Lakers Have Discussed Trades With Nets, Trail Blazers, Jazz

so the Los Angeles Lakers we’re we’re hearing like such mixed bag reports some people are saying expect them unlikely to make any moves like that they’re not expected to make any moves and then the expectation is that they’ve now talked to teams but first let’s talk about multiple things there there’s two stories that seem to be coming out first off they’re also pursuing jacqu vaugh and Alvin Gentry as assistant coaches which is cool I think those are very two respectable coaches in the NBA but according to Yovan bhha supposedly they discussed the Nets Trailblazers and Jazz trade talks while Adrian Morin Al has came out and said that it’s unlikely they make any major moves this off season so the Los Angeles Lakers have according to yova and bua not made many roster changes this off season but they’ve made plenty of ways thus far they’ve swapped out Spencer dwy antori and Prince for D to connect and bronny James all the other moves have seen players return to Los Ang on new contracts or be having their options picked up with LeBron James coming back in the poll for nearly $50 million the Lakers are basically out on signing any free agents Los Angeles is over the second apron and limited to just signing players to the minimum contracts they also have 15 players already on fully guaranteed deals for next season that means the path forward for improvement will be via trade Lakers have engaged with the Nets Blazers and Jazz in recent days on various trades Los Angeles has been linked to Dorian fny Smith and Jeremy Grant one of the Nets and one of the Blazers while the Jazz talks could moove moving salary or two into Utah’s c space to facilitate a trade and yeah while Andre Mor Janowski wrote that the Lakers have potential you know trades that they could do but it’s not expected that any major move this off season as they view Player Development roster balance and continuity is more important than the pursuit of a third star quote I think a lot of the moves and what left are going to be minimum contract some moves around the edges there’s not a dramatic deal for the Lakers to do out in the marketplace and they don’t want to use their draft picks to get off contracts they’ll certainly use them if they as a player that makes sense as a bigger part part of a bigger deal right now they’re not involved in any deals that would certainly land them a third star they’re seeing the landscape of this league and that three star model with the salary cap doesn’t work as much more difficult for it to work end quote Adrian wowski set on Sports Center the Lakers have potential trade candidates for major moves matching d’angel Russell and R haimura but their limited options available are now being protected of their future draft Capital LeBron was open to taking less money if the Lakers were able to secure commitment from specific targets with the mid-level exception such as Klay Thompson yonis F junis or James Harden or even Demar D rozan however they all signed elsewhere James and Lakers have signalized a 2-year Max $104 million deal with a with a no trade clause so let’s go ahead and go into the trade machine and talk about what a Lakers Jazz trade could look like I think again if you did a Lakers Jazz trade I think again it’s for D’Angelo Russell and in my opinion you would probably try to just do Jordan Clarkson and I think that’s it I don’t think you’re maybe you asked for Darius basley maybe you asked for Darius basley but at that point are you saving that much money there that’s it you save $2 million maybe you don’t even put Darius basley in this deal you just do Jordan Clarkson I think that’s the the closest thing you would do for this deal in terms of the Utah Jazz I don’t think they have any other players that you want I you could take out Darius basley and be like what if Walker Kessler’s thrown in there and we throw you you can’t aggregate players cuz they’re over the cap but again Jordan Clarkson Walker Kessler and they send you second round picks like that I know Utah Jazz fans are going to say no way in hell would this deal happen but this is the deal if there was a deal with the Jazz now let’s go over to the Blazers how would the Blazers look if they were trying to do a deal with for Jeremy Grant so Jeremy Grant makes $2 29.7 million and with this second acre teens are pred from combining multiple salaries into trades for example Yosef nage and ASL could be traded for 24 million they cannot utilize SEC trade exceptions or send cash out to help get deals over the you know uh over the the the dead or to get over the the cap limit so I feel like this would have to be a three team trade this is is where you would call in the Jazz I think to get a Jeremy Grant you call in the Jazz cuz you say I think in this case you would be like okay the Blazers can have him and then the Jazz can have him and what you would do in this case is my assumption personally then you would package derus basley to the Blazers and we’re not going to get involved with how the pcks would get done here but I think this is how it would look yeah basley I think you could do this deal like this and it works so Blazers walk away with basley and Russell Lakers walk away with Grant and you the Jazz walk away with ruy the whole thing you have to understand is in this deal or you would you move you know basley to the Lakers cu the Lakers are losing you know two players so you would say okay send him to the Lakers and I just don’t see any other contracts that you would have them just dump in a deal cuz you your assumption is oh they’ll just dump salaries like for example he just resigned so I don’t know if they could send wreath I think wath would be someone that they’d like but let’s say for example toan Kamar was throwing this deal so the Lakers because I feel one could say the Lakers are technically giving up ruin D’Angelo are better players than deer basley and tamani so something along this lines I think they they’d only take back two players so let’s say it’s dar’s Bas let’s take off tman I’m taking off tman cuz I don’t think tman would come either so let’s do this and yeah this is what I think the deal would have to look like you have to send money out to ruy to just get that off and they send you Darius basley so you’d stay there and then Russell would go to the Blazers and that’s the only way because you can’t put ruy and Russell together to the Blazers you’d have to make this a three- team deal to get skirt around the the second apron I don’t know why I blanked on that so we did the Jazz we did the Blazers in the last trade we are hearing that they could potentially be doing as the ones that they talked with are the the Nets I think the Nets could be the easiest I think they they have an affinity for D’Angelo Russell they they I think Char marks likes the angel Russell I think this deal is like you go how about Dorian Smith and you call it a day you call it a day you call it a day and that’s the deal I I want to hear your guys’ thoughts on that one is that something you would do I just think when you you look at the situation I think it’s just so obvious [Music] that I don’t know why wouldn’t you why wouldn’t you want it to to to work out this way and I’m a fan of how they’ve gone ahead and decided to continuity is the new way I think they’re they’re being smart I think they’re being smart I don’t know maybe maybe it’s just me maybe it’s just me I want to hear your thoughts in the comment section what is your expectations with this I think it’s just strange in the sense that like all right I get like what we’re trying to do here and I’m all for it okay don’t get me wrong I’m all for it now my whole thing is though is there enough room for this team to grow is this team as good as the Lakers are hoping cuz I don’t know if I see it and that’s kind of my problem is is there is this believable and I don’t know I do not know and I’m all for it but I don’t want us to uh just do it for the sake of doing it you know so that’s that’s my two cents I’m it I’m done I hope you guys did enjoy it like comment subscribe bye

  1. Doesn't make sense for 2/3 teams. I understand why the lakers can benefit for jerami grant but why would the portland or utah want these packages and how would they benefit?

  2. What about

Lakers receive: Jerami Grant, Jevon Carter and the bulls 2029 second round pick

Blazers receive: Lonzo Ball, their own first round pick back from the bulls, the bulls 2028 first round pick, the lakers 2029 First round pick

Bulls receive: D’Angelo Russell Rui Hachimura and Matisse Thybulle
