With Lowry back, I can confidently say this is our best basketball team since 2001 and/or the mid 1980s.
In the moment Simmons/Harris/Butler/Embiid may have seemed it… and that team was on the wrong end of a game 7 bounce, but we forget that embiid is a far better player than he was 5 years ago. Quite literally becoming an MVP.
Maxey became an all star. Paul George is an 8 time all star, including 2023. And Martin/Oubre vs Tobias is… well it’s not Tobias.
But beyond skill this team compliments one another. We aren’t completely devoid of a back up center. We have Drummond instead of Amir Johnson, or Deandre Jordan, or Dwight Howard. We don’t have to start our veteran shooter. This isn’t a team where Seth curry, JJ, Danny Green, need to get 30+ minutes, but one where the shooter (Eric Gordon) can finally come off the bench. And ultimately we finally have a guy like Lowry who will be scrappy, annoying, take the playoff charge, and isn’t completely a wash on offense like older PJ (sorry PJ) or have to play 40 minutes alongside Maxey like Lowry did last year.
This is the best team yet. Everyone undeadbolt the door… it’s time to let hope back in.

Lowry signing officially brings us to 11 (Maxey, Kelly, PG, Caleb, Jo, Drum, Bona, Lowry, Gordon, Jared, RC4). We assume KJ is 12. This means we have 2 minimum slots left to hit 14.
It *feels* like we are going to sign Morris Sr (dont love how much Nick will play him), so think we probably look at another wing as the 14th man and then use the last 2-Way slot on a point guard.
Really interested to see where we go for depth pieces. Think bringing positive vibes guys is a big thing from here too.
Still think we are a lacking in passing which is a concern – lots of play finishers, not a lot of set-up men on the roster.

The team needs some more youth. Don’t sign Marcus Morris. Sign some younger guys. For this roster, I’d much rather sign Precious than Morris.
