Report REVEALS Knicks PURSUING Karl-Anthony Towns…

the New York Knicks are rumored to be pursuing Carl Anthony towns and we have to talk about it so what’s up guys welcome back to Nick’s digest it’s Chris here and we’re going to jump right into the video as we always do because the best New York Knicks content creator out there myself just kidding CP the franchise went out there and essentially said that according to his insiders the New York Knicks like the idea of adding Carl Anthony towns to this team and this was on a video a recent episode of Nicks fan TV with Ariel helwani as the guest now when they were talking about this I was kind of confused on why this Carl Anthony towns discourse is back there’s been a lot of rumors that the New York Knicks never really were that interested in towns in the first place but I’m not going to call CP a liar from everyone that I know the man is tapped in that is the number one thing we all know the man is not going to make stuff up it’s why he is the most loved content creator creator of all Nick’s content creators he’s not going to lie about this meaning there is truth to this he does have connections to the New York Knicks organization and according to him the New York Knicks are interested in landing Towns now as he said the Knicks want towns they want to see they want to do kind of what Boston was doing with a true five out system and at the same time he mentions that Julius Randle did not get that extension and he said that he wasn’t necessar necessarily advocating for it he’s more just saying the interest in Carl Anthony towns is very real now this comes a after Fred Katz said this the Knicks have never engaged in serious trade negotiations involving Carl Anthony towns despite long having an eye on him now look CP is not going to make this up meaning there’s truth is the Knicks are interested in Carl Anthony towns they have been building a team that is made to stop the Boston Celtics Jaylen Brunson and Josh Hart talked about the on the roommates podcast that essentially That’s What teams do now they they build to make teams that beats the current best team the way that Minnesota was built catered to beating the Denver Nuggets what did Minnesota do they beat the Denver Nuggets the New York Knicks are building a team that is catered to beat the Boston Celtics now first things first I don’t think you need to acquire Carl Anthony towns to beat the Boston Celtics I think that actually harms your chances cuz here’s the deal in order to do that you’re probably going to have to trade both Mitch and Julius Randall meaning you’re going to run a small ball lineup of Jaylen Bronson with Dante D venzo with the two Mel at the three and OG at the four with towns at the five Tom Tibido likes the way that OG guards big men that makes sense but he’s not gonna be guarding porzingis in that series he’s guarding Jason Tatum regardless of what position they’re playing so it does make for an interesting discourse on Ken Carl Anthony towns guard porzingis or for anyone at all cuz he looked decent defensively guarding Aaron Gordon the what the fourth option on the Denver Nuggets when they were in that second round series that did go to seven games but I don’t think he can guard christops porzingis at all and guess what I think porzingis can guard Carl Anthony towns so first things first I don’t think they need to do that and as CP said he was not advocating for this he actually said in the video that he de that he really does like Julius Randall and he likes randle’s fit with the Knicks cuz helwani kind of pushed back and asked like oh would you want that to happen and he’s like not really i’ rather Julius he did mention that Carl Anthony towns is seemingly a better fit in the offense which I mean I think it’s debatable there’s definitely a very good argument that he’s correct I just think Julius Randle is a far better player than towns something that CP kind of indicated that he believes as well and it makes think I I just don’t think this is going to happen at all I think this I I don’t know I don’t think this is going to happen essentially I just don’t see a world where this happens why would the Knicks after having seemingly no interest in actually making a trade for Carl Anthony towns despite keeping an eye on him or having no real trade talks about towns despite keeping an eye on him are now going to go out and trade two of their starters for towns why it doesn’t help with cap space it does not Randall plus Mitch does not equal Carl Anthony towns Julius Randall is better than Carl Anthony Towns at basketball I understand towns is a 40% shooter from three and that’s exciting and I get it and it’s cool I could see why towns would fit with the Knicks I don’t think this is the answer to the New York Knicks becoming better than the Celtics I think this makes them worse because look then you’re putting Towns at Center the best thing the Knicks have going for them when beating the Boston Celtics is that no one on the Boston Celtics can guard Julius Randall now that would be the case if towns are running the four and the Knicks had a different Center at the five then that makes total sense because no one of them is going to be able to guard towns except for the fact that in the last few years with the existence of Rudy goar on the Minnesota Timberwolves towns hasn’t driven to the paint as often he hasn’t worked in the post as much and he if he’s at the five with the Knicks he might for a degree but porzingis is gonna shut that down because he’s a phenomenal Defender and if he’s at the four then the Knicks are gonna need a stretch big at the five which also doesn’t make sense or they’re going to need to constantly work switches for towns to go up against the smaller guy like Jaylen Brown or Jason Tatum in that process I just don’t see how it makes them better and I do want to mention I’m not saying like CP is wrong because again for the most part he was very much Pro like keep Julius um from what I saw and so I do think that he’s more just giving us the rundown that this is something the Knicks are interested in but why why are the Knicks interested in it like I want to make sure that my anger is directed not at someone who doesn’t know who I am because he’s far better at this than me and that is directed at someone else who doesn’t know who I am because he’s far better than this me at Leon Rose if this is the truth why why would you go for Carl Anthony towns why would you ruin such a good thing the Nicks I get you have to extend Julius and I get one day you’ll have to extend Mitch in 2026 Carl Anthony towns doesn’t solve either of those problems it doesn’t change much now I thought that was up but here’s Carl Anthony Town’s stats he puts up 22 points per game with eight rebounds and three assists now it’s important to know if Rudy go were not on the team towns would be in the double digits for rebounds he doesn’t get a steal or a block per game he’s under 1.5 stocks per game because he’s a terrible Defender he fouls too much he way too much in the playoffs the Saving Grace is that he’s one of the best shooting big men in NBA history he shoots 41% from corner threes which would absolutely help the Knicks in a way that Julius Randle does not most of his threes actually all of his threes are catch and shoot literally 3% of them arm but he’s a big guy that’s fine no surprise there and he still mainly is working within the arc but that 34% from three I think is growing now I don’t know if it would grow if he were on the Knicks but it is something to take note in and when thinking about the Tom tipido thing Carl Anthony towns just talked about it and basically said two grown men got together and had a conversation so in case you’re wondering which is my kind of go-to if wait does tibs even want to be near Carl Anthony towns they don’t like each other that’s not true that beef was squashed something I had no idea about till very recently it came out a year ago the towns is like no no no it’s fine now we’re good we talked it out but at the end of the day I don’t know if towns has the toughness to join this Knicks team maybe he does and haven’t seen it on Minnesota I guess we’re yet to find out but here’s the real reason why I don’t want Carl Anthony towns on the Knicks look at those Playoff stats they go down I understand Julius Randall has not performed the two years he’s been in the playoffs and actually played but the one where Ma were he mainly played in the playoffs where in 2023 when it wasn’t a five game exit in a disastrous series against the Atlanta Hawks towns fouled too much his points per game went down his shooting went below 40% to 36 last year three of his four playoff appearances he has fouled over 3. five times per game meaning he’s routinely getting into foul trouble I don’t see why the New York Knicks should make this move now shout out to CP and all of Nicks fan TV for literally just being the best version of all Nick’s content creation on YouTube I’m not blind to this so I do want to give them their rightful props I think we all kind of take our cues from them in a degree so shout out to Nick
