NBA TRADE RUMORS: The Best Trade Scenarios for the Miami Heat

[Music] one [Applause] shot welcome back to the team to beat Miami Heat podcast my name is Amir before I get into today’s episode just want to thank everybody for following the channel and following that Miami’s best case scenario for a trade is a really good player asks out in the next two months and that team likes the Miami Heats assets not inconceivable worst case the heat are the eighth seed once again several above them have improved and get Boston again East still has enough hot guard rebuilding teams to make the play in if that’s the Miami Heats reality that is super sad and unfortunate one we know that this Miami Heat team needs to retool the Miami Heat also needs to pick a direction and right now they’re continuing to do their Blended build where they’re trying to develop some young pieces as well as win a championship with Jimmy but specifically as their aging Allstar or former Allstar for that but right now it’s been difficult for this Miami Heat team with their Asset Management in the past with the fact that this Miami Heat does not tank and rebuild they have not had top 10 picks in a very very long time the last time they had a top 10 pick was when they had the 10th pick and drafted Justice Winslow so it’s really hard this day and age to to build a true Contender or even Dynasty without one getting top five you know six seventh you know draft picks so within the top seven and having one of those players become a All-Star or Superstar as well as adding other pieces through trade and you have to be bad sometimes in order to reset and become good again and that even happened with the Miami Heat think about it like in 1998 um through 2001 or so the Miami Heat were competing every year against the New York Knicks in the playoffs and the heat were a topse team when they traded for Alonzo morning and they weren’t able to ultimately win a championship which is unfortunate luckily in 06 they were able to do that and help Alonzo Morty win his first championship with the Miami Heats I was happy for that moment but we had to be bad for a few years in order to get that top five pick which we drafted Dwayne Wade and sometimes again you have to be bad it doesn’t mean you have to tank but you have to rebuild through the draft and teams like the Cavs obviously getting LeBron James of course he went back he didn’t win a championship with them until he came to Miami but the Cavs because they drafted LeBron still were able to to win a championship and have a ton of great years with LeBron before he left and then came back the Golden State Warriors were a dynasty because they drafted clay Steph and Draymond and then of course ultimately they built their team through the draft and took them a while to get a championship they finally did and then they won two more because they added Kevin Durant through trades right so or free agency whatever it was and so teams like that have benefited teams like the bucks even though Giannis was a lucky pick at the 15th spot and ended up becoming a superstar they still drafted Middleton and Giannis which helped them win a championship same with the Denver Nuggets again very lucky team that got Nicola y yic in the second round but they they drafted Jamal Murray and they drafted Michael Porter so they weren’t that great and they were able to get some good first round picks and making some moves like adding an Aaron Gordon and a kcp who won a championship with the Lakers so you know the recipe for a lot of these teams that have won in the past 10 15 years have done it through a combination of the draft getting good early lottery picks and then making good trades or signing good free agents and so the Miami Heat haven’t had the best asset management and we could throw the front office under the bus for that of course but every organization goes through bumps they’re still a top class organization but again waiting for another whale to ask out request a trade even say Miami is a top destination like KD did in the past like Mitchell did in the past like Dame obviously did last year we can’t expect that like as a winning formula like we’ve struck out every time for the past five six years it seems like even going back to like a Gordon Hayward when he was in his prime we had the meaning we got the meaning but we weren’t able to close so I don’t know what we do or what players going to ask out in two months there’s been rumors that a player like a cat can ask out whoever um of that caliber you know I don’t know who else could be rumored to to want to leave but I don’t think that’s like the winning formula right now for the Miami Heat and it’s tough because again we have no direction and you know we have Jimmy Butler under contract next year with a player option the following like we don’t know how that’s going to pan out we you know bam is extending and we have some youthful assets like haime hakz and yic that are on this roster now kle we and um pel Larson as well so we’re getting some young Assets in our system but do we go full like youth movement like soft rebuild because it’s not gonna be a full rebuild because we have bam and a bio but if we lose Jimmy berler midseason or so if we finally give up on that hope that we can win a championship for Jimmy do we trade him for cap space or do we trade him for two first round picks so that in 2025 2026 2027 we either have the cap space or the draft Capital to help build around bam Tyler if he’s still here Y yovic and haime I mean all those four guys I mentioned in kle a who’s 19 years old you know haime is 23 Tyler’s 24 Bam’s 26 yic is just turned 21 so like there’s a moving across the NBA and especially in the west and we see these teams doing really well and then of course these teams also they did it through the draft and more so the lottery early Lottery like I keep mentioning but also then they have the assets the draft picks to add in different types of players and make different types of Moves Like The Thunder have been doing obviously drafting people trading for Shay um now getting Caruso on this team um adding Isaiah harinstein so you got to do it through the draft you got to to do it through trade but again sometimes it’s not the worst thing to not be the best miss the playoffs a couple years not intentionally to tank but to rebuild and you know go young and and allow players like Tyler if he’s going to be on this team um and Bam and yovic and haime and kalle to develop together so I don’t know I don’t know how well this Miami Heat team can be currently constructed they have 13 um people under current contracts after waving Orlando Robinson today and I don’t know what else they can do honestly that’s going to move the needle right now unless we can get a Trey young type of player but that might be difficult we don’t know if the Hawks are willing to trade him I don’t think a Brandon Ingram moves the needle enough to trade for him I mean even a Lowry marke in would be great but it seems like talks are cooling off that he might not be available but his cost would be too High anyway um I did look it up and we do only have one tradable first round pick in 2030 I believe right now at this point so it’s going to be really hard but like does Lowry marinen make this Heat team a championship team no definitely not does it make us compete and give us a shot sure but we’re not a favorite we’re not going to be Lea frogging Boston with that move we’re not going to be leap frogging the Sixers on paper for now um but it could give us a chance if we got Larry Markin in to be a I don’t know anywhere from four to five perhaps maybe a three at best um assuming that Jimmy Butler could stay healthy which is a big assumption because it never happens but yeah I don’t know this tweet by Barry you know saying this is the best case best case scenario is waiting in the next two months during this offseason that a team actually wants Tyler hero a team that actually wants maybe a Duncan Robinson or a Terry roir the pieces that we have to offer based on the contract value that they have those are the guys that we have to move um in order to get a good player back um unless the team has cap space like the Jazz and are willing to take all of our young guys but again I don’t think Pat Riley and Mickey and SPO want to go in that direction they just kind of want to take this Blended build approach maybe have one more shot with Jimmy baller next season and if that doesn’t pan out either trade him or figure it out from there and just try to you know ride the Jimmy or the bam haime yovic and Tyler youth movement moving forward but anyway yeah this this Miami Heat team doesn’t have a ton of options right now but anything can happen honestly crazier things have happened we thought we were going to get Dame and I thought that was a lock and that didn’t happen so maybe the opposite can happen where someone we thought we have no chance of getting somehow becomes available somehow gets on this Miami Heat team you never know um listening to lock on you know heat West was saying and David were saying like did you guys expect that the Boston Celtics were going to get Drew holiday like in September or October even before the season started and then that ultimately helped them win you know a championship among with other um moves like KP obviously but still they didn’t I’m sure Boston didn’t expect that was going to happen with their off season and and that happened and that helped put them over the top because he’s now you know Drew holiday a two-time NBA champion one of the best two-way players in the NBA so who knows maybe something like that can happen but that’s all I have for today’s video a little somber right now just because it’s tough right now being a Heat fan but it’s also good being a Heat fan so if you’re a loyal Heat fan in a lifer we’ll figure it out you know it might take some time might have to reset and it sucks that we haven’t won a championship with Jimmy baller yet but who the hell knows crazier things have happened during offseasons and maybe if we think positively Something Good Can Happen to this team but if not then we enjoy the development and growth of bam yovic hwz and klew and maybe a few other pieces so anyway thanks for watching guys hope you
