we got foot he’s saying we don’t need to get rid of capella right now remember okay you have to bring that money back if you trade it that’s a lot of money for another mid player so what are your thoughts on that because I think that is that is being overlooked you know when you have hunters what 20 or excuse me um Clint 22 million well you got to bring that money back and does that really make sense for the Hawks Lo long term so what’s your thoughts on that I mean I’m not saying it doesn’t make sense I mean cuz it makes perfect sense it does but it’s just you know for what the Hawks normally are trying to do as a organization I think they’re still trying to get rid of either or or still both you know saying capella and everything to still stay stay right where they want as far as um as far as what they want to spend and being in the luxury tax I think they still want to move them I think they still want to get off that 22 mil I really do I mean regardless if you keep them um he’s still serviceable I know he’s not the Clint that that you know we all like in the beginning when he first got here you know a lot of us was like okay when we seen the pick and roll with him and Trey High worked so well and U him blocking shots like how he used to but he’s getting older you know he’s an older guy he’s dealt with some injuries especially with his legs um I feel like you know he did get his legs back a little bit last year but most of the time Quint Clint looks like he’s losing his lift so that’s another thing want to get ahead of the curve but I I can’t disagree with it I can’t disagree with this statement at all though I can’t because he’s not wrong you know he’s not wrong it’s just us as a fan base I already know we still want to move off this contract if that that if that’s possible yeah so I mean in your mind though you have Clint on an expiring deal are you moving him to save cap you know do something that we’ve seen the hwks do the past couple of Seasons or gonna move him and his money to try to get a player get a starter like if you do move him how do you think the Hawks will approach it you said if we do move him what now how the house approach it right like are you are you moving him to dump the salary or you moving him to get a piece because again you kind of match the money so right you know you gonna get a guy you’re gonna just end up cut anyway or you know how do you think the Hawks will you know go about looking from how things um how things have gone I think it would be more of a salary dump type of a thing possibly um I just I mean it it doesn’t even come from just basic front office things it’s just what what we have seen I just don’t trust that the ownership and the front office really want to you know saying to keep these players really want to um you know spend more money I haven’t seen that that’s all I’m saying so I have no faith in that when I haven’t seen that we’ll see what happens with it um um for me again I feel like Clint I understand what foot is saying and shout out to him too you know say being a Chris you and all that stuff but Clint doesn’t for me Clint does not jump the same way that he did when he first got here again he’s getting older again he’s had some lower leg injuries so yeah he has I’m sorry he yes he is not he doesn’t even he doesn’t even catch the lobs the same way as high as he used to he has a little bit I ain’t saying it’s completely gone but it’s the little things and the details that you got to notice go back and look at 2021 look at 2022 all the way up until now and just look at just the height difference of his jumps and just his movements last year he was more healthy than he was the year before that and he’s and he still hasn’t had the same effect from 2021 I mean if if I’m wrong let me know but I mean I don’t see it I I think I I think you’re not wrong but I think to foot’s point it’s like okay we he’s still getting rebounds and all this stuff I I I get that I’m just looking past all those little things I guess not necessarily that per se but it’s okay he’s had a off season he should be able to recover you know he’s not a bad player to keep on an expiring deal to your point if you’re gon if you’re gonna trade him to dump salary would damn you might as well just keep him and let his contract come off the book so I kind of see what foot saying with the whole narrative you know there’s a couple narratives running around that that hunter or excuse me Clint can’t jump over a dollar bill everyone’s been saying that the past couple weeks and then that Hunter I heard that one Dam yeah yeah man you know everyone’s been jumping on this bandwagon that Clint is just the worst center of all time but even if that’s true okay well let’s keep him for another season in that case and just don’t the Sal or you know let his contract again come off the books so I just think that’s interesting that you can see the Hawks dumping his salary but you don’t see him you know just being a valuable player for us for one more season like you think his knees that bad no I don’t I I didn’t say that I didn’t say that again we’re talking about the money factor um Clinton himself is a serviceful center he’s been that but you know as us again as a fan base we want to you know get younger we would prefer to get Young again it takes two to tango I know folks was Ling uh thinking we may get Walker Keesler and who never knows we never know what still is out there that’s why I want to wait until Tuesday to see exactly what the Hawks do and if we do go in with the with this lineup then guess what it’s just saying that we’re going into a different direction we’re seeing how these pieces these four pieces because uh they I seen that they introduced all four of the Players yesterday uh well via VIA Twitter and everything so it seems like that it’s going to going to go that way you know um we’ll see exactly what happens y I don’t want I it’s I want to go into it I really want to get into it but I really want to try to stay Pat where I was at and just wait till Tuesday to see what happens and then if nothing happens I feel like we all will have a better understanding of exactly where we’re going to go because right now it’s still kind of up in the air we can say oh yeah we we we Linked In with Clint then next thing you know Clint’s gone and we’ll see what happens you know or Clint stays you know so again this is just a chop up this is just you know seeing what we got going on present day but again for me I just want to wait until Tuesday to see but I would not be mad if we kept Clint capella especially at this point with the moves that’s been made um I wouldn’t be mad with Clint capella where I just I just think that something else may be coming but either way it Go whether it does or doesn’t you know I wouldn’t be necessarily mad I just want a better direction of where this franch it’s going yeah yeah man main problem is uh the GM in the front office we have made some bad moves again so that’s why another reason fan base let’s fan base at the end of the day we all on the same boat we all trying to figure out what’s going on with this logo you dig you know we can have different opinions about different players and whatnot but at the end of the day man I’m just trying to win and I want winning players I want to win in franchise I’m tired of being the butt of people jokes you know it just I’m just just ready to see where this franchise is going so we’ll see what happens in the next coming days y’all yeah it’s definitely going to be interesting man like as of now um we still have some options you know like you said Clint is probably one of the guys that can be moved because of his contract because his age where we’re going whether we trade Clint or not do you think we’re quietly rebuilding or do you think we’re trying to compete like and and Chris I we we get it you’re a sports fan you’re a Hawks fan you want us to win but fact but but you know from your observation do this look like a quiet rebuild or do you think we really trying to compete um I think it started off as a retool I think we was trying to like just retool you know get off of the DJ contract um see what we can get and mean hey at the end of the day you really can’t be mad at the return you know because you got you got some you got four players and two picks for one player you know so I’m just saying bro I mean regardless they may not be Superstars but when it’s like that you you can’t be mad at the trade at all and you got two first rounders out of it um you see Demar de rozan go to the Kings I’m hoping that he get them boys to the playoffs so we can get that extra pick you know what I’m talking about so you know it it there is is you know saying Hope on the horizon for the Atlanta Hawks because if you have all that to work with again with a formidable team of guys who just want to get after it play defense stop the other team and you know saying just ride the wave with Trey and JJ because JJ gonna have to step up at this point that’ll be another thing too if you make no other moves then that means yes we have confidence that JJ is going to go from 15 from 14- 15 and go higher how much higher that’s up to JJ and coaching staff but um but yeah man um I think it it started off as a retool I still don’t want to call it a quiet rebuild I don’t want to call it a rebuild at all because because um a rebuild isn’t a good thing that you want to a good a signal you want to send to a guy who um who you’re trying to build around and Trey young and honestly if this is a rebill then it’s a possibility that we won’t have Trey in a couple Seasons anyway so it it can’t be a rebuild I feel like this is a retool let’s let’s get rid of DJ our bad you know I’m saying this this didn’t work out this is not working out let’s get ahead of that instead of uh continuing to let it just go down the hill uh so they got ahead of that now and they’re turning the team into a different direction we it’s going it’s going to definitely be a more defensive team I believe they are trying to compete by retooling um and as you see bringing in these four players they’re not household names but if they can be serviceable they can stop players and we can work on the chemistry together as they’re showing you know in the DJ highlights thank you five in the back yeah DJ did a lot of great things here you know s salute to him that’s cool but it’s time to move forward y’all just time to move forward and I don’t think that they’re rebuilding I just think they’re retooling now I mean I know other people may feel this may feel differently because like how are we retooling with some of these players but again man you’re getting better on defense and we sucked on defense the last few years period no matter who is on the team so we got to get better in that aspect so that’s what I believe that the Hawks are doing they are retooling not rebuilding hey it it sounds good man it sounds good I mean it’s definitely possible you know you add in R you know he can be a guy that helps you keep moving I mean that’s what you would expect at your first pick right someone that can come in and make some type of impact but man it’s just not looking good in my opinion when you’re looking at the rest of the East you know the teams that were ahead of us are now even better you know the teams that we couldn’t beat you know are now better than us I mean again just looking at the Eastern Conference standings from last season CTIC are the Champs you know they’re still going to be tough to beat they’re going to be bringing back their core you look at the Knicks they went out got Bridges you know they’re trying to bring vova to New York City that’s a team yeah I mean and again you know those are a group of guys that were able to win together so they should definitely be an improved team you look at Milwaukee they haven’t really made any moves but they still have Giannis they still have Dame and this is a team we’ve haven’t been able to beat you know so I’m not too confident that we’ll be able to beat them next season especially in the playoff series the Cavs you know we see what they’re doing they’re keeping their core magic they added some pieces
