LeBron James Decision Just Ruined The Lakers

LeBron James Decision Just Ruined The Lakers

LeBron James probably takes that full Max bronny has earned this through hard work it’s most important that they’re below that second apron when we get to February doesn’t have to be right now I know it’s only been one day since we last made a video on the Los Angeles Lakers but LeBron James just made his decision and now we kind of have an idea of what the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers off season is about to look like and I’ll give you a little bit of a spoiler it’s pretty much the same as each and every off season they’ve had so far so before we get to the content we are let Le than 45,000 subscribers away from getting to 1 million subscribers if you guys have been enjoying the content during the off season make sure you check your subscribed to help us reach that goal and now that we get all that out of the way do the intro [Music] [Music] mik check 1212 what’s going on everybody in our last video we discussed the absurdity of what was going on with the Los Angeles Lakers in their off season I mean originally they were aiming for Dan Hurley but eventually they settled for JJ reck they did a great job in the first round of the NBA draft drafting Dalton connect and then they selected bronny with the 55th overall pick in the second round of the NBA draft which isn’t something that ever bothered me primarily because what else were you going to do with the 50 5th overall pick in the NBA draft but ever since then things have been getting a little weird for the Los Angeles Lakers free agency started and they missed out on Deonte Murray they missed out on Chris Paul which I don’t really blame them because it’s not like they were willing to offer Chris Paul $1 million like the Spurs were they missed out on Klay Thompson because Klay Thompson viewed the Los Angeles Lakers to be as toxic of an organization as the Golden State Warriors they missed out on James Harden because they weren’t going to pay James Harden $35 million a year annually and they missed out on known as valent Tunis this is despite LeBron saying that he was willing to take a pay cut meanwhile the Los Angeles Lakers were doing this I clarify one thing you just said which is Rob and and and I did not give bronnie anything bronnie has earned this right bronnie talks about his hard work bronnie has earned this through hard work and I guess the reason why I’m so upset about this is because all other teams are making significant strides in their organizations while the Spurs are getting Chris Paul while the Sixers are getting Paul George while the Dallas Mavericks are stealing Klay Thompson the Lakers are sitting there and saying this how much more pressure is on you playing on a team with your father and how you how you going to handle that pressure um for sure the Amplified amount of pressure um I’ve already seen it stuff media and stuff on the in the internet and stuff talking about I um might not deserve an opportunity but you know I’ve been dealing with stuff like this for my whole life um so it’s it’s it’s nothing different but it’s it’s it’s more Amplified for sure but I get through it oh my God and I guess I have some PTSD because I also run an NFL channel called microphone yes I am a Dallas Cowboy fan I was born in Dallas leave me alone and before someone calls me a bandwagon fan in the comment section both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Maverick stink what the is there to bandwagon at that point but I was surprised instead of prioritizing Chase free agents were having this grandiose presentation for bronny James and Dalton connect is just kind of sitting there on the side before this man even played in the summer league he signed a 4year $7.9 million contract with the Lakers to give you an idea of how absurd that is Kyle guy Jay scrub Aaron Wiggins and gu Santos are the most recent 55 overall picks in the NBA draft Kyle guy Jay scrub and Aaron Wiggins were all signed to two-way contracts we Santos was a $75,000 guaranteed bronny James was $4.4 Million guaranteed so we’re just all willy-nilly giving out money to bronny James just for the sake of it so this aside the Lakers plan for Brony James isn’t that insane to be honest W says that the Lakers expect that he will largely be a g-league player like almost any 19-year-old player coming into the league drafted into the second round but I think you will ultimately see as bronny James in the first week of the season on the court with his father and a very well I don’t want to call it ceronio but the eyes of the world will be on that they’ll do that the first week of the season but there’s no expectation that bronny James is going to be in the Lakers rotation he’ll spend a lot of his time playing with their g-league which shares a practice facility with the Lakers I love how W is just trying to make this as normal as possible but to be honest I kind of stopped trusting WJ on all things bronny when he said this yeah Brony James is going to have an impact for organizations not just on the basketball side but potentially on the business side he’s almost assuredly going to start in the g-league he will pack g-league Arenas uh merchandising all of those make him an attractive uh player whether it’s late first round or second round um so I think certainly his opportunity to play in the NBA is there so I know what you guys might be thinking Mike you’ve been talking about Bron way too much should you talk about anything else yes I can a huge problem that the Lakers were having up until this point that was actually causing a lot of anxiety for me is the fact that they’re currently running around oh look at us we drafted LeBron son this is such a beautiful moment when JJ reic still wasn’t able to hire any assistance and they weren’t able to get any additional free agent help up until this point the Lakers assistant head coaching search didn’t look so good according to Anthony Irwin La the Lakers have tried to hire Terry STS three times and STS turned La down all three times eventually opting to join the Golden State Warriors but the Lakers would hire two former head coaches in order to help JJ reck the first one being Nate McMillan who’s credited for taking the Atlanta Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals and their very successful playoff run during the 2021 playoffs the same playoff run that featured the Knicks chanting this about Trey young to be back in the postseason the same playoff run that featured Ben Simmons passing out of a wide open layup and ultimately he got dismissed because the Atlanta Hawks definitely took a step back I personally don’t think it was Nate McMillan’s fault I think the front office didn’t really make the greatest choices and the Atlanta Hawks have some very different years ahead of them as a result of it but then on top of that JJ reck is also bringing in Scott Brooks and I personally love the addition of Scott Brooks this is a guy that’s coached many stars in the NBA Kevin Durant James Harden Sergey Baka Russell Westbrook on two different occasions Bradley Beal and whenever you have a rookie head coach you want to ensure that he is surrounded by veteran head coaches I love these hires for JJ reick and I hope it results in him having a successful coaching tenure with the Lakers but at this point you might be thinking Mike I clicked on this video to figure out what LeBron’s decision is what do you talking about well if you guys remember in the very beginning of free agency LeBron James stated that he would be willing to take a pay cut for James Harden Klay Thompson Jonas valent chunis or even Demar D rozan and when they struck out on all those players w said this and so for the Lakers you know I think ultimately LeBron James probably takes that full Max because the kind of impact player they H hope they could get is not available to them well it seems like the decision was officially made according to Shams Tanna just in LeBron plans to sign a 2year $14 million maximum deal to return to the Los Angeles Lakers sources tell at the athletic the second apron is at 189 right now they’re at 190 it’s most important that they’re below that second apron when we get to February doesn’t have to be right now here and I think when you’re looking at it from the Lakers perspective there’s certainly a lot of different Avenues as far as where they can go I think one of them is certainly when we look at a player like Christian w if you feel like you can’t make a trade you can wave Christian Wood and stretch his money out over 3 years that would save you 2 million and that would get you under the second apron you could do that right now if you want but it’s all about getting under by the end of next year next year a couple things about the apron just so we’ve got some clarification here the Lakers can still even though they’re over can still trade D’Angelo Russell and Ru hachimura together as long as they are below that 189 number it’s the post trans actional number as long as they get by below that they can’t take back more money right now so they’re pressed right at that second apron why it’s important that they’re under when we get to februaries if they are over their 2032 first round pick becomes Frozen they won’t have the ability to trade that next year this is essentially the Los Angeles Lakers waving the white flag and it’s kind of crazy that LeBron was willing to take a pay cut but even with LeBron taking a pay cut the Lakers weren’t able to get him any any additional help and I don’t really know who to point the blame finger at I mean there’s so much that goes into this Los Angeles Lakers aren’t necessarily the franchise that they once were if they were then Dan Hurley would have loved to coach the Los Angeles Lakers but I guess he didn’t want to be LeBron james’ Yes Man and forced to play bronny James in like 15 to 20 minutes per game I guess he didn’t want to ruin his legacy when this ended up ruining his NBA coaching career as well I could understand that I could understand the fears that come with coaching the Lakers considering the fact that they’re also in the most competitive conference in the NBA and this is coming from a Laker fan LeBron James and Anthony Davis were the healthiest that they’ve ever been last year and they still were a playing team I could understand Klay Thompson going to the Mavericks I could understand CP3 choosing the Spurs and taking more money to do so I can understand James Harden taking $35 million a year to stay with the Clippers those are all much better situations than the Lakers I mean at least in James Harden’s case financially it’s a better situation but it’s certainly a tough pill to swallow because you guys have to remember leading up into this off season we thought that the Lakers were going to be able to swing a huge trade for at least one player Rob pinka even hyped it up well at the trade deadline we had one first round draft pick was our only sort of hook to fish with and this summer in June we at the time of the draft we’ll have three first round draft picks to look for deals which I think will really unlock an access to potentially a greater or bigger swing and we didn’t want to shoot uh a small you know bullet now that would only lead to very marginal Improvement at the expense of making a much bigger and more impactful movement um potentially in June and July so going into this off season we thought dejonte Murray was possible we thought Trey young was possible we thought Donovan Mitchell was definitely going to be a little bit more out there in terms of possibility but the Lakers had three future first round picks that they could dangle to swing a trade no such trade was made and to be honest I don’t really think I’m that upset about it primarily because the Lakers seem to be very realistic about the state of the NBA and that’s really the only thing I could ask from them and while I don’t always agree with what Adrien wowski says and even though he has me blocked on Twitter I do agree with some of the Lakers strategy here what’s left are going to be minimum contracts are going to be some moves on the edges but there’s not a dramatic deal for the Lakers to do out in the marketplace they don’t want to use their draft picks to get contracts off they’ll certainly use them if there’s a player that makes sense as part of a bigger deal but right now you know they’re not involved in any deals you know that certainly would land them a third star they’re seeing the landscape of this league and that the three star model with this salary cap doesn’t work or much more difficult for it to work and I think the Lakers you know they value uh the pick they made this year connect and you’ll certainly see him along with bronny James out on the court starting in summer league look at the end of the day do I want more star power in La most definitely it would have been nice to get shooting in the form of Klay Thompson but honestly knowing LeBron james’ history with signing teammates that are supposed to be his Shooters I wouldn’t be shocked if Klay Thompson joins the Lakers and automatically starts shooting 33% from three I also would rather the Lakers not mortgage their future just to add another piece around LeBron James and Anthony Davis just so they could be the next coming of the Phoenix Suns especially if they don’t think that would be a move that would win him a championship it’s definitely not the flashiest path currently and I definitely was hoping that the Lakers could at least get LeBron James to take a pay cut so they could sign another player to help him but at this point they really don’t have a better option at the end of the day if you’re a Laker fan it’s like what path do you want them to take when they traded for a star that LeBron James Wanted 3 years ago they effectively wasted two years of LeBron James’s extended Prime when they stood Pat last year with ruy hachimura and D’Angelo Russell they ended up being a playing team so they made the only Improvement that they really could and that’s bringing a head coach that could potentially maximize ruy haimura D’Angelo Russell and all the additional role players on the Lakers it’s a very bitter pill to swallow the Lakers didn’t win the off season but at the end of the day typically when a team wins the offseason it doesn’t necessarily translate to regular season success I mean last off season people were hyping up the Phoenix Suns with Kevin Durant Bradley Beal and Devin Booker and they were swept in the first round the teams that often have the most success are the teams that identify what they need and make sure that they invest Capital into their weaknesses to ensure that they could make a further push in the NBA playoffs look at the Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks the Boston Celtics realized that they needed somebody to depend upon aside from Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown and they swung a trade for christops porzingis when they lost Marcus SM they realized that they still needed a two-way guard so they swung a trade for Drew holiday they went all in at the right time and they won a championship heit but even the Dallas Mavericks needed front Court defense so they drafted Derek Lively and during the trade deadline they traded for Daniel Gafford when they realized that they needed additional help some scoring aside from Luca donic and Kyrie Irving they signed Klay Thompson and in the case of the Los Angeles Lakers you can’t swing a huge trade for a big three anymore and expect a champion ship which is why not winning the off season at least for now it stings a little bit but maybe we get surprised during the regular season let me know in the comments section down below what do you guys think about all this if you’re a Laker fan are you frustrated that LeBron ended up taking the full Max do you expect us to be a playing Team aside from that I don’t know if you’ve heard about Kyle filipowski girlfriend but she literally caused this man to tank in the NBA draft because of how creeped out teams were about her I’ll leave a link to that in the end screen and I’ll catch you guys there aside from that I’m boy Mike I’m dropping our mic until our next upload

LeBron James finally committed to the Lakers… But at what cost? The Los Angeles Lakers have signed Bronny James to a record breaking deal.

  1. All these “LAKERS” fans mad at Lebron, must didn’t live thru the Kobe era 💀 Yall were trash before Bron got there. Yall act like yall was getting huge Free Agents before 😭

  2. I don't know why this is a story LeBron said he wanted to play with his son and if he were drafted elsewhere that's where LeBron was going to go!
This was nothing more than a payment to LeBron to stay in LA

  3. Poor Dalton! Huge pickup and he just sitting there like… are you gonna talk to me? The money to Bronny is irrelevant I just feel badly for Dalton.

  4. The LA LeBronze, plus a Statue next the Sex Offender!!!! Giving Bronnys Baby Statue a BINKY!!!! Kareem, Magic and West Statue plotting to Kill those 3.

  5. Stop the cap!! The Lakers aren't the preferred player destination anymore. Nobody, I mean NOBODY, wants to play with LeBron and be part of the Lakers script!!

  6. Watch this shit. 6 championships incoming when Bronny hits his stride might take a couple of seasons but here for it.

  7. The Lakers have become that team in the league that no one wants to sign with. The way the Knicks used to be, and the Pistons are now. Ouch!

  8. Cut Bronny, that'll take them under the 2nd apron. The Lakers are history, nothing is expected.

  9. Bronny and Caitlin are both super popular. The NBA will cash in on both of them. There's an opportunity to make ALOT of MONEY. And the owners love making money.

  10. Miiiiiike! Another prophetical analysis of OUR Lakers. OAN, can you please speak to James Harden’s over utilization during the Houston years? I’m not an analyst but I have never seen winning basketball played that way. Just curious to know if my unprofessional observation lines up with truth.

  11. The Lakers will drown this season watch whhat I tell yall. Bron got NBA owner money million dollar deals over Dinner eating Lobster and Shrimp, drinking 1898 aged wine. NBA will never be the same again. Illegal moves being called legitimate this takes away the spirit of competition.
