these guys are ridiculous these guys are [Music] ridiculous now how about them damn Celtics and we are back with another episode of how about them Celtics same there here recording on Friday July 5th uh with bunch of Celtic stuff we’re g to go over a bunch of Celtic summer league stuff uh I’m exhausted it’s kind of late it’s 10 p.m uh I was sitting here Sam uh and obviously like I know we do a lot of shows but it it just like hit me I’m like wow we have a lot of stuff we talked about Lori last episode I’m like I talked to this dude way too much I was like I spent like hours and hours just yapping like that and it’s great I love that we do the show but I just I sat down I was written down the sheet I’m like my God we just we do just talk for hours and hours and hours and hours every week well where would the listeners be without us we are your friends that you don’t really know you put us on in the car it’s like you’re not driving to work by yourself it gives you a reason not to just drive off the road as you head into maybe a job you don’t maybe you do like a job kudos to you if you like your job respect um but yeah we have a fun show today we have a little bit of Summer League updates in terms of familiar faces that’ll be wearing the shitty Celtics jerseys in Vegas um we have little bit of update on some new hires on the coaching staff very uh sad news about coaches leaving the coaching staff we’ll go through your emails go around the league talk about some spicy rumors going around happy July this is what we have for you we also have a very scientific Reddit alive for 5,000 days uh how many absolutely is 5,000 are we yeah 5,000 is gonna be mid- teens 13.7 years yes wish I was 5,000 days so people across the globe have listened to us for Combined 13 years anyways um like s mentioned uh bunch of Summer League stuff we’ll start there Celtics summer league roster still isn’t fully out but we do know the current quote unquote Celtics players that will be there Jaden Springer Jordan Walsh will be a part of the summer league team in addition to that uh JD Davidson Drew Peterson the two two-ways although JD Davidson might not be on a two way he’s not officially signed to one yet Drew Peterson is so we don’t really know status uh exactly so we don’t know um Nish kada could also be added to the group this is all part of Adam himmelbach of the Boston Globe shout out thank you Adam himmelbach also DJ clay will be coaching the team shout out DJ nice guy have talked to him a little bit briefly uh for those who might not exactly know who’s DJ mlay I don’t know who that is DJ mlay was Luca donic I wrote about it talked to Xavier tomman yes you didn’t know this oh he was he was DJ mlay donic in practice yes I thought you was like yeah he had this incredible like European career at a young age absolutely not he played at Richmond I think soor I’m absolutely not that’s harsh uh he played uh Luca in Celtics practice I talked to Xavier to about it this is the wrong article uh I IAL to dude can’t even plug his own [ __ ] articles I thought I clicked the right one I don’t know why it didn’t work okay BM um DJ mlay played LCA n in practice I talked to Xavier tomman during the finals uh in a one1 and he said yes uh he’s literally been LCA uh Not only was he LCA though like it’s not just like oh he was the guy he was in charge of their defensive game planning against Luca so like he was in charge of sort of leading that niche of The Scouting so him and S Kyu played Luca in practice to help the team get used to guarding a heliocentric player like that unfortunately I asked Xavier tman hey who’s been the better Luca he goes what just sorry DJ but the point is this guy DJ mlay great guy great coach is going to be the summer league head coach for the Celtics uh in just about a week now uh we’ll be heading to Vegas to watch but um we figured we’d go over all the players we’re going to be playing again we’ll do neimi we’ll do Springer we’ll do Walsh we’ll do Davidson we’ll do Drew Peterson talk about what we want to see from them talk about How likely it is they could get minutes next year or like what type of minutes they could get and how much summer league is going to impact that uh is there a player you want to start with uh let’s start with JD because we really don’t know what’s going on with him exactly all right do you want to start or do you want me to give my thoughts first uh you I’ll talk you pull up the highlights all righty we we’ll watch some JD Davidson highlights what we so JD Davidson was drafted by the Celtics in 2020 two he’s now had two years Z Pro under his belt he competed in the g-league finals with Maine not sure if he’s played his last game as a Celtic I I don’t root on anyone especially in this team’s downfall I would never root on their downfall however it wouldn’t be the worst thing if he’s not on the south next year I don’t know him as a guy he’s a young kid he has plenty of room to develop with that being said it doesn’t feel like that’s going to happen here he was really good for the red CL or the main Celtics this year you can see he’s a freak athlete he did a good job Distributing the ball for them but you just don’t really feel he has that same impact when he’s playing on the big stage which really no g-league players is going to but my goodness maybe we get to see some poers in the yeah for audio listeners we’re watching highlights for the YouTube crowd and jie Davidson has thrown two posters uh 28 seconds into this video J is gonna be a Twitter mixtape guy in five years how how how do you stop him whatever um anyways I was watching a video on Tik Tok he has one of the 10 best high school dunks of all time apparently really according to that list he like there is one it’s insane I’ll pull it up while we uh while youat if you want or I can give my thoughts too J just briefly J Davidson is fine I I do think he is genuinely really really talented player this just feels like I don’t want to say the worst he needs minutes he needs real minutes he needs real game reps and he just has not ever had the chance to do that in Boston because of the Guard Talent they have like Jon is a freak athlete as you’ve seen here he’s a genuinely really really good playmaker he’s not a good shooter but he drives really well you can attack like if he got real minutes on a team that doesn’t have any like actual point guard doesn’t have any actual player they need like no goals or anything like you you put him on the Wizards or you put him on the jazz or you put him on the you know one of these teams that can give him real minutes maybe you’d get a little pop maybe you’d get something where he could be a a high LEL backup he can run your offense like obviously the shots gonna have to come around but like it it does feel like he clearly has the talent to be somewhere getting a chance at the NBA level it’s unfortunately just not going to be in Boston that which is is if anything I I think JD Davidson should not want to play for the Celtics next year I think he should want to try to get a two-way spot where he could get the actual one whether it be with like a Pistons a jazz or Hornets or whoever right I I think it would be for his benefit to no longer be in Boston main yeah I I agree I think that’s where you’re going to see like it’s going to be the real test does he have it does he not have it is he able to perform when he has more responsibility and you mentioned it it’s just not going to happen here I don’t know what your stance is but mine is I think Springer is just ahead of him in the packing order I don’t really know if I like that really means anything for Springer but I’m a big supporter of his and I think he’s got a lot more role player upside than JD does if JD makes it it’s probably going to be like one of those how did the Celtics let this guy go he yes he’s so good you know like he does so many things and you can see when you watch these highlights he has so much versatility to his skill set he can he can dunk he makes these highlight passes he’s athletic enough to block like he is a quality player across many areas but he doesn’t have that same layer to his game where he’s able to make an impact in a low usage Jaden Springer has potential to be that guy so looking at JD what do we want to see from the summer league well we probably want to see him be the focal point of the team in terms of the ball handling but I don’t know what that translate to translates to as far as his future with the Celtics because it doesn’t feel like there’s ever going to be a role for him there yes I will say if he comes out in summer league which I don’t think this would happen because I’ve watched him shoot jumpers all year and he’s just magically like unconscious from uh three like he he just like oh wow that changes things obviously because that is the the one thing lagging behind but it just it just doesn’t feel like it um I can’t find the exact CC where do you seec team team abbreviation Cleveland charge I believe Cleveland Char what a shitty name uh won’t fight you there um I can’t find the dunk I know there was a crazy dunk but I can’t find what it was um oh yeah this is it I found it I don’t know if this is the exact one but this is p it up I just saw it and like here you go I think it’s right at the start of the video uh yeah JD Davidson just kind of kills a guy oh my God just he just murders a guy that’s the DeAndre Jordan dunk but he’s only 6′ three yeah this is insane I think they’re about to see it happen yeah throws it up just bodies over the defender yeah JD DAV is a freak athlete man I would love for him to put it together because I’ll put it this way if JD Davidson was a NBA level threo shooter I think he would get the real minutes in the NBA right now but he’s a little bit small isn’t an amazing Defender he hustles he’s a good athlete shots not really there it just it’s tough and so I think he needs to go to a team where he can get real minutes and get real NBA reps and that’s kind of my thought process um we did Drew Peters in video so we don’t have to spend a ton of time on him but Drew Peterson we can pull up a little bit of highlights is if we haven’t seen enough in the past couple days um go check out our Drew Peterson video because they just signed him 2A two-way contract so uh go check that out if you would want to see Full thoughts but I’ll keep it simple for Drew Peterson Sam make your threes do everything else better than everybody else period maybe show some muscles maybe show some muscles but like Drew Peterson on a two-way contract the goal should be I should be one of the best players on the floor period done like it and so I think make your threes at a high clip do everything rebounding passing defense everything better than most people done period that’s all I want to see from him I’m not even going to PA the highlights we watched a million yesterday go watch the video yeah I mean he needs to really start to show that he has got the elite skill which is shooting he needs to show that he has a little bit of an ability on the defensive end of the floor ideally if he wants real minutes with the Celtics he’s goingon to have to bulk up him and Jordan Walsh both look extremely skinny when they’re with the rest of the team in comparison to me probably not but looking at them next to NBA players they don’t quite look NBA ready yet now we can move on to Walsh because he’s an easy segue and he is probably the most exciting guy in this Bunch aru last summer league we were all he exceeded all expectations last year he was like getting buckets as a wing like he wasn’t necessarily A her heliocentric guy but he was still like run plays for him let him cook hitting his step backs I think he made a big shot the end of a game this is a big moment for Jordan Walsh this is big for us seeing what we’re going to expect from Jordan Walsh because he is now someone who has had an entire season working in the G League working on his game hopefully putting on a little bit of extra muscle he should be able to be one of the best players in this summer league especially with the top of this draft class being what it was this year he’s shown that he can drive he’s an okay three-point shooter up in main last year he was pretty pretty serviceable the real draw with him is defense he has really long arms he’s young and he has time to develop Brad Stevens picked him in this 2023 draft obviously because he sees something in him and he sees that three and D combination and if we can see Walsh probably play a bigger role than just 3 and D in the summer league but really thrive in those areas it’s something for all of us to be excited about for sure I want to see Jordan Walsh make it impossible for everybody else in front of him to score I think the threes are great obviously make your threes play catch and shoot I don’t even necessarily want to take a ton of on ball reps I’d rather see him play in a catch and shoot role where JD Davidson or Springer whoever can just set him up and he can knock down catch and Sho threes because that would be was doing in main he was doing he’s doing that right here in this video we’re watching if you’re on YouTube but the biggest thing for me is obviously he’s skinny frame small frame I want to see him every single guard in Wing that gets in front of him and he’s in a one-onone situation with clamps done not going to get past him get to position well show some of the defense show the wingspan show everything like like be a complete pest be the best defender in summer league that should be Jordan Walsh’s goal for do they give out all team in summer league they do all team they don’t do all like defense and I think they do MVP in all teams but I I think Jordan Walsh’s goal and what Celtics F should want to see or him strive for be the best defender in summer league period done like it that’s what you want to see threes go in would obviously like duh do some other things would be cool be the best defender in summer game then [ __ ] off or Ben Simmons but he doesn’t have a massive influx of new super talented guys to really compete with so it’s a big chance for him to take a step up and show everybody what he’s been working on over the past year absolutely uh speaking of working on Mish kada should slash could be with the Celtics Sumer League team this year this is another guy Allah Jordan Walsh he he should be one of the best players in some League the kada is very clearly a fringe NBA player could get real minutes probably will get real minutes on the Celtics next year oh I realized we didn’t talk about that Jen davon’s not gonna get any minutes on the Celtics next year unfortunately feels like Drew Peterson probably won’t either Jordan Walsh could be in the maybe he gets the OA brette minutes role like he gets every once in a while he’ll come in play a 15 minute in a game maybe he’ll give you 20 maybe if guys are hurt he he’ll I don’t think he’ll get a SP he might get you know maybe yeah maybe he’ll get a spot start like I think there will be like o obviously gonna play a different role like he’s a wing versus OA a forward but like I think it will be O’Shea Bret esim minutes for Walsh next year the Peterson and J I don’t think we’ll get much well yeah there there really is that opening now for Jordan Walsh like he’s got an opportunity to earn a pseudo rotation spot now that o is essentially all but left this team all all the the word on the streets are telling me the streets say he wants more minutes yeah I’ve heard he’s gonna look for something with more minutes but if he can’t find it then he would come back to Boston Ah that’s what I just listen to Thanos M where where did it all bring you all back all back to me exactly um but even then like if O’Shea is like testing the waters and nobody’s will to give him a minimum with more minutes you still have like a minutes battle between the two of them like I I think at least we haven’t seen the summer league yet we don’t know what’s G to happen but we could be walking away in like three weeks being like damn Jordan Walsh is ready to give O’Shea a run for those spot minutes next year and that would be great yeah I mean knowing Celtics fans they might even walk away saying does he take Hower spot like they’re gonna say some can they take can they trade Tatum yeah they’re gonna say some inre stuff but trade in his big contract and keep Wick no um Nish kada is a guy who’s probably G to play like 20 plus minutes and 10 plus like 15 plus like he’s gonna get real minutes next year with out for the first five to six minutes me too man like he he has a ton of potential um obviously just felt like last year he was still getting very used to being in the right place playing the Celtic system positioning all that stuff as we see him stat padding um but it feels like as he learns and as he grows like they’re going to need him to play real minutes next year and he has the potential to be the best backup big uh on the Celtics I think right now in this current moment it’s probably Tillman cornette then kada but I I I like you talk potential size quickness all that stuff like kada has the potential to be number one at that group it’s just a matter if he can get the positioning down summer league just like Jordan Walsh dominate defensively be be the best in interior defender in summer league send away every single shot get every single rebound hustle your ass off for GJ mlay um biggest thing for me though past that need to see the touch around the rim improve need to not foul those two right there one two touch around the rim improve defend without fouling because the touch has been questionable as you’ve seen with his million offensive rebounds got to make those shots if you’re playing for the Celtics at the NBA level yeah and you really have to make them in summer league when you’re not exactly playing against the best competition I’m super excited to see neimi play one thing I think we might see from neimi I’m not necessarily like looking for it I don’t really care whether or not we do see it think we might get to see a couple three-point shots from him in this summer league I we know the two of us have seen him working on it he has a decent looking jumper like he looks like someone who could potentially evolve into a sporadic three-point shooter where every once in a while he’s in the corner kind of doing what Baines used to do and catch and shoot those but you’re right jack number one and number two disciplined defense underneath the basket we just saw a nice block from him there and finishing around the rim if you’re playing against summmer League guys you have to finish especially if the cels are G to trust him with porzingis out eating up extra minutes in the early months of the Season you have to prove your a reliable guy because if you don’t you may just get left a little bit more than you should and then drives become a lot more difficult for the rest of the gang and for what it’s worth anytime I’ve seen neimi play in the G League aside from the championship game when he was Ill he has been a dominant finisher so I think we should be pretty intrigued by what we’re going to see in the summer league because he’s going to be playing against similar competition I want to see some dominant neim ball he’s super fun to watch I mean these highlights are awesome this was a tremendous showing in the first game of the finals you’re muted I said I mean he’s just huge he’s just a massive human being and he has some athleticism to him too he does like if he can get up there he can play with the right point guard like like I said all the potential all the physical skills all the physical tools to be the best backup center on Celtics just got to put together positioning wise touch wise defending without fouling wise big things very big things that people don’t necessarily notice because they see the super cool rebounds s of course it’s big things dumbass uh thanks uh but yeah I think he’ll obviously I think play real minutes for the Celtics next year um I can’t believe this wasn’t the g- League game I went to this year I went to the next one it’s tough tough for you brother last guy Jaden Springer of the group that we’re talking about today uh you heard the Avery Bradley comps immediately when he joined the Celtics I think those are the ones that have stuck with me the most pain in the ass defensively I think I mean I sound like a broken record that’s what you want to see from but like that’s it like if you’re going to defend at a high level in the NBA you need to do it in summer league for sure and so if they can do that in summer league that leaves me at least a glimmer of hope that they can do it at the NBA level other thing hit your threes got to hit the threes for Jaden Springer like that’s gonna be a huge thing for him I know I see him working with Tyler Lashbrook at it all the time uh before games they play a game where he’s got to make three in a row or three out of four and if he misses more than one he just says okay go sit he just sits down for like 20 seconds like just sits on the bench with the other coaches like he’s in timeout and then he goes all right come back like if he doesn’t get three four he’s going to go sit and it was very funny to watch because Jaden Springer be sitting there like laughing like [ __ ] just all pissed at himself um James Spring is cool though also like I said with tomman just super nice guy like I went up to him at media day and I go hey what’s up how you doing he was he just seemed genuinely happy that somebody wanted to talk to him for something I was like yeah what’s up man and so like I talked to him yeah little story we we should both see if we can get to Media Day this year like the big one just see what we can do that’s not how B works we would not be able the P we we wouldn’t get players yeah no it’s just press conferences um but uh yeah Jen looking forward to Jaden Springer three-point shots defense dominate summer league in those two areas I’ll be feeling good uh not something I think is going to be important for him playing up in Boston but little interested to see how well he does in the pick and roll he has a really good pick and roll offensive skill set meaning he’s going to make those midies off the screen he just is like you have to defend him off of the screen we’ve seen him warming up Jack we’ve seen him actually get in games and be able to make these free throw line Elbo is jumpers that’s going to be something he’s really good at in this summer league showcase like you mentioned the threes are something he needs to work on he’s not quite there yet but I love way the way he plays defense he’s an exciting player for me to watch I like his athleticism I like his energy and I’m hoping when he’s in these games in Vegas he’s bringing that same intensity of the floor and if he is it feels like the sou is going to be a very tough team to beat this a very good roster like that’s a really like gritty steal he was in the right place he had a good knowhow nice little explosive dunk on the other end and I think the Avery Bradley coms are very good and it’s a reason why I’m excited about him because even in today’s NBA I think a player like Avery Bradley could be be an asset on a winning team Bradley could shoot three he could play defense he had a little bit of ball handling in in decision making ability to him if you can develop Springer he’s really gonna help you down the line as Drew holiday ages out as Derek white ages out even though he’s on the younger side he’s far younger than holiday he’s still not going to be the player he once was eventually everybody father time gets him so if Springer sticks around and you you really work on him he can become a solid Celtic down the line yeah it feels like s have done a good job of throwing darts at players who can potentially fit for them eventually Springer is one of those guys he’s only 21 he doesn’t turn 22 to September so he’ll be 22 for all of next season but uh very young is the point um as for minutes next year it’s tough to see him getting a lot of regular rtation minutes correct when they added him at the trade deadline Brad did say something along the lines of like we added the guys who we think could play right now in the playoffs and will help down the line so maybe from that perspective like realistically thinking about it do they start to load manage Drew holiday a little bit next year maybe he’s 34 like it’s not like he’s he’s as as he once young as he once was they already won a title and not that they they obviously want to do it again but it does take a little bit of that pressure off and so I’m not saying they should Coast through the regular season but if they don’t win 64 games again I’m not gonna bitching mode you know what I’m saying like we know what they can do in the playoffs the slack get there get there healthy and if anything not saying rest Drew holiday but like if Drew holiday doesn’t play back toback like Al Horford open up some Pritchard minutes open up Springer minutes get him some rotation stuff um maybe he gets the SP spot minutes this year maybe it is instead of spe mcy it is oh yeah Jaden Springer will play here and there you know seven minutes here eight minutes there and you’ll see what that looks like um I like Jaden Springer a lot he’s probably the guy I am second most intrigued to watch in summer league behind behind who Jord Walsh Nish kada I want to see K really I’d put Walsh third I don’t know I I feel like with you know what the outline is like you know good defense three-point shots that’s what it’s going to be I’m I’m curious to see what Springer can do and then neimi I mean neim is just [ __ ] huge like that’s just gonna be fun um but I I I think I am most intrigued with Springer because I mean I’ve said it on all the free Agy stuff I think guard is a position that people are neglecting a little bit in terms of what the Celtics could need down the line because they’ve got perer but like holiday’s not getting any younger and then like once holiday retires you’re going to have I mean I guess you can play a little bigger and start Hower but like you’re going to need guard depth eventually in my opinion and so I I I think Springer is intriguing I I just like him as a prospect so anyways um I think that about does it for the summer league stuff um next thing from Adam himmelbach again uh coaches this isn’t like any actually there is some new news so um Sam Cassell is going to jump into Charles Lee’s spot as the head assistant boss auson uh DJ mlay Tony Dobbins Matt Reynolds are all going to move up a seat up up the line whatever um and then Celtics have hired two new uh Player Development and video coordinator SL video coordinator roles God sham God Jr and Deshawn Butler are gonna join the team sham God played for Missoula at Fairmont State and later coached with him there he spent this past season as assistant with the Delaware blue coachs and then Butler played with Missoula at West Virginia this is all per Adam h block thank you again shout out Adam I had a lengthy career overseas for getting into coaching was an assistant at West Virginia this past season um and yeah so new coaches new faces on the Celtics in God sham God Jr and deshun Butler uh while you talk I’m GNA pull up some of their highlights just because I think that’d be fun too showed Providence God sham God senior played there um it’s it’s good to see the guys that were around last year around years before kind of move up a little bit glad to see Sam casselle get promoted with from within it really shows some good loyalty to the coaching staff that Boston already has it’s nice to see him back I know there were rumors that he was going to go to Milwaukee to join doc as an assistant or perhaps take that Lakers job glad none of those things happen I think Cassell was a big part of you know some of the well all right or try this again comment section everyone comment comment uh uh I don’t know fireworks down below comment something stupid improvement within the team happened throughout That season and that wouldn’t happen without coach you know he was there all the time working with those guys encouraging them and he was taking questions from everybody like I really didn’t have anything to say to those guys because I felt bad that was the first time I’d ever been to a game as a press guy when it was actually a loss not used to that with the Celtics team so I didn’t know how to behave I was like I’ll just observe I’ll film the stuff so I have it for later um but no he really cared about the work that everybody that was there was doing so I really respected that about him and I wish the both of them luck and Charlotte I also I I did hear from Beyond you that buck is awesome so you know can can confirm I also don’t know for sure but in The Hornet’s official thing it lists him as an assistant coach not a Player Development coach so it looks like maybe he got a promotion uh in the general like landscape of NBA Celtics won a championship in 2008 do you recall that a lot of folks thought the big three would be good but not might wi might not win it their first year true fact uh and it wasn’t the yammering chatter heads we have now but veteran reporters who were skeptical about how quickly an imported team could coales into a title team me off um the next season much of the championship Squad returned with only Cassell Brown Pard and posie moving on they posted a 62 and 20 regular season record but lost in the second round to the Orlando Magic and Dwight Howard because they were unable to close without kg in 2010 while Tony Allen Eddie house and Glenn Davis remained for their championship roster their minutes dwindled to nothing as the finals ground a seven game uh the spark from 2008 was flickering and finally snuffed out when Danny traded Kendrick Perkins away The Following Season team still won but the magic had gone away the current Squad well I’d argue that last year was their version of Kevin gett getting in as christops only played 57 games the same as 0809 kg and appeared in only seven of the Celtics 19 playoff games but even with those limitations the Celtics brought home Banner 18 because they were prepared to win each game in its own fashion instead of losing members by the team of the team by attrition they’re back and ready to build on their camaraderie and experience and knowledge for one another even the Celtics will be without porzingis for the first two months of the season I believe they’ll be stronger than the last year’s squad one final bit of History Bill Russell won his first championship with the Celtics in his first season playing only 48 of the 72 games the reason he missed the third of the Season he was been busy winning an Olympic the Lamborghini at the trailer park and someone was like yeah uh yeah I mean they’re doing the best they can I feel like when you have situations like this it usually goes worse than you think it’s going to go probably like just thinking back of course the first example I think of is like Celtics related but like Ry Allen leaves they bring in Jason Terry and like team’s just not quite what it used to be um KD leaves the Warriors they bring in DLo team kind of sucks like they’re they’re trying to plug holes and I understand that this time they’re doing it more based on fit like they brought in guys that shoot DeAnthony Melton’s a pretty good two-way guy but ultimately those guys are going to lack the chemistry that Klay had with Steph Curry with Draymond with other players that have been there for substantial amounts of time it’s going to take time to rebuild we just talked about how important the continuity is on this successful Celtics team well the Warriors are starting a little bit in the hole in that respect but doesn’t mean they can’t be good I just am more like skeptical of of what we’re going to see from Golden State this year they could be good like pods could really be the guy that is ultimately the clay replacement that were kind ofing buddy heeled and pitching Mountain to be Kyle Anderson is a winning player too he played a really good Ro for the Timberwolves this year when they everybody was crowning them NBA champions two rounds in the playoffs so there is no denying that these are solid moves from the Warriors but do I think it’s going to fill the void and Etc D rozan fit on the Kings I like I’m in I I don’t hate it I think it makes sense you can get him in there as a probably secondary scoring option zamas simus doesn’t really have to focus as much at scoring as he can with rebounding playmaking all that other stuff he does really really [ __ ] well um and then D rozan come in be a bucket for them when he needs to be play solid defense and that’s about it hopefully hit down is open knock down his open threes I mean if you’re rolling out a lineup of let’s say dein Carter gets a start I don’t know if he will but like I’m just going to plug him in uh Darren Fox Devin Carter D rozan keeg and Mar sabonis that’s that’s a pretty good team that’s a pretty damn good team so I like the fit I I think for as much as I crop on players like Demar D rozan and Brendan Ingram they fit well in the right scenarios and I mean we’re talking about a guy 24 four and five last year on 4833 if the Kings can get him for pretty much nothing in a s trade that’s a damn good job so yeah it’d probably be like Harrison Barnes another thing but at that point like d rozen’s an upgrade for whatever they got going on at the point like I think it’s a good fit even though he’s old 34 going to be 35 for all next season not the Bulls player we thought was going to end up with Sacramento no but I kind of I almost like this better because it lines up with the is dear and fox gonna resign ET ET not gonna be a long Tri actually sign a trade would have to be at least a three-year deal so keep that in mind they would have to sign him to a three-year contract yeah I mean if you’re Sacramento you kind of have to do this with the fox decision looming over the franchise’s head because how often as the Kings do you get a player like like Fox to be on your team through the draft not very often so if he’s kind of indecisive whether or not he wants to be on your team going forward you probably do what you can to appease him and without absolutely gutting your roster as Jack read from the W quote Chicago is not really looking to take back big salaries so you don’t have to gut your team out too too much to bring them in um with that being said Barnes is probably not going to be there who has been a integral part of their team ever since they kind of resurfaced as a I don’t want to say contender but a legitimate playoff piece or of the West a competent basketball team yes a competitive team um but D rozan will fill that void and he gives you a little bit more of the bucket getting style that Barnes kind of had when he left the Warriors like he went to Dallas and he was doing pretty good work as a semi- primary guy then he ends up in Sacramento and he’s able to take a little bit of a back seat but D rozan will definitely be an upgrade for them I’d be interested to see how works out I actually like that fit a lot for D rozan and the king so i’ yeah I’d be very intrigued to see uh next thing another Lori Market an update we talked about it last episode of uh he could be being shopped apparently the Warriors have a deal on the table or they have offered it it’s from Tony Jones of the athletic golden state has an offer on the table and it’s substantial for Lori Markin I think offers are heavily pick based what complicates it is the Warriors only have two unprotected picks plus the protected first rounder other Reports say that Miami is ALS oh this is just you other Reports say Miami is also interested marketing uh Miami’s interest makes sense I think the Warriors would be so fun you’d have to imagine be like Wiggins those in those three picks and probably had enough to get the Jazz to bite maybe have to throw a Moses moody maybe have to throw whatever I mean if you could roll out Steph Curry Brandon pimpy we’ll say kaminga green marinan and then you run green at the center that’s a huge really good lineup like Curry psky marinan kuminga Draymond that is fun that is really good that’s probably a playoff team in the Washington conference the issue is Markin is going to be a free agent after this year any team that trades for him probably needs to be like okay Lori you’re gonna resign right you’re gonna be back right or else you’re taking a huge risk um we talked about potential Landing spots but I think Miami obviously makes sense too I mean I would dis like that as a Celtics guy but um yeah Golden State I think is super fun I think Golden State’s got a little bit of a center problem on their hands just as we like discuss the potential lineups like I know they still have Looney it kind of feels like in this situation Draymond would have to be the bench guy you don’t always have to like have a TR Center yeah but like then you kind of lack some size I know you have switch ability and D performs based on the quality of the food in each City in which he plays it so the results are up on Reddit I’m currently making a note in the sheet so I don’t have the post right in front of me uh standby all righty uh I can pull up the post if you want to read off my screen okay I have okay post reads I Zion Williamson’s performance in every NBA City to see if there is a correlation between his game score in the city’s restaurant ranking this comes from user minimum hyphen conference 61 user writes everyone in NBA circles knows about Zion’s struggle with weight and as portrayed by the media this made me curious to see if a city’s quality of restaurants affects Zion’s game score steps firstly I created a restaurant ranking for all NBA cities in which I combine the restaurant rankings for NYC and Brooklyn excluded Toronto because most rankings are for the United States only secondly I went through all of Zion’s game logs on basketball reference then I entered all the away away games into a Google spreadsheet with the location of the away cities and the game score for that given game thirdly the user entered every City’s restaurant ranking alongside its location and game score for whichever games were played in that City then finally they created a scatter plot for each of Zion’s season which included in a away game with the city’s restaurant ranking in Zion’s game score in that game the conclusion of the experiment the the the research in over four years of Zion games in which he has a significant injury that keeps him out hold on this is written very strange standby so I’m going to this word for word in conclusion over Zion four years of playing games in the NBA in Seasons which he has a significant injury that keeps out more than 50% of the Season there is a correlation between a city having better restaurants and Zion playing better and vice versa but in years which Zion plays over 75% of the game so when he’s healthy there is no significant correlation either way so when you have Slim’s eye on basically is what this user has found like we saw this season where he got bullied so bad after coming out in that semifinal in Vegas out of shape he got himself into shape and when he plays over 75% of the games doesn’t matter so much hey you know what this [ __ ] tells me when he’s not hurt for a lot of games he probably plays all day all day I only had one seven on the scorecard so I was all like six and unders on every other which is really or maybe two SS really good day for me what’s the average par at your course five four it’s not good for I’m saying for my standards par is like 70 context par is like 72 and I’m happy if I break a 100 like you know what I’m saying like standards you think you’d be better at golf no I’m like no absolutely not it’s uh under breaking a 100 is like like good for a bad golfer if that makes sense you know what I’m saying like it is breaking 100 is the golf version of the pat Bev celebrating on the scorers table in the playin kind of I mean you know barol you know Trent right they did a whole series Breaking a 100 I you know I’m not watching I’m not sitting here watching do you know who that is though do you know who barol Trent is is he play thing yes yes they did a whole series for him breaking 100 then one breaking 90 like that’s like the standard like for bad to average golfers um and I shot a 96 today so I was pretty good I felt like it felt good all day and and part of it is just like it feels good 18th tall I got a nine not good yeah oh my God you want to talk about a joke literally I could have got like a 93 like my best score ever is a 91 so I could have like had my best score ever um I had a good first shot laid up my second shot then I went in the water or the [ __ ] had to drop then I missed the green went back in the sand then I couldn’t get out of the sand it was I just made a whole mess of it but my day was not as bad as my friend Mike’s day Mike is another guy moving in with in September one of my friends uh Mike did not have a good day well let me phrase Mike had a great first nine he played well got his hopes exactly and then like three holes into the back nine it all fell apart and by the top so we finished the 17th hole of 18 obviously and Mike gets so mad he just drops the ball behind the green and just swings and just like blasts the ball into the woods like he’s just like like it’s the equivalent of I took a driver right here and just smashed into my computer he just chucked into the woods like like full on just hit it full into the woods he goes that was the best contact I made all day he’s just like heading hand it’s like man and I’m again I’m golfing again on Sunday and you have like custom golf balls that you use so you know it’s yours uh I just like take a sharpie and write a little Jay on mine but there’s like different brands and you say oh I’m playing this brand playing this brand playing this brand yeah I guess you can’t invest because you’re afraid you’re gonna lose them yeah my balls are also or excuse me my clubs are also like really bad for me this is like getting way too into the golf terminology but like my clubs are really like skinny so there’s not a lot of um like the face of the club is like like the width of my phone there’s not a lot of service area if you hit the ball no not even it’s like the the width of it is a blade whatever so there’s not a lot of forgiveness like like there there’s clubs that are like have like a little back on it so it’s like a fatter Club so there’s more forgiveness there’s more leniency but mine are really old and they were gifted to me so like I and I’m not I’m not like the point of a blade is so you can control it better and like put spin on it and shut I I can’t [ __ ] spin the ball that’s just like useless to me um but I need new clubs and uh I’m not ponying up new clubs new golf clubs are expensive I run you a grand yeah right just play basketball ball cost you $60 yeah I I have I do I do both I was gifted to these clubs I didn’t pay for these clubs rat list Frank um today today I I wouldn’t completely call it raged off Xbox but I raged off Xbox for like the first time time in probably like five years no three three years I think I was still doing 2K leagu probably three years ago so we’re playing pro clubs on FIFA and Frank and I are running a break two onone and Frank recognizes that it is time to make the pass and Frank does make the pass however Frank hits the wrong button and [ __ ] does a cross makes my guy back up and lets the defense catch up then once our possession is over the other team runs down and scores and we lose I almost spiked my controller pressing the wrong button is so [ __ ] funny it’s just like it’s tough because I know he just doesn’t really play that much and this the feel for the game isn’t I mean I don’t play FIFA that much anymore but I played a lot of FIFA in my day was it just you do in clubs yeah I was playing the any position let me know next time I’ll run clubs I love clubs clubs you were probably golf when we were playing today but I will let you know probably but anyways he costes the game and he’s he’s not experienced enough for me to really get mad at him so I just had to get off yeah pro clubs has not been that great of in theory it’s fun but it’s no M will be the show I can just picture FR go oh [ __ ] [ __ ] wait he he knew he [ __ ] up I know exactly it was a very similar like when you oversleep and there’s really nothing I can say to you like I’m not going to give you [ __ ] about it you know you made the mistake it’s like that I haven’t done that in a while KN you pick your spots real good you make sure it’s a day that we have the smallest window to do anything it’s true um what else I just golf man I don’t got nothing for you I get like a flat tire or something on the way to golf spice up the day great it was awesome I’m trying to think uh I made I’m trying to like I’m not even thinking of ratl [ __ ] anymore I’m think of like stuff that I did I made fried rice the other night which was awesome really good P myself really you’re talking about making rice yeah it was great it was fried r no I I like I made the chicken I marinated I cut it up I fried it I made the eggs cut off the veggies and threw it all together was good meal um I’m really grasping a straws here I don’t jack talk about fireworks oh yeah fireworks you hate fireworks well there weren’t many near me this year really aren’t top of mine yeah it was nice uh Fourth of July socks man it’s got to be like bottom five three holiday it just like it’s not even Independence Day by the way did you know that really no it’s not I’m serious day signed the thing right yeah but it’s no no no okay this is Independence Day aren’t you a you’re a history major right I am um you got the bag tell you what why you look that up Fourth of July this year Prime real estate on Thursday Prime real estate making that Friday a free day off America declared their independence on the 4th but didn’t like it’s not on July 2nd they voted to declare independence but tell you fireworks suck fireworks are stupid you know what I thought the other day fireworks are the adult equivalent of jiggling keys in front of a baby’s face it is pointless nothingness this is how web article Westerly police continue investigate a fireworks related death that occurred earlier this year according to Chief Paul gingerella the cause of 39-year-old David zyen F’s death on May 12th was determined to be a blast injury to the Head gingerella said it appeared that zingan us and others were messing around with fireworks at a home on Pond Road when a mortar style firework was put on his head and set off terrible Across the Nation Across the Nation July 4th this year 9,700 people were treated for fireworks injuries are we [ __ ] stupid eight people died fourth actually Darwin day what are we yeah dude it’s like it’s the most pointless thing it it is top five dumbest things on the planet fireworks so pointless so unbelievably did you see the one that was like the eagle those are a little better cuz it’s like a point just exploding [ __ ] in random colors is one thing like it making like pretty cool stuff in this guy like I guess you get a little bit like making shapes party or fourth of July party some [ __ ] and I don’t think it was this year somebody just like lit off a flashbang in the the party what the [ __ ] yeah my friend Joe was like he was like yeah I couldn’t all I could see was white and I couldn’t hear anything for like 35 seconds I thought I was dead like you know would think I was dead too that’s insane that’s that’s like the like the deathly equivalent of a firework no that’s how it came up I think we were talking about fireworks that’s crazy uh ratas Grace uh Grace went out or hung out with her friends Fourth of July got drunk as you do whatever that’s not the point point is she comes like I have to drive Henry I to drive Henry to work this morning because he doesn’t have a car and my parents or my mom and my stepdad were on the cape for fourth July they go every year right two-day thing whatever um and Henry has to go to work at like 7:30 now if you know me Henry was working today yeah Henry had to work today tough um new guy if you have listened to the show for a while you know not really a morning person not me not about it you are I 7:30 but my sister was like can you drive me home from this party I’m like sure whatever I don’t think she knew that I had to be up to drive H to work but it gets to like 1:00 a.m. like hey Grace when you come home she goes I don’t know I’m like okay I she goes okay and then it gets to like 140 like almost two and she goes never mind someone’s here sober they can drive me home like are you [ __ ] kidding me brother and then and then she gets home 215 Jack I’m like bro I’m like mad yeah I’m like half asleep in my bed I’m like and I do the thing where I like give half-hearted responses like get the hint and her boyfriend’s like all right we’re done like like getting the hit I’m like
