Town sports.com Monty McNair really a what a 10 12 minute conversation with Mo of Duce and Mo and of course our our favorite Mark Jones during the California classic broadcast was asked basically about the whole roster besides jayen mcclaflin and we don’t even we were joking during the break about Jaylen mcgoffin just you know and the way Dave was talking about him during the during his show just doesn’t feel like he’s actually gonna be on the team I’m really really interested in how all that kind of ends it just is he’s just or just if he’s gonna be that much of a non-factor why be on the team that’s what that’s what it Jaylen mclaughin or McDaniels Jaylen McDaniels okay I was okay jayen McDaniels Jaylen McDaniels so yeah that that name didn’t come up but a lot of other names did and the one that kind of set up antennas was when Monty McNair spoke about Kevin herder we will let everyone decide if some members of the Kings fan base are doing too much but a lot of people thought that the way Monty McNair spoke about Kevin herder in this interview told them that Kevin herder may not be moved so the question is is Kevin herder maybe more Untouchable than we think or is Monty McNair just doing his job and making all of his guys sound really really good this still still recovering but I think on track and uh you know Kevin I think is somebody that um man the shooting uh unbelievable and just you know what he’s able to do for our team and you know I think underrated in his ability to getting the pick and roll make plays uh the size you know we were the number one defensive rebounding team last year and obviously sabonis has a huge part in that but Kevin is one of the best rebounding guards in the league and so I think that goes on no a little bit we’re excited to get him back we definitely missed him and Malik down the stretch yeah so that was it because I continued to listen and that was essentially it and there were people saying the way Mon’s talking about Kevin herder I don’t know he he might not be moved I think there’s a larger conversation and we have sound from Jason Ross in the morning show about what actually is available and and what you can do and how you can manipulate the roster but Chris and I just I I just love doing the show with you cuz I I feel like I know where you’re going to go with this but you listen to that clip and you think what that people are just ridiculous like what are we doing I I I will read you what uh Monty McNair said about Sasha VZ zenov on draft night anony SL I’m I I just he said on draft night when a Anthony Slater asked him about Sasha vazan cof and the rumors of hey like is there anything go truth to the rumors or anything like that Monty says we won’t get get into any of those rumors we are hopeful to find a way to do that for us here so if you want to read into that that’s Monty mcir telling us Sasha fenov is gonna be here he’s part of the plan they hope to keep Sasha vazen that one was different just complimented Kevin her that one was different we’re hopeful words like hopeful yeah he’s like oh Kevin herder can do great things for us it’s he’s a great shooter the Kevin herder it’s right on the line for me it’s right on the line for me that Sasha one the whole that that it’s a little bit too General this one was we it was it was close Kevin hder it was close to we need Nate Nate get in on this come on we need Kevin herder I think that he may be there might be a conspiracy here he’s hyping him up a bit for some trade value sure I mean I’m more willing to believe that and I would believe that too I I just I think that it’s I think he was asked a question and like if he says nothing about it that makes it more mysterious like he had to say something about it I I don’t know what people would like it becomes the qu yeah what person little it it did feel a little personal it felt what about that felt personal personal I’m not trying to throw you on the spot but like what that 30 second bringing up the defensive rebounds and how he’s underrated there trade value yep that could you can look at you can look at it either way I’m not I’m saying that this is what crazy to read from it like either way I think it’s insane to read anything from it because we’re excited to have him back I’m fing we miss him we miss him down the stretch I don’t think it’s insane true to read anything from it I think it’s fine but people get carried away people get carried away so quick yeah and I’m not I’m not even saying it’s me I’m saying we’re throwing it out there because people heard this and they said yeah is Kevin herder more Untouchable than we think I don’t I don’t necessarily think I think Monty is playing the game the game of what the game of making it yeah we want oh if you say it’s just like anything else if you say I want this right how many times have you been in the store you go to the store right and this is relable actual I have an actual story about this you guys ever pump gas you ever sit there you need some gas airplane food right right okay no but seriously I told you guys this story last week so I go to the Nike outlet I went to the Nike outlet to get some slides because I can’t I could not find my Nike Slides those are those are sandals by the way and baby Styles number one suspect probably yeah she she does move my stuff so my number one goal was to go in there and get some new slides okay I go in there and they don’t have my size they got a bunch of weird slides you know and there it’s it’s the outlet it’s fine so I say okay we’re there and now wifey is oh I’m just gonna go check check stuff out I’m I’m stuck with baby stles just looking for the slides I can’t find the slides so I say I’m just gonna go to my section I go to my section I go I I go to my section and what do I see I see somebody putting back a crispy pair of Air Force Ones all white Air Force Ones do I need Air Force Ones no but he put them back they were the only Air Force Ones left that size and that pair so what did I do I bought them I bought them because now somebody else wanted it so Monty McNair he’s making it sound like we want Kevin herder we need Kevin herder the opportunity yes we need the shooting we need the rebounding so now if you’re the Wizards or whoever wow I mean he is he is Monty was basically saying go check out his rebounds he’s he’s a shady good rebounder go you know he can stretch the floor and now the Wizards are saying you know what I need Kevin herder more than I Kevin herder is the Air Force One this sounds like my theory it’s not like a personal like hey we love Kevin he’s gonna be great here it’s yeah look at these weird Stat or not weird but like the not forward- facing stats like three-point brand Bel stats the Brandon belat like where else he can help your team that isn’t his role of being you know essentially a spot shooter right why are you shaking your head Chris I just like I’m sure Monty McNair complimented other players as well and are we reading into that too are we saying well because they’re not on the trade block I everybody could be on the trade block that’s another conversation just that’s another conversation I just didn’t hear anything in there that sways me either way on can we fire it up again just yeah give me give me one second if Kevin’s the shoe being put back if Kevin is the shoe is Kevin baby style slide which one is Kevin could could be kman is the slides okay here I got it right here give uh let’s let’s run this okay heard her entered his shoulder any updates that you might be able to tell us on how he’s coming along still still recovering but I think on track and uh you know Kevin I think is somebody that um man the shooting uh unbelievable and just you know and I was on neither side and after hearing it for a second time that is a sales pitch to me we’re all on the same side now I don’t think you’re moving the goal poost because you came in here like this is personal he loves him he’s hyping him up nothing about the sale was on the table until you asked me right that’s how I heard everything was always a possibility that’s how I heard the what a vague weird statement everything was always everything’s always a possibility that’s so true it’s just how quickly he moved to yeah yeah Kevin was great for us last year like he was he was so good like the man don’t forget the man man and then yeah you know he points out you know we were the best defensive team you know who was a big part of that Kevin her was a big big part of that defensive rebounding team I don’t take that as complimenting I take that as showcasing yeah check out this three but I was always with it either way with what now you’ve lost with what selling yeah whether he’s I what I laid out no what I laid out it’s his shoes I’m so confused that was a great that was a great analogy they they’re telling me on the text line what I laid out they people are saying what I laid out was what I saw yesterday from some Kings fans I never took a side okay as far as if I agreed with it or I did not agree okay as far I was just I was just presenting I was just asking a question well it’s Styles and Watkins not fans and Watkins so please present your side of the argument okay what from but that’s what I’m saying I agree with you guys I think it was more showcased I think if we’re just talking about trading him I think his value is at a pretty much an all-time low Kevin herder right now coming off one of his worst SE or worst performances may not statistically be his Worst season but getting benched getting hurt like busted shoulder no pun intended uh busted shoulder yeah I I think you run it back with herder you try to get him back into the groove and if he’s playing well the first half the season maybe there’s a deadline move that makes sense or something but if not just run it with him like let’s do it I don’t if he can return a form I don’t think Monty’s sending out any coded messages there nothing like that like like Chris said he’s saying nice things about Sasha and then ships him out like yeah that’s what they do yeah it’s what it’s
