want to touch on the Atlanta Hawks finalizing the trade for the jante Murray C him to the New Orleans pel and like I said before man I understood after I looked over uh what it meant cap wise because as you know half the NBA is in the hard cap and the hws on that first apron meaning they still have about 20 million in exception to um still make a big move but I don’t think they’ll do it because they were trying to get up under the cap and that was the reason for the Deonte Mur trade and another thing um I think they sawed that experiment with Deonte and trade the same back court was it going to work Deonte was a great two-way player and he’s gonna fit well in New Orleans with C McCullum uh but as it boils down to it the Hawks uh still made the move uh guy acquired more Talent believe it or not they have a younger and they did get young with Dyson Daniels 67 uh Wing player that uh is a great defensive player uh still has the evolve um with his scoring uh but if you look at the entire trade as I’m going to pull up on the screen right here um they go out and get um Dyson Daniels EJ Lidell uh who was a third year forward um out of Ohio State and he really played most G League his first year finally got to play in the NBA last year but still only play Eight Games really didn’t make a splash uh larz Jr who’s been around for about 10 seasons um averaged Five Points five rebounds last year uh in 1.9 assist for uh the Pelicans and 57% shooting field goal uh wise uh they also acquired veteran Cody Zeller who was the final piece uh he had to get his contract uh guaranteed for $3 million so the trit could go through if not uh the Pelicans would have had to pay six million for the jonte Murray and the hwks and future first round picks in 2025 and 20127 in exchange for the J M so that is the trade and I like I said man I was iffy about it but at the same time um I know it makes sense and with Larry n he’s a veteran he’s uh also a key piece and the one thing that I’m thinking deal uh one of these first round picks uh maybe with uh EJ leale lar they could probably make another move maybe Cody Zella who knows uh but one thing I do know they’re probably Gonna Keep Dyson Daniels and the reason why I say they may trade Cody Ziller and Larry n steel because as I look at the Haw roster right now they had exactly five centers uh on the roster so um if you look at it they have five centers on the roster you have Clint capella oena okongwu uh Larry who can play the center as well um Cody Zeller uh and mo guy who really a cner in my opinion um but you don’t see either EJ Liddell on here but trust me he’s a power forward 67 240 so he’s a big body uh he’s a short as small forward but he’s he has the physical size uh to play up against um NBA power Wars at 67 because if y’all remember back in the day I remember dude named Michael cage um played for the he was only like 6768 and he played cter so uh jayen Johnson who they project to be the power for Zachary risset uh he’s gonna be the small for DeAndre Hunter is gonna be the backup uh banovic is gonna be uh the shooting guard and Dyson Daniels would be the back up to both guard positions um but as I look at this roster man I still feel like uh it’s a little bit incomplete uh mainly because I really still don’t see that Rim protect on this team U you look at Clint capella um I think that um they won’t part ways with him and that’s the reason why the BR eag trade didn’t go through uh but I’m gonna speak on that in just a second but if you look at CLI capella or yoongo I think OK will probably get that start spot uh because U and I think they may flipflop because K may play against the bigger centers on Yer could play against the smaller guys in the small ball lineup uh so as I said when I look at this roster man I’m still uh thinking that they missing that rim protector because uh I just think Trey young in this offense needs somebody that can block shots consistently rebound dominantly uh to help their transition game and if they can get go out and get that guy I think they take this team to the next level with a whole bunch of catch and shoot guys um like butovich R shade if jayen JNS can develop his jump shot uh DeAndre hun if he can learn to create his own shot and you know put up more points um I think this team could be very very competitive but as I look at it right now with the way this team is constructed I’m still looking at the playin team I’m looking at the seven to8 seed I just don’t don’t see nothing that will put them over the top to put them in the top five discussion in the East so um this trade to me uh I would have to give it a I would say A B minus mainly because they got cap room and they got a young lot of young talent in return and two first round picks so um that’s the way I feel about that trade man and uh I just hope and pray that um they can actually put a better team on the floor uh but I think this season may be a season where they still you know building a better foundation for this team so um we’ll see what happens with that man so as I was saying about the bringing eam trade uh rumors it says the hwks were uninterested in trading their centers uh Clint capella and yo con to New Orleans Pelicans for Brandon Ingram per will gullery uh and it says per League sources as it turned out and now didn’t have much interest in giving Ingram his next contract uh which was in my uh reading was $28 million for four years which is roughly $52 million a year which is a lot of money for a guy that’s been injured now don’t get me wrong he’s talented he very talented 69ine uh two guard SL small forward so he’s a combo guy that can create his own shot and he can put up 30 40 points in any given game he would bring much need to scor to the Hawks uh but at the same time if he can’t stay on the court and he’s not healthy uh what good is that’s going to do because the best ability in sports is availability and that’s something that he’s struggled with the last couple of years totally not his fault but injuries happen and hey we all know that uh can’t get it right all the time but uh it says Ingram his next contract moving either of his top two centers uh like I said according to leag sources and um the crazy thing about it man like I said before man if the heart take Alex s we would not be having this conversation I think if you take Alex s you set a better Foundation of exactly where you want to go with this team um and it’s no not Tois shap because it’s not his fault it’s just that the way the Hawks building this team you got to build a focal point which isus Treon you got to build around him and what I tell yall all the time Point guard’s best friend is a c so if you get him Center that he need that this team need and even though they have five on the roster right now I still take that young 19 year old uh try to have him uh as the focal point in the front Court build around him Jaylen Johnson um you get a Brandon Ingram um I think you uh could and you could have moved um a Congo and capella have Alexa go out and get uh maybe a b oh sorry um James wisman who went to the pacel you could go out and get uh Ste k a walker Kesler who’s um Utah is looking to trade and build this team the right way uh that gives you more options in the front court that gives you uh flexibility cap room wise um and if you make this deal that mean click Capella’s numbers off the book or k uh you could probably throw DeAndre H in to make the uh sign and trade happen uh and still probably get Dyson Daniels and uh Brandon Ingram in this trade so I think they fum the ball a little bit as far as uh this move but you know you have to trust what the front office is doing which I don’t trust the front office I’m G just keep that real with y’all uh but from my vantage point um I think they’re building this team kind of backwards uh because like I say you started top with the center you have your star point guard you have your young star and jayen Johnson of the future and maybe you know maybe they’re looking at his contract coming up who knows because Jaylen Johnson will get paid uh next year if he proves this year that he belongs on the Hawks they will have to come up off that checkbook and uh pay him a pretty penny uh so the Brandon eum trade fell through because the Haw did not want to trade any one of their cers and they think of yoa who they just paid as well uh they think he can be a driving force the future of this team because he plays the four and the five so versatility he’s kind of coming along trying to develop a jump shot a mid-range shot so we’ll see what happens man but I was kind of disappointed because I feel like if Alex SAR and you bring in an Ingram um you already have uh what you had um dejon Murray but uh I think um this could have went a little in a little better Direction but like I said you just have try to process with these owners and uh we’ll see how it turns out but
