Warriors Make SNEAKY Good Moves | Warriors Hire Terry Stotts & Jerry Stackhouse as Assistant Coaches

on our free agency day three recap we talked about the Warriors hiring two new assistants Jerry stack house and Terry Stouts I mentioned we’re going to dive deeper into the hirings why they’re here and how they will help make the Warriors a better team overall this episode Warriors digest we’re diving into the Warriors coaching staff warriors fans this is an episode for you to get to know the team that will make the players better that we’re bringing in of course the players that we’ve currently had Randy silver Warriors Digest you know who I am but if you’re new here we give you all the Wars news daily we putting out two three episodes a day at this point subscribe if you want to be notified 14% of you are I thank you if you’re not you’re missing out why are we hiring at least one new coach welcome to Cleveland Kenny ainson official hired away from the Warriors coaching staff for five years well for five years he received a 5-year deal with Cleveland he was our lead assistant he took over after Mike Brown left to become The Kings Head Coach so this shows you lead the system with the Warriors good things can happen same thing happened with Luke Walton obviously that was way back mid 20145 when Steve Kerr got the back surgery he led us to the crazy like 270 start ended up winning not winning the title that year unfortunately because Cleveland where aon’s going beat us in the finals but Luke Walden ended up getting a head coaching job with the Lakers so it’s a good gig to have Terry Stouts a proven head coach in this league with Portland he was the assistant coach last year we’re gonna dive into it with the Bucks and then rest in peace Dey again unfortunately he died in Utah heart attack with the team dinner all over the news of course very sad he was a big man and Player Development code for us and Jerry stack house is coming in to fill that role so with ainon leaving um again wish you all the best K say is a great coach that’s the reason Cleveland just hired him I was very lucky to have him the last few years and this has led to ker reshuffling the Warriors coaching staff with two experienced additions also means some other coaches are moving from in front of the bench to behind the bench Wars coach Steve Kerr entered last week with two openings on his staff both officially were filled Monday with veteran coach Terry Stouts and former NBA All-Star player Jerry Stackhouse coming to Golden State let’s go Jerry stack house baby both are expected to join Kerr on the front bench with Chris Reams weams excuse me remaining on staff and filling the third and final spot according to multiple League sources Williams was promoted to the front bench last summer after Jamal Mala Leela took the job with Toronto Raptors try to saying that name t times fast so a couple names there you may not recognize but crucial to this Warriors team here here was the team the excuse me the coaching staff last season you got Steve ker in the front Kenny ainson front right next to him and then Dey back behind Kerr and ainan again rest in peace the additions move longtime assistant Bruce Q Frasier known mostly for his close affiliation with Team Superstar Steph Curry back to the second bench after three seasons up front and Fraser is on the very left of this photo thank you Al me for the photo STS 66 years old brings 13 years of head coaching experience most recently for nine season with the Portland Trailblazers after two seasons away from the NBA he returned last summer as an assistant for first year coach Adrien Griffin with the Milwaukee Bucks Discord between the two led to STS resigning one week before the season opened resigning one week before the season open and it didn’t get much better for Griffin as was fired basically mid-season and Doc Rivers came in Bucks really never got their season going at all looking to do better this season so lot unpack there again starts with the Trailblazers and that was basically late 2000s all the way through like 2018 19 is that type of Realm you know what happened those years Lakers end of the two end of the 2000s Spurs early 2010s and then the Warriors dominated the late 20s 15 all the way on Portland could never give over the hump him and Damon Lillard CJ McCollum were never able to beat the Warriors can’t beat them you join them Styles effectively moves into the top assistant role vacated last week again with Kenny ainson leaving then you have Jerry stack house 49 years old a two-time All-Star who moved into coaching after retiring in 2013 he spent three seasons coaching with the Raptors the last two as head coach of their G league team he then spent a year as an assistant to JB bicker staff with the Memphis Grizzlies before departing to become the head coach of vanderbelt and then bicker became the head coach of Cleveland was let go now the head coach of Pistons just got hired there and who became the head coach of Cleveland ainon chair roulette he spent Five Seasons with the commodor but was fired after they finished 9 and 23 last season not good but as I put in that recap video jur stack house is a incredible player multiple time All-Star was a prolific scorer above average very good at defense injuries kind of took away late in his career but someone who the players respect so he can come in and help kaminga help Moody tra Jackson Davis Brandon become better Ballers is he a big man coach no but he knows how to win he was successful in this league and having someone like that on the coaching staff is massive also was a coach in col College the past couple years so he knows how to interact with people of a certain age group 18 to 22 18 to 23 helps out a lot he can understand how to develop them say it’s their shot dribbling conditioning whatever is needed he can help that out and Stouts again a proven assistant coach in the league a proven head coach in this league knows how to get the best out of the X’s and O’s of the players and the schemes that we need to run stack house spot on the staff was created by the s death of assistant deian Dei milovich in February milovich was who worked again with Golden State’s big men was assistant on the back of the bench with Stout’s deep reservoir of experience in stack House’s strong wild demeanor will demeanor excuse me the general reaction is the Warriors should have a stronger staff next season and that’s great a stronger staff make this team better A lot of the comments a lot of the critiques are Cur doesn’t play the young players they need to get game time to develop and also in practice time you do the best you can and these coaches can help with that and this is where our roster is at so you got Steph Curry Brandon Wiggins kaminga green and then the reserves again we’ll be using this a lot does lowy come in with the trade there other trades happen we’ll have to find out Quinton post will be someone we really develop against SF footer can shoot the three can we get some way on him to help in the paint a little bit more Looney developing a shot is trying his best same with Jackson try to become a three-point threat Anderson on the defense so this team is starting to round out together and having stack house will help this team from a players mindset someone who’s been in the league someone who’s respected and Stouts a head coach with a lot of experience come in and Steve ker loves his number two to be someone who’s a former coach Aon was with Brooklyn before Mike Brown was with the Lakers in Cleveland technically Luke Walton didn’t have any head coaching experience before that I’m pretty sure sure um but then and Mike Brown was there for like five six years so there goes the rest of it but he loves to have a number two and kurs only signed to 2026 so remember that does this mean that someone’s lined up stack house Stout someone else organization to potentially succeed him in 2026 if he doesn’t resign think about that I was thinking about potentially Monty Williams who just left Denver excuse me Denver and Detroit he didn’t leave he got like go and he’s getting paid Darvin ham so there’s some people like that that maybe um with golden state new team they could do better I’m not sure if I want them but throwing some names out there I’m pretty sure Darin ham is going to Milwaukee it’s gonna be Doc Rivers number two and Williams I mean he’s sitting on the bag of bags of bags so he might be chilling so what do you think of these tires Stouts Jack Jack house stack house let me know your thoughts comment of course anything Warriors digest stay here we got it for you
