[Andrews] Regardless if it was it was Thompson or someone else, Dunleavy says it was clear they couldn’t run back the same group they did the past two seasons. Says they’re still looking around the league for other additions, but getting someone immediately would be tough.

How about Bertans on a minimum?
So letting Klay go without a replacement is better?
If steph leaves bc we can’t get him any help I will be so heart broken
The best they could do now is trade someone. I was hoping we could’ve gotten Dejounte as a starting SG. Obviously not a prime Klay match, but he’s an All Defensive Guard that can get 20+ ppg. He would’ve gotten easier looks and an efficiency boost playing alongside Steph.
Right now we’re hoping that JK can be a consistent 2nd option with shooting and POA defense improvements. But then we still need a 3rd option. And with Wiggs being checked out, he’s not it.
They didn’t have to run it back, they could have moved CP3, adapted Klay’s role, upgraded off Saric, moved Wiggins or gave him a different role, and re-evaluated expectations and role for Moody, Podz, and JK. If they got stuck, they could have moved Podz, and drafted another PG but with 4 years in a strong program or flipped a prospect for a backup PG. Or hell, they could have hung on to CP3, and let him actually shoot.
i’m holding out hope for lauri
Sounds like this is the team. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
I feel the front office has done very well given the situation.
I used to atleast be able to say “We have the Core 3 so anything is possible.”, but now we have what? The Klay hate from last year was the most ridiculous trash in the world.
It was always going to be Klay. PR statement
What a disaster summer
I like Klay, but he would have still brought the same bad vibes to the team.
Feels bad man
Common sense
I would’ve rather watch the core 3 do their thing until they retired than have what we have now. Our current roster is just not a good team imo and I expect us to be worst than last year.
I think they were closer than they looked. Dray’s absence slowed chemistry. And Steve took a looooong time to give TJD real minutes. And he gave away a few games by subbing out the hot hand.
Klay didn’t want to come back, he moved on and gets a fresh start for the last leg of his career. I wish him well.
