The Charlotte Hornets defeated the San Antonio Spurs, 97-65. Mouhamadou Gueye led the way for the Hornets with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks, while Jake Stephens added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the victory. Stephon Castle tallied 12 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists for the Spurs in the losing effort. The Hornets improve to 1-0 in the Summer League California Classic, while the Spurs fall to 0-1.

  1. Just goes to show, there’s a big difference between ‘can’t shoot’ and ‘inconsistent’. This is not some Ben Simmons situation, or even a Giddey situation, Castle has decent overall mechanics and coaching, reps and confidence will go a long way towards building consistency. Encouraging.

  2. “Castle doesn’t have to worry about that sociology paper….” You think any player who was going to be a 1st round lottery pick was worried about school work? And at UConn?

  3. Castle seems to be brimming with potential but his plays were not poised enough to make it in the NBA.
