Sacramento Kings rookie Devin Carter will miss at least 6 months

now that he’s 51 years old all right the uh statement reads uh Devin Carter went and had successful something something something surgery on his shoulder and uh he will be re-evaluated in six months Sports surgeries are like 100% right meaning what I can’t think of like an unsuccessful surgery that you know it’s so funny cuz you’re so lame like me like I had the same thing was like has there ever been one where they’re like John Smith had unsuccessful surgery on his knee we’re going to have to take his arm yeah it’s it’s done his career I don’t remember ever reading one of those if it’s happened great I mean well actually if it’s happened bad but I they’re always successful and and also how do you know it was successful what what I mean let’s not use Devin Carter because I don’t want to jinx it but let’s say Jason Ross had successful surgery on his shoulder uh he’ll be out you he’ll be reevaluated in six months well what if your career never the same and you have to like change arms to shoot like do we go back and say that was unsuccessful surgery I would think that would qualify but I don’t think anyone will do that I don’t think anybody goes back and goes hey remember when they said it was successful it’s not in this case it sounds very similar to what Kevin herder went through and what his surgery was and and no no two people are the same and no two recoveries are the same but if Devin Carter is out six months I I I guess the first question is do you still pick him if you know in advance and only Monty’s going to know the answer to that but if you know in advance you’re not getting this guy I understand remember we mentioned Blake Griffin and Ben Simmons and Joel embiid and um Chad hren yeah those were all like number one picks and you know embiid who I think was four three four yeah I think you’re right so you got one twos and threes right there you’re spending a you know late lotto Pick and and and by the way maybe now we take away some of that roster and balance stuff yeah I mean I well first off I mean I think if we had Monty on today he’s like of course like he wouldn’t change his mind of course he yeah you’re right um but I also will go to I’ll use his words and he said even the night of the of the announcement of him as the pick like they’re looking for people in the draft to be on the team and help them long term so whether or not the player you draft is Rookie of the Year or a slow developer or in this case injured he’s not checking that box until later right like we wouldn’t even know like the argument let’s even take Tyrese Halbert who came in right away and was good well he’s not a longterm right he’s turned into sabonis right but the argument would be well he’s not on this team for five years he was barely on this team Davon Mitchell wasn’t on this team that long now they played right away and contributed so I think he I think he looks at the draft in general as a longer term Prospect under rookie contract you would like it to be successful so you get a second contract on the same team so this injury is irrelevant to that but it’s still a I mean it’s a one it’s a negative for Carter like he just starts behind even let’s be positive and he comes back early he’s still behind let’s be negative he comes back lat or misses the whole season he’s still behind yeah and so a team that thinks they’re better also thinks he’s going to help you don’t have him helping you right now or at the beginning but I think the answer my long answer for all that is I think he would still take it here’s my thing why why why is it okay to not share Medicals I’m just thinking here for a second just just going going on a side road like he’s still getting paid his contract for the whole year isn’t that kind of fraudulent if you know that you have an injury and you’re and by the way I don’t know this is the case let me be clear I’m not trying to go in on Devin Carter I’m saying in general he’s far from a lot of players don’t share Medicals even if they’re healthy they just don’t do it this isn’t about Devin Carter I’m just asking philosophically if a team is going to spend a pick on you especially a lotto Pick and then invest in what that rookie scale contract is and you you’ve got an existing injury and now all of a sudden you’re going to miss at least half if not an entire season like why I wonder why that’s okay why is that not a requirement yeah and do we ever get full clarity on when the because I thought initially it was something that may have happened during the workouts and then I thought he had something where he said yeah he kind of played with it this year yeah that’s yeah he said he was playing he uh I think I think Carter actually it Carter himself yeah I think he tweeted about it that that he he played the uh there’s another Devin Carter and I follow this dude too but I I always there’s a Devon Carter that’s a owner of DC’s Transportation LLC in North Carolina Chapel Hill always fools I’m a big follower huge follower um but yeah he he said he was talking I think to the you know he was saying hey frier gang or whatever referring to Providence fans like yeah I played with that all year long I again I would I would go back to like how is the NBA how’s the NBA not worked out that you you should have to um share your Medicals well there’s a lot that you can’t hippo right they can’t force you but also I mean I’m I’m not trying to give anybody the uh benefit here but like if if he truly did play with it I’m I’m gonna believe him so the Kings obviously liked what they saw a lot of people liked what they saw worked his way up to a lottery Pick and he did work out with the Kings and he did work out with other teams so if you see all that and that all looks normal I’m not saying you hide because I think they they generally test all these things um I I I get the belief that they were going to do it no matter what well that’s the belief no I I don’t I don’t think you’re wrong because he just a bummer on so many levels yeah it is and by the way let’s let’s let’s talk about what it isn’t okay it’s not like the end of the season and now they’re going to slip like three spots I’m not saying Deon Carter wouldn’t have helped or been but we’re also talking about a rookie who’s never played for this team let’s not act like uh it’s not dear yeah exactly it’s not like oh my God Deon Carter’s and by the way Deon Carter might be a future five-time Allstar but we we don’t have that yet so this isn’t like the end of the world it’s just in a vacuum uh it’s unfortunate now at the same time we’ll talk about this at 7:13 gonna benefit somebody somebody in the rotation yeah and then the other part look we can’t forget um at least what the reports were Dave that the kings were willing to move the 13th pick so if that was a road remember we talked about this before the board in the room has multiple ways to go one of their thoughts was hey can you pair the 13th pick with something without a name attached to it well they couldn’t they or they didn’t like they didn’t like it and so then say hey look this is a player we do like let’s take him and then now unfortunately this is the the next PATH of that uh that decision so crappy part of our jobs by the way is that we we are in a position where we all have to comment and OPP on things and we don’t know what happened right like it’d be one thing if we could be like well they could have they could have taken herder in the pick and kman was sitting right there we could know like all the deals and then be like well they should have done that they should have we don’t even know was the best one and the fact is we can only guess as to what it was well what we’ve got is we’ve got a hurt rookie that uh that that we’re not going to see for a while um but you know maybe gives him an opportunity to sit front row and learn and you know get into the NBA and yeah you know find his way find his way all right more on that later we’ll take a break when we come back safe or out Farhan zti in San Francisco Giant Edition he had some comments yesterday on Bay Area radio that caught myi in the meantime uh much like I’m sure Devin Carter got you want to make sure if you have the opportunity for something as important as an HV system you get a second opinion and that’s exactly what your second opinion partner in American Energy air American Energy heating and air but American Energy a.com but that’s what they’ll give you so let’s say you had a tech come out diagnose your HVAC system and you were surprised at how expensive it was and look I don’t know maybe you’re different than me but I don’t know what an HVAC system is supposed to cost and I don’t know what what a HVAC repair is supposed to cost you you trust these people that you’ve never met and that you don’t know to come into your house and we’ve all heard the horror stories like taking your your car into a mechanic if you don’t know anything about cars and it’s like well your flux capacitor is broken and uh that’ll be $2,000 how do you really know unless you know cars whether or not that’s a that’s a fair quote it’s no different with HVAC systems you have to trust the reputation of the company you’re dealing with an American Energy heating and air has been around since ‘ 81 they have an A+ with the Better Business Bureau you can go online Google yep whatever read the reviews for yourself get a second opinion from them worst case scenario is the best case scenario which is you already got a really good quote and you’re going to use the other guys but give give these guys a chance to to beat it and save you a little bit of money 916520 9990 that’s 916520 9990 American Energy

  1. I am guessing the Carter was exactly the type of player (with high potential) Monte wants long term and was worth the risk and delay!

  2. Medical info is under HIPPA Requirements, player must approve disseminating the information!
