The New York Knicks Just Did EXACTLY What The NBA Feared..

there’s absolutely no answer for what the New York Knicks are doing the disrespect is real and nobody seems to notice what this team is capable of this team has so much potential that the NBA still hasn’t realized the New York Knicks just did exactly what the NBA feared and that’s what we’re going to talk about in this video our two rookies Tyler KY K and pomier have signed deals with KY K making NBA history by securing the most guaranteed money ever for a second round pick meanwhile B took 80% of the rookie scale in year one which will increase significantly in the future this move saves the Knicks about $94,000 this season providing them with more financial flexibility the team aims to use the mid-level taxpayer exception around $5.3 million to acquire a center they want to avoid the second apron which would freeze their future picks something they are Keen to prevent the Knicks are focused on enhancing their roster to remain competitive and win now while also planning for long-term success starting off with dyer he signed a deal worth $ 1.8 million this is quite significant because the maximum he could have signed for was $2.7 Million which means the Knicks now have an additional $900,000 in cap space this extra cap space is going to be a big help for the team as they move forward and look to make other strategic moves Dyer is an interesting player for several reasons although he will technically be on the next roster I expect him to spend most if not all of this season playing with the g-league team in Westchester he’s only 18 years old but he already has experienced playing professional basketball in Europe where he showed consistent Improvement every month this kind of growth is very promising for a young player entering the NBA standing at 6’8 Dyer is an incredible offall scorer who knows how to space the floor and can shoot the ball exceptionally well this skill set is crucial in the NBA we’re having players who can move without the ball understand defensive Dynamics and shoot efficiently is highly valued it’s rare to find young players of his height who possess these abilities this year’s draft class didn’t have many great Shooters but Dyer stands out as someone who can shoot the lights out while his offensive skills are impressive Dyer still needs to work on his rebounding and defense he’s a bit raw in these areas but the Knicks are in a good position to be patient with his development this wasn’t a pick made with the expectation of immediate impact instead it was a developmental pick signaling that the Knicks are confident in their current roster and are looking to the Future they chose a player with high potential someone who could eventually become a starter and even more than that a player who could give them 18 to 20 points a night with high level efficiency I must admit I didn’t know much about Dyer when the Knicks drafted him this isn’t a slight against him I just hadn’t watched a a lot of these prospects however once I reviewed his tape I saw a player with a strong desire to win and improve Kevin OK Conor from the ringer described him well skilled shooter off the dribble he’s comfortable pulling up for mid-range whether it’s stopping on a dime or stepping back if he extends his range he could become a scoring machine Dyer is a young talented player with significant potential the Knick’s decision to sign him at a lower cost freeze up valuable cap space and allows them to focus on his development in the G lead this move reflects their strategic approach to building a strong competitive team for the future while maintaining flexibility and depth in their current roster ESPN’s Jonathan Javon praised dyer for his toughness and efficiency while playing in a pro league against bigger and older players javon’s comments highlight Dyer’s ability to hold his own in a challenging environment which bodess well for his transition to the NBA Dyer himself spoke about his game saying I think I’m really versatile but can also bring what a rookie needs to bring to a team bring some energy being able to grab a rebound and push the ball but also knock down some shots this quote gives us insight into his mindset and what he believes he can contribute to the team his emphasis on versatility and energy along with his confidence in rebounding and shooting shows that he understands the demands of the NBA and is ready to meet them what’s also interesting is that Dyer looks up to players like Paul George Demar D rozan Brandon Ingram and Tracy McGrady these are all highlevel scorers with good size and skills by modeling his game after such accomplished players Dyer shows that he aims to develop a well-rounded skill set and become a significant contributor to his team in the future looking ahead I think Dyer has the potential to be an exciting player for the Knicks a couple of years down the line this season however I don’t expect too much from him in terms of immediate impact he will be participating in the summer league which will be a great opport Unity for him to Showcase his talents and start adjusting to the PACE and style of the NBA dire’s toughness versatility and willingness to learn from some of the best players in the game suggest that he has a bright future his performance in the summer league will be something to watch and it will give us a glimpse of what he might bring to the Knicks in the coming years looking at Tyler KY K he was my favorite pick of the Knicks draft there were a lot of good picks and I liked all of them but this one stood out the Knicks were targeting KCK had picked 24 but didn’t get him then they got him in the second round instead he signed a 4-year $9 million contract with a $6.6 million guarantee the highest ever for a second round pick in NBA history the previous record was $6.4 Million KCK is exactly what the Knicks needed they needed someone who can pass the ball and bring toughness Off the Bench Jaylen Brunson and Miles McBride are great pair but McBride isn’t a pure playmaker KCK fills that roll something the Knicks lacked last season I previously suggested using the mid-level exception to get someone like Kyle Lowry who can pass and hit open threes but the Knicks now have KY K who is much younger and cheaper at $9 million over four years he’s a bargain especially if he can contribute right away free agency contracts are huge so getting KY k at this price is great I believe he’ll make plays and have the right mindset he want wants to win is willing to play any role and is happy to be with the Knicks I’m excited to see him and the other young players in action in other news for the Knicks there’s a lot to cover but I want to mention Leon Rose he’s made some great second round picks Emanuel quickley and Quinton Grimes were first round picks with Grimes being picked at 25 and playing a huge role the season before last as a starter quickley has been one of the best sixth men in basketball at 25 miles McBride was the 36th pick Jaylen Brunson wasn’t drafted by the Knicks but he was a second round pick as was hartenstein many players who have been contributing to the Knicks were late or second round picks which is very interesting for the Knicks summer league our first game is on Saturday July 13th at 5:00 p.m. Eastern against the Hornets only five players are confirmed Dyer Ariel hire Tyler KY K Kevin mcculler Jr and likely Alex okamo as reported by by Ian Begley rookus jacobitas drafted in 2021 might play depending on if Lithuania qualifies for the Olympics if they qualify he’ll be in France if not there’s a strong chance he’ll join the summer league Lithuania has won its first two qualifying games so if they keep winning jacobius won’t be at the summer league if he does play it’s exciting because he can shoot well and is a lefty like Julius Randall and Jaylen Brunson there’s something special about left-handed players we have five confirmed players for our team Saturday against the Hornets and Tuesday against the Nets both games will be nationally televised then we play on Wednesday and Friday and that’s our schedule it will be interesting to see the rookies play especially Tyler KY K I think he’ll have a role on the main roster even as a rookie coach tibo usually doesn’t develop young players but KY K seems ready to go other guys like d might not get a strong chance even if they perform well if KCK doesn’t perform well it will hurt his chances the summer league matters but it’s not everything the Knicks are focused on winning now aiming for a championship it’s exciting to see the summer league guys compete and have fun there’s more news but I’ll cover it in a different video I’ll react to What Isaiah hartenstein said about leaving the Knicks and discuss one of our top coaches moving to the Cavs until next time peace
