Thoughts on JT’s performance?
Obviously just an exhibition game but he looked like the best player for team USA at times, Kerr not starting him was wack but whatever. He played great nonetheless
I wouldn’t read too much into him not starting. He arrived late in camp and seemed they were playing two fixed lineups.

Who picks the coaches to coach the team? Why isn’t Joe Mazzulla coaching? He had the best record in the NBA this season and won the NBA finals. Can someone please explain the coaching process for Team USA

Honestly the second unit looks better than the first. I agree with other commenters saying this is the old guys’ last chance to play in the Olympics so Kerr is giving them the nod for starting. The plus minus and eye test both show the second unit is drastically better. Our boy Jrue played well and curry was his usual self but the rest of the first unit was mid, especially embiid who was ass.

He played enough minutes last season we don’t want him burning out carrying these old guys to a gold. Let them do the heavy lifting and he can enjoy being a role player and not stress
