Aaron Miles on team’s focus for Game 1, Jordan Hawkins | 2024 NBA Summer League
here with head coach Aaron miles summer league head coach first time getting to coach the team up what are your kind expectations of being here uh well you know just come out here for our for our team to call out and compete right uh we got a great coaching staff uh we got some talented players man that are very coachable um they worked hard had a great training camp and so man you just want to go out there and compete man and uh the stuff that we installed go out there and execute it what are you focused on getting out of the team over Summer League uh but we just want to build great habits um you know we got some young guys Hawkins who you know in his second year uh Carlo you know was in the organization been in the organization for uh a couple years now but uh you got you know we drafted ease drafted Antonio we just want to continue to build a foundation build great habits first and foremost um and then go out there and let them get a little bump you know let them have a little fun out there um and and compete I mean I think that’s a big part in the NBA is uh uh competitiveness so those guys particularly got to go out and compete and then everybody else hopefully have opportunity to showcase themselves as well with Jordan Hawkins coming into year two here getting a little extra run in summer league what would you like to see him work on yeah we talked about that right uh you know obviously uh continue to focus on the defensive end you know coach green you know if you ain’t playing no defense you ain’t getting into the game so and haulk got better uh throughout the course of the Season U we know he can make shots we know he’ll do that um another thing from offensive standpoint is uh playmaking right you know put the ball in his hand a little bit and see see if he can make some plays for us which uh he’s done a great job of any player that we aren’t familiar with that we should be looking out for come game time all 13 of them all 13 of them man the this a good group man uh high IQ up in the building uh High competitiveness um so I’m excited to see them all you know they’ve been beating up on each other for the last couple of days so uh I’m I’m excited to see him get the chance to compete against some other teams thanks all right

I think Hawkins already showed off some playmaking chops last season, if he can grow into that a little more and also become a solid defender .. the sky is the limit.
