BREAKING: Massive Report REVEALS Gary Trent Jr. Leaving the Raptors…

we have a wild free agency update as a massive report has just dropped revealing the future of Gary Trent Jr and how won’t be with the Toronto Raptors as this asking price from MSU Jeri was astronomical and the Raptors turned their heads at it and this is serious implications on other trades the Toronto Raptors are setting up for the off season and it opens up the Log Jam that the Raptors have had at that shooting guard position again there’s still a lot of guards on this team but this is serious implications on the roster Construction C of this team moving forward so we’re going to break down all of that including the ludicrous asking price Gary Trent Jr has had from the Toronto Raptors in this video but before we do folks again we’re about 20 subscribers away from 35,000 huge milestone for the channel so you’re part of the 49% that hasn’t hit the Subscribe button just yet you’ve watching the videos lately staying up to date on all the Toronto Raptors news make sure you guys hit that subscribe button so you don’t miss a single video and we can hit that goal hopefully today you know in terms of the history of raptor dig so appreciate you guys as always but let’s dive into the report because we have a massive update regarding Toronto Raptors Wing three-point shooting Guy Star boy Gary Trent Jr once coin the future growth by rker on this podcast won’t be back with the Toronto Raptors this season signs start to point in that direction when the Toronto Raptors filled up their roster spots with uh guys not allowing for them to bring in another player you know filling up their cap space all that type of stuff but a big report did drop today from Josh lomberg saying that the Raptors were willing to bring back Sharpshooter Gary Trent Jr at an annual salary of around $15 million when the negotiation window opened last month but Trent’s Camp was looking for a raise on the $18.5 million that he made last season and wanted something along the lines of $25 million was believed to be the ask annually so not just you know a single one-time payment of $25 million or you know a multi-year $25 million deal which I feel like a lot of raptor fans wouldn’t be shocked if that’s the deal that he gets out there in the open market $25 million per year was the ask from Gary Trent Jr the Raptors weren’t going to do that that wasn’t a reasonable contract for what the Toronto Raptors did had on the table with Gary Tren in terms of his stats everything that he was providing this season I mean 14 points per game 2.6 rebounds 1.7 assist you might look at and say oh he’s a 39% three-point shooter shoots 38% from threes he’s still pretty young you know 25 years old as well but he regressed last season did not not not even take the leap not take the jump he regress specifically just as a bucket getter in terms of fit with this Toronto Raptors group we have gluttony at this point this shooting guard position so basically it didn’t make sense whatsoever the drona Raptors give him a raise on the contract that he had previously and much less around the $25 million mark Cuz frankly we can look at it comparison to other guys around the league I mean a guy in uh in Grayson Allen who puts up similar stats you know better sort of assist facilitator better rebounder better Defender consistently night in night out but shoots 46% from behind the three-point line he a better all-around three-point shooter and shooter from the field and shoots 47% on corner 3es just a couple years older and is on an upward trajectory even though he’s despite the fact he’s a little bit older this man in terms of uh contracts just received a contract last off season in terms of the money he received was about $15 million annually and then it it’s going up right so 15 16 18 and then a player option for $19 million so again that’s the bread that’s the money that grayon Allen is receiving out there in terms of his contract with the Phoenix Suns that’s the deal he got in this current NBA market in terms of everything that’s going on and Gary Trent Jr was looking for $25 million I mean shoot for the stars my guy my star boy Gary Trent Jr I respect it I respect you trying to get your Brad I’m a fan of your game all that type of stuff and the potential the flashers that he shown but you got to come in a bit realistic maybe that’s the starting asking price you know you anchor High read some negotiation books you anchor high and then you move down and you do whatever you know maybe the Raptors would have accepted $18 million you know if you negotiate right but if you’re floor if what you’re looking for is $25 million that’s just not going to happen now with the current cap situation with everything that’s going I might be shocked if Gary Trent Jr ends up getting even that 15 million dollar per per year annually on his contract we’ll see the Bucks are certainly a team that’s interested there are teams across the league that struck out in free agency with different players that could be intrigued by Gary Trent Jr but it won’t be with the Toronto Raptors he doesn’t want to come back for under that type of bread so sucks to say but Gary Trent Jr is gone from this team but what does that mean for this current Core Group because now after all the signings are official everything that’s gone out we have a better idea in terms of what the Raptor’s roster construction is going to look like because again Manuel quickly Scotty Barnes long-term locked into some big big contracts we broke that down in yesterday’s video RJ Barrett as well for the next three seasons this is up to date now here now at this point in terms of where the contracts are at for the Tron Raptors there’s no more hypothetical window these deals have been signed in uh ink has been on put on paper but basically at the guard spots right now we still have a log Jam with Gary Tren Jr coming in it would have been a serious problem I pictured especially a $15 million the Raptors being able to bring Gary Trent Jr back especially with how the Market’s been going for a Gary Tren Jr who knows maybe the negotiations he’ll just go out there interview with a ton of teams not get offer any bread and then things do a 180 and he won’t be back with the rapt just CU again nothing’s ever official till it’s official in the NBA but basically Emanuel quickley RJ Barrett are locked in long term for sure Scotty Barnes locked in long term and then we have at the guard position down there Grady dick oi abaji as well as jacobe Walter all guys that are going to be getting minutes in this Toronto Raptors team expect to be solid prospects at that shooting guard position long term for this squad and then we also have JFL as M as Jamal shed uh Jamal shed goodness gra shed Alexi sched but JFL uh Jamal shed that are going to be out there I think shed especially is going to be brought in given the contract he received as a guy that’s expect to get minutes at some point during his Raptor tener over the next couple seasons and then we also have the guard position have Davon Mitchell who is a player that I think the Raptors are genuinely intrigued in his defensive ability there’s been articles come out about him about the Raptors trying to utilize him as a piece but that’s a lot of guys that are all out there trying to get minutes at that guard position and then we have Bruce Brown you know the third highest player on the uh paid player on the team for this upcoming season he is a dude that’s going to be making you know $23 million he’s a valuable piece Bruce Brown is good at basketball but he’s also going to be comanding minutes at that sort of guard position now now we have seen Bruce Brown play you know at the power forward spot over the course of his career so it’s not something that is definitely a guarantee that uh he’s going to be eating up minutes you know at that guard spot I imagine that’s what the Raptor plans are for them because again we don’t know what’s happening it has been absolutely silence on Chris bu’s future with this team here now at this point he’s getting paid $10 million with Kelly lck and yakob purle who will be in the rotation certainly for this team you know the at the start of the season but uh we have Sasha zenov who a jury said there will be answers for you know in terms of his future with the team uh moving forward at the basically the next few days so we’ll see what happens there but basically our front line combin consists of Perle and Kelly o Len who are getting minutes venkov bu wild cards Jonathan mogbo who is a second round pick we’re not sure what’s going to happen with him here now at this point and then we also have the two-way guys and DJ card and er Chom who I don’t think we’ll get a lot of run this season but basically that’s four guys that realistically could get some minutes of the forward spots obviously uh as I mentioned Bruce Brown and Scotty Barnes can slide up to the four times as well and then mogbo who’s kind of a wild card will he be in the G League more often will he be a player we’ll see how that all shakes out abaji did play some forward at the end of last season but I want to see abaji actually play more of his natural two guard position with the Toronto Raptors group but Gary Tren Jr not coming back does have it sucks to see an asset like that lose you know a solo three-point shooter a guy that is valuable walk for nothing and a guy that you know I’m rooting for I liked him as a basketball player you always never said anything crazy to the media despite his role going up and down his consistency was up and down too but uh it just sucks to see because when we brought him in he had so much potential traded Norman Powell who is a fan favorite of M fan favorite Raptor fans a favorite of mine you know on this Raptor team sucks that uh Gary Trent Jr didn’t end up panning out but let me know what you guys think about Gary Trent Jr moving on from the Toronto Raptors that asking price he was looking for let me know in the comments section down below you guys the best thing hard subscribe to the channel if you guys haven’t already I’m signing up cheers

  1. If he was asking $25 million he wasn't serious about re-signing here. That's a ridiculous amount for a one dimensional role player

  2. He may have not been perfect but I will miss gary and appreciate how he embraced toronto

  3. This front office never disappoints in how short sighted their moves are. Why not trade Bruce Brown and then pay GTJ. The Raptors are going nowhere with this Front Office who let Siakam go for very little.

  4. Gary is going to be lucky to get 10+ mill/year at this point. His agent completely failed him but hes not the only agent that's done that.
Caleb Martin and his agent turned down a 5 year/65 mill extension from Miami. He ended up signing for 4 years/32 mill. Lol
    I'd be firing my agent.

  5. They got a great deal in the OG trade, but got finessed by the Pacers in the Siakam deal (unless ja’kobe Walter becomes a star). Ja’kobe Walter is probably going to be a boom or bust.

  6. The implication of drafting best player available is that it can lead to overlap, so when the picked Walter, GTJ was gone

  7. GTJ didn't want to play
    for the RAPS anymore
IT was time for him to move on to play with a
    contender team. At just
25 yrs old plenty of basketball ahead of him LOVE you GÀRY ❤

  8. doubt anyone paid him anything near $20m+/season. which means… he took a pay cut from those wild $25m/season estimates to be on a contender. let's see what he is signs for… maybe a 2 year deal for $32m would be my guess.

  9. I knew it! This man fail to grow he failed to improve and some times I watched this man trying to dunk in game and fails miserably. Yes he can shoot but only sometimes he is consistent so I can definitely see why. And besides he doesn’t pass the ball.

  10. i like GTJ but…i didnt get to see him taking that grit to take his game or raptors to the next level…its just like always on auto pilot…maybe time to move on….give Jakobi walter a shot

  11. Saying it again Norm was a better value….positive & good personality but let's be honest was never that dude, him and injured Rodney Hood was not worth it, another of Masai reaches.

  12. Yeah gtj had his opportunity toprove his worth end of season when he was starting. And while everyone was injured or getting busted gambling or prayers and strength to barrett fam for their loss he should have led the team.

Instead he bet on himself and just started chucking and launching 3s rather than prove he could fit in darkos system. I want BB traded but he has so much more to offer than gtj and who would you rather have mentoring the youth? A 1 dimensional 3pt specialist or a nba champ who played with murray and jokic? Yeah id rather spend on that and bank on Gradey replacing gtj mentored by BB and Temple

Tysm gtj and hope you get picked up elsewhere in the league.

As for boucher. Again its tough to move him at iis age and salary. Most likely end up like Ryker: filler in some trade to another team.

  13. When he’s hot…he’s hot, but when he’s not …he’s not. And it was a lot more the latter for GTJ. Bye-bye. 👋

  14. Trent Jr is inconsistent and underwhelming so Im surprised they were even considering negotiating with him when they have gone in the direction they are in. Good luck elsewhere Jr.

  15. Thank you for letting him go. My ex loved him. Lmao.

He’s a good shooter but if he’s not a starter he doesn’t like the bench role. Teams forced him to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim and he struggled.

He’s a 20 scorer on a bad team. But I told you to trade him last year.

I’m still upset at the raptors Bruce brown trade and not getting a draft pick to get a 3 and D centre.

Portal Chris and Brown has to go

I like Chris a lot but coach won’t play him and if Sasha stays his spot is gone.

And we need a 3 and centre and another OG type 3 and d 6’9 guy.

Then we’ll make playoffs but we won’t be a chip team unless we get an all star centre alla Ad Embid jokic Porzingis

  16. We should have let IQ hit the market no team was going to over the pay the way the Raptors did. Massai love to 0ver pay our guys, IQ is not even all-star.

  17. Lewie the Jewie, all 3'9 of him….his character is even smaller.
Umm, Buddy got 9 per, and GTJ turned down 15??? …and GSW picked Buddy over GTJ

  18. Caleb Martin got $7 mill a year… Gary’s getting $5 mill on most teams so if wants anymore than that he’s staying with the Raptors

  19. I like GTJ but he’s not worth the asking price. He can shoot 3’s and that’s about it. Not a good mid range game. Doesn’t have a floater. Not the best defender. Best of luck to him.
