The Minnesota Timberwolves WON the 2024 NBA Draft…

the Minnesota Timberwolves just went out and fixed every single issue with their roster in one offseason and no it was not by signing Joe Engles it was going out and getting two absolute slashers with Rob Dillingham and Teran Shannon Jr both in the draft they fixed their biggest most pressing issue which was without Anthony Edwards on the court their offense goes straight downhill Anthony Edwards if you didn’t know is a walking paint touch he gets to the paint whenever he wants and he gets to the rim whenever he wants as you can see here without Ann on the court they are much much worse at getting downhill and getting to the rim well they got two Elite slashers two of the best slashers in the draft and they gave they got Rob Dillingham basically for a bag of chips in seven years the NBA can change a lot as seen here this was the timber wolf seven years ago but I think Rob is still going to be a Minnesota timber wolf in seven years this team still should be good with their core of Aunt cat Jaden McDaniels um the other guys that they have here n Alexander Walker may be here but I think Rob will still be here he averaged 15 points four boards three assists on 48% shooting from the field 44% from three in just 23 minutes a game not to mention when you have an opportunity to win a championship in the NBA you have to maximize it you have to make the most of it um Rob is a great passer averaged 6.6 assists per 40 minutes last year at the University of Kentucky and again he only played 23 minutes which is crazy to be able to put up the numbers that he did uh really really good shooter um at 44% from three as a freshman that is is wild and one of the most sure bets in the NBA draft over the last few years has become a Kentucky guard uh now he does have a funky shot he’s got a little bit of a hitch in it it looks like but hey that thing goes in and if it ain’t broke don’t fix it I do worry about that translating but it didn’t have any issue translating to college he’s Elite off the dribble I think he will be just fine at the next level and I think he’s going to be the perfect microwave score to come off the bench for this Minnesota Timberwolves team um to help take some of the pressure off of and the other guys on this roster he’s great off the ball as well um he can cut he can find the open space to knock down the three ball but I think his best attribute is his slashing ability well like I said like Anthony Edwards he is a walking paint touch he has a lightning quick First Step you have to respect the three ball as well so you have to play up a bit and he can just go right by you um he’s great either way with his left or his right hand he’s got great touch I mean just check out this finish right here through two guys little jelly fam off the top right corner of the backboard that is crazy but I think I like Terence Shannon Jr even more than Rob Billingham especially at 28 versus or 27 versus eight um 23 points a game four rebounds 2.3 assists per game one steal and one block for Teran shoting teren Shannon Jr last year one of the best players in all of America 48% from the field 37% from three on 6.7 attempts but his three-point shooting is very very impressive um some of these shots that he’s taken you know one dribble step back with a hand in your face that’s a high difficulty shot high level of difficulty and he’s knocking him down on the regular does have catch and shoot potential very good catch and shoot upside going forward as you can see the jumper is a little bit lamelo ball esque with it very nonchalant whenever he puts it up um shoots it kind of from his hip but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it once again I think he’s the best athlete in the draft just watch this clip right here the makeup speed right here would have been a great defensive back uh instead he’s a 6′ s super athlete look how far behind he is this Iowa player I was watching this in real time and my jaw dropped he went and got that off the rim and then took it the other way he is a pure score as pure of a score as they come he just makes it look really really easy I mean lightning quick shot fake and he’s finishing with his head at The Rim his eyes are on the rim uh 58% from two-point range as well he can finish really in any way you want him to and then once you finally think you’ve got him figured out he’ll pull up for a jumper over the top of you here he is Little Euro Step the left hand off glass it’s tough very Unstoppable when coming downhill little inside jab Euro variation where he gets back to that right hand and then here he’s just going to pull up over the top of KSA tominaga uh and knock down the midi now he has defensive upside as well which is one thing that Rob doesn’t have uh but this Timberwolf team loves they have a defensive identity and here he is in trail coverage just coming back the jump shot wasn’t quick enough on the release um he’s got incredible measurables as well with that athleticism at 6’7 um and just just defensive upside all across the board like I said I think he’s the most athletic player in this draft class and he’s going to be a transition nightmare for anybody trying to stop him I mean look at him turn defense into offense here getting downhill in a millisecond and finishes with the left then he gets the turnover like we said and goes up top for Showtime goodness gracious this kid is going to be Electric in the NBA taking a look at the new lineups the starting lineup is completely the same I expect Mike Conley to continue to start this year after this year we can talk about Rob Dillingham but I think Conley still has the starting honors but at least now you have two really good point guards in this lineup and don’t have to play Nel Alexander Walker at point guard from time to time um the bench is very improved that’s what I like a lot about this team what they’ve done this offseason but we will continue to talk about that in one that I think can break out for this Timber woles team and that is going to be Leonard Miller I was a big fan of him last year when they drafted him and this year in the G League he was dominant he averaged 20.3 points per game 9.1 rebounds 3.6 assists per game in 30 minutes a night and he even got some burn in the NBA this year in some blowouts um he shot 48% from the field and 38% from three on 5.6 attempts which is very promising for the g-league guy because he can come up he can play off the ball at 38% you know catch and shoot Jaden McDaniels 2.0 he’s got the length he’s got the athleticism to play that defensive um role that Jade McDaniel has and honestly when you look at him he moves like Jaden McDaniels he looks like a Jaden McDaniels clone uh maybe not as good on the ball defensively but he looks very very exciting for this timber wolves team now should they run it back I think they should an it’s been hooping it up with Team USA he’s going to be even better next year even better than he was this year and he really had a breakout year where he put up 26 points per game 5.4 rebounds 5.1 assist 1.3 Steals and the timber wolves really broke through getting to the Western Conference Finals uh it’s going to be a gauntlet in the west next year but I think they have a squad that can do it 46% from the field 36% from three on 6.7 attempts per game um I think they have the fire power now to compete with the Mavs for the next couple of years and whoever else maybe the Thunder um are a team on the rise there’s some really good teams in the west so it’s going to be tough to win it um the Nuggets of course will be back but I like this Timber B Squad especially if we get a bounce back from Carl Anthony Towns now cat in the playoffs was bad but in the regular season he was really really good I mean he was an All-Star for a reason 22 points a game 8.3 rebounds three assists in 33 minutes a night um and he was out there he’s probably the best big man shooter in the league self- pronounced for sure but I mean he shoots 42% from three on 5.3 attempts as a seven-footer 50% from the field now in the playoffs it was a completely different story 45% from the field 35% from three on 19 points a game with six rebounds not very good um but I think you know we can see a bounce back here just because he didn’t shoot it well he can make some adjustments this off season and when he’s not shooting well he’s got to get downhill and that’s something I think he knows now um now the defense will still be elite of course anchored by Rudy go they got that big three defensively of Rudy Jaden McDaniels and Anthony Edwards you got to kill Alexander Walker Off the Bench um like I said I hope we see Terence Shannon developed defensively and um Leonard Miller but this still is a really really good squad I mean they got the Sixth Man of the Year they got two starts with ant and Cat jayen McDaniels is an elite Defender and he showed in the playoffs he can be an offensive Force um I’m really excited for this team they still have Mike Conley a very very good veteran point guard you can argue if he doesn’t get hurt for some of those games in that math series you know they they could be much better but realistically they gave away two of those games um and they lost in five they they should have been up 3-2 going into game six but they gave two of those
