The problem with relying on new/young players has to do with team chemistry and whether we want to meet/exceed last year’s performance.
Historically, one of the two #1 seeds (east or west) has won the NBA championship about 65% of the time (54 of the 77 if memory serves). A #2 seed has won about 18 of those that remain. All the rest were won by the #3 seed, except for two times. Moral of the story? Teams that lead the league in the standings tend to win the trophy.
You don’t win a lot of regular season games by playing a lot of unproven players.
I’ll take whatever moves the coaches think gives us the best chance to get to the WCF again.
