Anyone surprised?

You would have to give me multiple 1st round picks for me to take Ingram and pay him $50 mill a year if I’m a GM

Ingram’s career arc is so interesting. He went from looking like a bust as a rookie, to becoming an All Star and one of the best young players in the league, to now no one wants to max him.

  3. john61020

If the Pelicans give him this contract, he’ll be the next Zach LaVine.

  4. Lol69HaHaHa

    200M, for BI.

I dunno about that one man. The Pels should really try and lower that, cause rn every $ counts.

  5. Its_Hoggish_Greedly

I would also like a $200m contract. Just in case anyone has any extras laying around that they can send my way.

  6. They goin to unload him for absolute pennies. They can’t let him just walk, given he was part of the AD trade really don’t see how they can just let him walk.

  7. BI easily gets the max a couple years ago. New CBA is going to make it a lot harder on the very good but not quite star players to get max bags moving forward.

  8. Quickley got $175m and people are acting like Ingram getting $200m is crazy.

Wondering how many years he’s looking for that 200 mil. A max extension from Pels would be 5/245 mil. If it’s a 5/200 mil extension, that honestly wouldn’t be terrible with the cap set to increase 10% annually the next few years.

  10. with the new CBA teams just cannot afford to give a max to non-superstars unless it’s a rookie extension. Lavine’s max is a product of the old CBA and now he has negative value. he’ll be one of the last of his kind for the time being I think, otherwise Ingram on a max immediately joins Zach as one of the worst contracts in the league

He should just play this season out, if he puts up close to his 24.7pts on 39% from 3 shooting the previous year his value will go up.

  12. Nah there’s interest. You see all these scrubs getting 180-200 mil. He’ll definitely get that and more.

  13. pendletonskyforce

I’m so glad the Kings got Derozan instead.

  14. always injured, even when healthy just isn’t transcendent enough to lead a contender. leaves little to no suitors at that asking price, who’s paying 200m for a 2nd/3rd option that’s unreliable.

  15. loplopplop

That would be like a million dollars per game this dude plays. He’s good but injured all the time.

  16. eh_too_lazy

With a second apron being so punishing, I really don’t see very many teams wanting to be competitive and pay BI 50 Ms a year. If he was more consistent and healthy yes but with the current product no

  17. willit1016

I get why, he see some these catz getting paid and he is like I’m better than them. Some team will give him close to that because have you seen these contracts?

  18. Gamechannel360

He’s a 35 million per year player at max.

  19. BugO_OEyes

Didn’t a bench player in Toronto just get that?

  20. Moheezy__3

So what is Ingram worth in today’s market? OG type numbers? Or below?

  21. krypto9er

The way contracts and salary caps have changed has made the offseason kinda interesting, you got quality guys who aren’t able to get the max contract/extension they want. I wonder what it’ll be like come expansion.

  22. He’s kind of a streaky player. When he’s getting to his spots he looks like kd lite but if his shot is not falling he sulks and brings the whole team down. Unclear if he can be the best player on a playoff team.

  23. he feels committed to that number because he turned down extension last year. Problem is nobody in their right mind is giving him anywhere near that.

  24. No-Contest4033

He’s dreaming. He got exposed in the playoffs. He’s a complimentary player not the MC.

  25. dvasquez93

Honestly, fuck it Warriors should do it.  We need a genuine bucket getter as a #2, and by the time that contract turns hideous we’re gonna be dogshit anyways.  It’s not like we’re prime for a quick rebuild anyhow, unless Kuminga and Podz make some huge leaps.

  26. Aware_Economics4980

I too am going to continue looking for $200 million contracts

  27. Plankton_Super

Yah teams are looking at Lavine / Beal and not wanting to be stuck with those untradable contracts. Sorry Ingram you ain’t that dude

  28. TheSmokedSalmon420

The NBA really solved the super team issue huh

  29. UnnamedStaplesDrone

CJ McCollum and the 2nd apron send their regards.

  30. Deadly_Davo

Isn’t even the best player on his team. He is 34th in league in points per game, not even top 50 in rebounds per game and 24th in assists per game. Add to that he has only played around 65% of games in the last 5 years. There is nothing that says he is worth $52 mill a year. For a player who plays roughly 55 of 82 games a year and doesn’t excel in anything on the court, his market value would be half that and that is being generous. Players who deserve $52 mill a year are those who play 70+ games and drop numbers close to 25-7-7. Not players who played 55 games and drop 20-5-5. Pelicans should offer him 4 years 100 million and dump him if he doesn’t take it.

If I was running the Portland Trail Blazers, I’d go get a trail blazer. Jerami Grant for Brandon Ingram seems like a fair swap.
