24-year-old is 6’7 and somewhere around 270 pounds doesn’t work out here he might be able to go to the WWE or aw or one of those he’s a big human being no doubt but he moves really well for his size he was a point guard in high school huge point guard was he that big as in high school and his passing abilities really Advanced for a forward gray is also quality finisher at The Rim defensively his physical prowess is disruptive I remember him at the end of the season and I feel like we saw him in some threes here and there I I think the liit and actually saw liked what I saw so he’s a player to keep an eye on this is another one we’ll see but I if I remember correctly he showed us so us sign some promise of being a role player off the bench for us words at some point ah the buay Jamari buay buay is the other two-way player the Spurs have under contract Spurs talk says honestly I don’t really see buay as an NBA Prospect he’s a skinny six foot one point guard who can’t really shoot or defend I’m going to push back on that a little bit because I watched his highlights last year and he can definitely hit some crazy threes but I tend to agree he’s not going to be a Spur at least from what I’ve seen better name than than player at this moment but come on the buou boo bo bo bu just a fun name great name you’ll be you’ll remembered forever as a San Antonio Spur in my heart D buou just for your name boo Tyson Ward I forgot he was on the Summer League last year Ward 26 is the old or no maybe he wasn’t never mind strike that Ward I read that wrong W 26 is the oldest player on the Spurs summer league team his stats don’t jump off the page but he played good defense shot the ball well and made a lot of winning plays for a successful Paris Squad I don’t know much about him but I’m going to find out about him over the next few weeks because we’re going to be live for every summer Le game Tre plug again Riley Min is a player I am familiar with and you guys were talking about him recently in some comments as well Min is easily the most exciting undrafted rookie on this team overall of players who weren’t picked in the 2024 draft he was one of the top 10 to 15 highest rated prospects in fact he saw a couple analytic models that had him graded as a late first round pick okay at 6’8 and 230 lb so also a big guy he’s not much of an athlete but he’s talented he moves well without the ball has a high relase onage jumper and possesses deep range Min has to prove he can survive defensively but as stats say he’s a very good rebounder who can make plays on that end if there’s one player on this team capable of coming out of nowhere to shine bright it’s probably going to be menx keep an eye on him really curious to see how he plays in the summer league I don’t think he’ll make the roster on a regular contract right away but could he get on a two-way this this is one of this could be one of those players as far as you the players talking about the players that aren’t the obvious ones I expect you know like castles and sokos I think the other two players I’m really going to keep an eye on the most because I expect big things out of Castle and Soko are probably Ingram and Min though those are my my TSR eyeballs that’s where they’ll be Nathan Mena Mena actually played 25 games for the horns last season I looked him up yes he did at 6’9 and 230 lbs he’s a mobile Defender who can block shots and disrupt passing Lanes Mena can be bothered by strength and was a poor rebounder for a big at an NBA level he also he also has a lot of trouble putting the ball in the basket like I have trouble reading sentences sometimes he’s going to be our starting center this is going to be a small lineup he’s undersized you mentioned you had trouble putting the ball in the basket granted this is limited opportunities but he shot 43% with the Hornets last season I don’t see him making the roster prove me wrong though any player by the way any player that I say probably won’t make the roster shouldn’t make the roster I always hope they prove me wrong because that’s good for our Spurs in the end Seth mire Jr I think this is the one I got confused with Milner played for the Spurs summer league team last year yes I did remember recognize the name was also signed to a two-way contract and got invited to training camp before ultimately getting waved by San Antonio last season the most interesting thing about Milner is he’s a Ford with a pretty three-point stroke I remember him vaguely I don’t remember anything jumping out uh I don’t see him being a long-term player jir Nelson Jr J&J a 6’2 guard Nelson is coming off a relatively disappointing season at TCU but there are enough glimpses of his father’s skill level that give hope he could make it as a pro DJ horny horn horn is an undrafted guard who finishes College CER NC State at 6’1 175 his skill is shooting okay and two guys in a row they’re actually kind of small 62 61 all right Tyrese Radford Radford is a 6 foot one really small here is a six one guard who plays a spirited Brandon basketball he’s not much of a shooter but he’s an elite rebounder for his size Darren Green Jr by the way I don’t know any of these guys now these names don’t don’t know them at all green always sees a green light when he has the ball Kobe at Florida State he had one of the lowest assist rates you’ll ever see for a guard but he shot well enough to keep his hoop dreams alive so I’m I’m assuming score score score uh he would be the opposite of passet to Wy and now you pass it to Wy yeah [Music] mski sure uh melski is a 6 foot n big man who rebounds and block shots he played in Austin last season I don’t remember him but he played for us so I’m guessing he didn’t Stand Out Luke oh boy if you only knew the power of the dark side that okay going off at a tangent you’re having a little fun sorry that’s what I do Luke abalovich another player from a you know what another player I no I’m doing Bane uh not lost Invader another player from Austin adich is a high level three-point shooter but that’s the extent of his game that was terrible that was awful I don’t know anything about him and that was just awful okay let’s share some overall thoughts on the Spurs summer league team the trio of Soko Ingram and gray are big merly multi-talented multi-purpose P Centric forwards who should be enter taining to watch play on the court at the same time I agree Duke should look really good ward has a chance to show he should be in the NBA Min is the wild card so again Riley Minik coming up I think he a wild card too of course in the end Spurs fans this summer league team will be remembered for Castle’s play when summer league concludes we should have a better idea of how ready he is to contribute on the edme level hopefully right away what’s going to suck and this could happen too is we know what’s going to happen if he has a bad game game bust bust bust bust bust bus if he has a good game then he’s going to get hyped to no end I try to stay neutral I I’m generally not the type of person that says bust if somebody has a bad link but if somebody has a great game I might get a little bit on the hype train so Spurs fans let me know in the comments down below we we did a poll recently and I probably should have left Stefon Castle off the poll about who you’re most excited to see in the summer league because he clearly won like 80% to the voting but who are you really excited about nobody everybody somewhere in between for me Stefan Castle is number one this is a player I’m hoping cracks the starting lineup day one this is a fourth overall pick you don’t draft the fourth overall pick to ride the bench or go to the G League he’s not going to the G he better not go to the G league so I I would love to see him play well enough in summer league then eventually preseason to be a starter I like Ingram I like what I’m hearing from him I’d like what I read about him so if he can shine as a second round pick and and crack the 15 man roster rotation great soel was an obvious one draft pick last year would love to see him really develop from where we saw last season because Yeah we actually saw him we didn’t see him develop throughout the season he was passive as all heck to start the season rookie so could have been nerves but he refused to shoot refused to drive I want to say refused but he didn’t shoot didn’t drive was just not really doing much when he had the ball except for passing but at the end of the season we saw more aggression we saw him taking it to the hoop we saw him finishing very strong so I am very excited about so and what he’s going to do for us this year and then the last one’s Min just I like what I write about him we’ll see we’ll see I will be we me Miss TSR and Company and you guys will be live for the game tonight I think it’s at 8:30 p.m. Eastern against the Hornets so we’re going to get to see tjon Salon the guy that many of us wanted with the eighth overall pick and the Hornets stole at six we’re going to get to see him in action against our Spurs Brandon Miller oddly enough is playing in the summer league did not expect that figured he’d be he’d be wrestling but he’s playing so it should be a fun game we’ll be live at 8:30 if you’re looking to watch these NBA TV is watching some of the Spurs games ESPN 2 is showing some of the others and then it appears ESPN plus is showing all of them so if you don’t have NBA TV or ESPN 2 ESPN plus is only like 11 bucks for month so you can get all your s League action that way so there you go let me know hit the thumbs up you like supp to your channel subscribe become a great part of our become part of our great suburbs community and hope to see you tonight 1. Ive put some thought into a possible brandon ingram trade but i just dont feel like hes a spurs guy. Idk why. Maybe i just dont know him well enough but it just doesnt seem like the right fit

  2. I'll mostly be looking at Castle's shooting form. SL is good for entertainment, bad for judging players, but the fundamentals should translate. I want to see if Castle's shot is truly broken, if his form looks good then that's a great sign, I think that's most important.

  3. We don’t have a center so I think our starting lineup is Castle Duke Cissoko Ingram and Gray. Do want to see soemthing from DJ Horne and Jameer Nelson Jr. Horne played with DJ Burns in that Cinderella run with NC State
