Some of my favorite reactions to the Brunson extension

  1. Itā€™s about time the league decided to rig things in our favor /s

  2. BlancoBenny

Almost everyone bitching like this donā€™t even understand exactly what happened with the extension. Almost all the negative comments Iā€™ve read are acting like he straight up just signed for 113 million dollars less than he couldā€™ve gotten which as we all know is not the reality of the situation.
Thereā€™s a lot of cope and fear being framed as anything but and itā€™s hilarious tbh

  3. I’m not sure if Sixers fans are mentally sane people, but I hope all that hate on Brunson helps them with whatever they’re going through.

I’m being nice here, after I saw them losers go to Jay Wright twitter account to insult Brunson. They were mad that Brunson was foul baiting while they had Joel Embiid on their team. Mfs are shameless lol

  4. Funny enough the third guy is a Sixers fan and they can’t even get to the second round with the guy who’s supposedly good enough to win a title

  5. How do people STILL not understand the Hartenstein thing?

OG Anunoby could have signed for a Subway gift card and the Knicks still couldn’t have offered any more money than they did.

If OKC threw out 20 million a year, maybe he comes back for 17 plus.

29 million? It would have against the law somewhere to not take that deal.

  6. Silver_Broccoli7944

Still bummed we bounced them in the first round I see!

  7. MaxStunning_Eternal

    Absolutely deranged.

  8. spreerod1538

Jalen Brunson is probably so pissed because he got duped into taking less money than OG.Ā  I’m sure he didn’t realize that and it’ll cause problems later !

  9. u/Binturong_90 must forgot what ā€œIsaiah Thomasā€ did to his team just a few months ago šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

  10. Theyā€™re all mad that the players on their team wouldnā€™t do the same thing

  11. whatiseeisme

The absolute cope from those people is hilarious, but also alarming

  12. IDownvoteRedditAds

“Doesn’t bother me at all. The Knicks are cooked. We might be cooked too, but at least our best guy is actually good enough to win a title with.”

HAHAHAHA let the cope out lil man u/Binturong_90

  13. BadassRPMofo

Those are beautiful. Keep the hate coming.

Fans of rival teams won’t be able to appreciate the type of men this team is made up of. The notion of leaving some meat on the bone for your friends is foreign to them.

  14. amateur_techie

Sixers fans still annoyed that the only people to bring a championship in a major sport to the Wells Fargo Center all play for the Knicks

  15. SittingJackFlash

ā€œIt should be illegal to take less money so his team can compete for a championshipā€

    CRY MORE LOL

  16. Neither-Operation

OG is responsible for iHart leaving?šŸ¤£ Also the part about Brunson getting money ā€œunder the tableā€ is the dumbest thing Iā€™ve heard all year.Brunson would be suspended for a season at minimum or even permanently if caught. The Knicks would also face devastating consequences that would destroy everything weā€™ve built and leave us crippled for years.Who the hell would risk that?

  17. S1LVERSTAK

He is doing things that were done by Mahomes, Brady, Jeter. What do they all have in common…CHAMPIONS!!!

  18. fluffanuttatech

Lmao people are mad as if it’s their money it’s hilarious

  19. tuffenstein0420

Jalen is playing the long game. He knows damn well he’ll be paid for the rest of his life 50 fold if he makes this sacrifice and brings a championship to NY. Yes, it’s a risk but the reward is undeniably huge

  20. Saucy_Totchie

Sixers fans have nothing to talk about after signing a 34 year old declining Paul George more than $50M a year only for a 2nd round exit again at best.

  21. Lonnie_Shelton

My impression is that players rarely begrudge their teammates for leveraging their financial positions. And letā€™s not forget that the Knicks were 20-3 with OG in the lineup.

  22. hornthecheck

The takes about how players would react to OG being paid the most is insane to me. OG negotiated his contract first, and Brunson deliberately took less after OG signed. Clearly Jalen doesnā€™t care about whoā€™s paid the most. Leaders make that move 10/10 times knowing that money is gonna come from other avenues

  23. OnlyHereForNYSports

Philly fans do realize their team will be paying huge bucks to ancient PG, right?

  24. Aaaaaaandyy

The reactions Iā€™m seeing are laughable. Thinking heā€™s gonna be injury prone and wonā€™t get an extension next year. Just overlooking the obvious answer- heā€™s in the perfect environment with his best friends and are gonna work to win a ring.

  25. i-piss-excellence32

The only time I remember thinking somebody was taking money under the table was andrei kirilenko when he took the minimum to play with New Jersey

  26. mattbrianjess

If the goal is to be worth 400 million instead of 200 million when he retires (assuming he throws his money in an index fund and doesn’t buy beach houses in the Hamptons with Josh Hart) sure its bad business. That is just math. Take every dollar on the table. Take every endorsement you can. I wouldn’t blame anyone for telling the billionaires who run the nba to suck my dick from the back

But how many times over do you need to be a hundred millionaire? He is the face of NY sports and playing with his college buddies.

And if he makes more from endorsements over the life of his Knicks contracts than he does in salary I would not be surprised.

And imdoninjah doesn’t know what Early Bird Rights mean.

  27. It’s dumb. Every fan wishes their star would do this. But rarely do they ever actually do it. So when another team’s star takes less, it’s like a defense mechanism to assume something shady is going on rather than admit the dude just cares more about winning than making the most money possible.

  28. LegitimateMoney00

Celtics fans are incredibly more sane than Sixers fans which just shows you have incredibly delusional they are. Phillies fans are the exact same way too.

  29. People forget that OG took a pay cut as well. He left max offers on the table to resign with us

  30. People making six figures or less not understanding a guy slated to make 100s of millions not feeling the need to make more money. What’s wrong with people figuring they have enough and deciding it could be used better elsewhere? Greed is a disease

  31. ReleaseTheBlacken

Let them cry because no one is as committed to their city.

  32. bananatripsonman

Someone needs to write a think piece on the wild reactions weā€™ve seen. Itā€™s honestly an interesting barometer on societal attitudes about money, sacrifice etc.

  33. Sure-Region-7225

OG and IHart had NOTHING to do with each other. They could’ve let OG walk outright and still not offered IHart a penny more than they were able to after extending OG. They were over the cap regardless so they could only offer Hartenstein a 175% raise whether OG stayed or left

  34. therealjgreens

It’s wild how much hate this team is getting without a “viable superstar”.

Man, fuck the haters. Fuck the media. This will be the most beloved Knicks team in a long time, maybe forever.

Why get on the Internet just to hate on other people. I know it makes them feel good in some way, shape, or form but maybe focus on not being a dick hole? Theres so much more to life than a player taking less money so he can win more. That’s what certified leaders do. They make sacrifices for the betterment of the group. For the top leaders, it usually pays off in the end. Brunson is building his own empire but all the haters can think about is $113m what would they do.
