NBA Today | Woj breaks down market for Brandon Ingram, Lauri Markkanen trade talks have cooled off

not there yet deante Murray was acquired early in the process too how much do you think that either simplifies or maybe complicates bi’s situation in New Orleans I think that they’re going to move bi eventually it’s not a matter of if it’s a matter of when they already have Trey Murphy thei who I think that they’re going to implement into that starting rotation right away also he’s a long-term fix if you want to keep Zion he’s more of a two-way player he is a better asset to what Zion brings to the game what he brings to the Pelicans and again you want to hope that you can Tain Zion although every season I feel like we have rumors that he’s unhappy in New Orleans the New Orleans Pelicans are unhappy with him it’s a Perpetual Circle but I it’s going to be interesting right because Brandon Ingram is in a weird position in his at this stage in his career he’s not a bad player but the market for him is a lot smaller than it was years and years ago I do think the Trailblazers would be a team to watch they’re not necessarily a contender they’re not really in a position to contend for the playoffs right now but they have a lot of Talent on that roster that just kind needs to figure out a way to work together and unlike Lorie marinin who I know we’re going to talk about a little bit um who doesn’t need the ball in his hand constantly to be part of the offense Brandon Ingram’s a drastic difference from that he likes to have the ball in his hand and I think that a team like the Trailblazers can give him that opportunity so I think that that’s a team to look out for but again when it comes to the Pelicans I think that this relationship is just waiting until they can find out you know what other people are out there on the market because I just think it’s the divorce is coming it’s just you know they’re sticking with each other for the kids a little bit longer to make the transition a little bit easier but it’s happening the papers are already been filed yeah I totally agree with Ashley on this and and right now BR Brandon Ingram if you have to pay him Max money um that that’s going to really hurt your your flexibility moving forward I don’t believe that he’s a max player he’s a good player he’s not a great player um he I don’t know if he’s he’s not on the Superstar level so to invest in Max money in him I think that would be a mistake um I think they’re going to look to move him uh he’s maximized his potential with this particular roster and I just think they need to get some new blood in there uh to go along with a a Zion Williamson herb Jones who first team all defense they love him Trey Murphy is actually talked about they’re going to look to invest some of those dollars into him when he when he becomes eligible for an extension great move right here uh by trading for D Murray they didn’t really lose much uh in in this trade Dyson Daniels is another player that’s you know three or four or five years away so I just think um this is probably not I don’t know if it’s imminent but I don’t really see Brandon Ingram um Beyond this year upcoming season um spending time with the New Orleans Pelicans I think he’ll have a new home it’s just a matter of how soon and Ash you mentioned Lori Markin in so let’s Circle back to that rumor mill because that is a name that’s been out there before the Demar D rozan deal went down we heard the Kings potentially Golden State it seems like the trade talks have cooled off for now does it stay that way in your opinion do you think it’s going to pick back up where does he ultimately land in your opinion and and if there is a move when does it happen listen if we’ve learned anything from Danny age it’s not a matter of if it’s a matter of when but he’s going to try to get everything he can from the team he is going to trade with we saw that with the Donovan Mitchell situation the Knicks were willing to give a whole lot up for Donovan Mitchell but Danny a wanted more he got more from Cleveland in his mind I don’t think he did but whatever different story that’s of the past but bringing it back to Lori listen I absolutely love his game I mean he averages points per game almost eight and a half rebounds shoots almost 50% from the floor almost 40% from the three has drastically gotten better since he first began his career he’s only 27 years old so I do think that there is a high market for him I like him in OKC I think he would be a perfect fit with that young team that they have he’s a skilled shooter he’s a rebounder he brings so many different um assets to a team he has so many different depths of his game so many bags to his game rather I should say um like I said it’s a matter of if he gets when he gets traded not necessarily if I think he’s too much of an asset for what they’re trying to do in Utah which is I think rebuild Utah is weird they’ve always kind of gotten close not close enough and now they’ve gotten rid of Donovan Mitchell and a lot of other pieces they just haven’t really been able to figure out their groove they’re not quite a rebuild they’re somewhere in the weird Middle where there’s are there are pieces that you can go ahead and figure out what to do with but there are pieces that you need to add and in order to add you have to trade so all that to say Danny age will trade Lori Markin in but he is going to try to get the house the kitchen sink the garage all the dogs and maybe you know a future grandkid the mix that’s just how he does business so that that’s what he’s waiting on yeah I I would like to see Lori marinan maybe even find a home with golden state if they can figure out I think Wiggins needs a a new home uh so if they can figure out yeah you paring him was Steph Curry and obviously Draymond Green you lost a lot of shooting um with Klay Thompson I know they made the trade for uh buddy heel uh but I I think you know in this situation DeAnthony Milton was a nice pickup for Golden State signing a one-year deal but I would I believe that if he can find his way to Golden State uh not sure if golden state has enough trade assets to send back and probably got to get a a third team involved he would be a a nice fit next to uh Steph Curry gonna get the house the kitchen sink a dog and the grand kids and the grand kids Danny wants it all the whole family whole blood nothing Avery Johnson 1. How was the Jazz not trading with Cleveland a mistake over the Knicks. Remember Lauri was part of that deal to add the future Lauri trade asset to the DM deal. It will be a record haul when all said and done.

  2. I have no clue what she talking about but I think it's more of what the new rules changes that is preventing superteam. And I guess cause they got Murray wow I'm confused too!

  3. New rules but the Celtics bought the championship team back I guess this gonna be the last ride? Just gonna be hard moving forward with the team only can bring guys at a discounts!!After this upcoming season ends and the new rules kick in!

  4. Danny ainge thinks he has Micheal Jordan or some shit, he a great role player but that's it! Trade or get stuck with a great role player

  5. BI not going nowhere… watch the Murray interview they saved it for the end but he said him and BI brothers and he contacted him before the trade. And he smiled and all three hinted about the big 4…They was talking about a small ball lineup…. Ingram said at the exit they just needed a true PG and they got one… now it’s just up to them getting the contract right and I believe BI going to take a 3 year deal
