Washington Wizards Sign Jonas Valančiūnas My Thoughts!!
yo what’s going on guys this Houston Sports Talk Back in another video today and today the Washington Wizards are signing yonas valent chunis to a this this deal just shocked me a three-year $30 million deal for Jonas valent Tunis I’ll tell you all why this deal shocked me the reason why I said this deal shocked me is because of the talent that the Wizards I mean it’s not really talent but the the depth that the Wizards already have at the center position center and power forward position you have at the center position you just drafted Alex sawar second overall uh which he’s going to be a great addition so you have Alex SAR you just gave a really big deal to ran Holmes a two-year $25.9 million deal to ran Holmes and also he can play center but more more at the power forward position you have Marvin baggley so already three guys you know in that power forward Center position and then you add in yonis valent Tunis I was not expecting that I didn’t think the Pelicans were going to resign him I know he had a market with the Lakers so I thought he might end up in LA with with with LA uh with the LA Lakers but I did not expect the Wizards not because they’re a terrible team just because the fact that the depth that they already have at the center position but Jonas Valen chunis 32 years old was the fifth overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft is going to the Washington Wizards he spent his time with the Toronto Raptors the Memphis Grizzlies and the New Orleans Pelicans this past season he played 82 games with 23 point .5 minutes per game it’s the lowest minutes per game since his rookie season in his first three first two seasons with the Pelicans he got 25 minutes per game in the 2223 season and 30 in the 2122 season this year was only at 23 his field goal percentage was 56% he averaged 12 points per game with nine rebounds per game and one block per game field goal percentage was this past season field goal percentage was already went over that 56% 2022 23 season with the Pelicans in decent minutes 25 at night 79 games 79 starts with them he ended up getting 14.1 points per game 10.2 rebounds per game two assists per game and one block per game and from the floor with New Orleans he shot 55% from three he shot 35% on one and a half attemp per game with New Orleans in the 2021-22 season the last year I will go over he averaged 30.3 minutes per game with 74 games 74 starts from the floor he shot 54% from three with New Orleans I don’t think he shot often but he shot oh yeah decent amount for a center two a game 36% from three he averaged 18 points per game with 11.4 rebounds per game three assists per game nearly one steel per game and one block per game so look I think this is a great addition for the Wizards I think those minutes are going to go up for Jonas look only 23 minutes per game for New Orleans I think that’s definitely going to go up with with the wizards but at the same time you you you know you’re playing playing with a lot of centers you know on this roster so uh I think the minutes are going to it’s going to be interesting to see where the minutes go to obviously I think yonis will be their starter uh will Alex SAR potentially start at the power forward instead of the center position and what happens with Marvin baggley and ran Holmes they just gave a huge deal to ran Holmes so I’m interested to see what happens with Holmes and what happens with also Marvin Bagley let me your thoughts and peace out
