GET UP | “Paul George and the 76ers are good enough to overtake Celtics next season” – Windy claims

Bobby I’ll start with you what grade would you give the reigning Champion those Celtics well it’s got to be an a you dat the Jason Tatum supermax extension the Derek white signing they even brought the band back Luke cornette and Xavier Tillman keep an eye out on a Sam Hower possible extension Brian they don’t even have to show up for school they can just come at the end of the year and show up for finals here so I give them an a can I just go pass or fail I Lov to those classes after field classes yeah I got to agree with Bobby I mean listen the window is open and we are going to dissect the opportunity and should they be the favorites again um they’re just really starting to hit their their Prime and their stride and so keeping this core together fantastic yeah I got to go with an A2 okay you know this next team really well Monica what grade would you give the next uh I got a B+ on this one uh I really like the Mel Bridges Edition I have some concerns about the five position obviously Isaiah hardenstein getting paid in Oklahoma City and as he should I’d like to see them reinforce that position uh now here’s the thing though Mitchell Robinson was terrific before that injury in the fall he was terrific when he made his way back in the postseason and Julius Randall some kind of way I think people are forgetting about him as an interior reinforcement both scoring and defending Monica and I come from the same school of grading so I am going to give them the B+ also and I and I agreee with her wholeheartly I think the biggest concern for me certainly the hartenstein loss is the durability of Mitchell Robinson as far as staying healthy throughout the season we’ll see if they can bring back precious to Chua they created some flexibility by reworking that M Mel Bridges trade but B+ for me okay um Bobby what about the Sixers they’ve certainly been aggressive what grade would you give them it’s an A minus I I’m not giving them an a right now because there’s still some work to do certainly Paul George and Tyrese maxi and Kelly UB three big signings here but I’m interested to see what they do with their front Court they need some size here certainly need a starting power forward you know you talk about Paul George and certainly uh it’s been hyped all week long but one person who’s certainly not buying into it are Brian winhurst uh take a listen to what he had to say this is now the fourth time that you could say that he was a leading headline in the off season the previous three have led to what I’m tired of sitting here the first week of July and declaring that AP Paul George arrival changes the everything wow how about that Bobby are we overestimating you think the impact of Paul George well listen I think it’s different than when he went to Oklahoma City and then when he went to the Clippers the last time he he was traded here Paul George is walking into a Sixers team where he’s the third best player he’s not the best player that’s Jo embiid he’s not the second best player that’s Tyrese Maxi so I think the expectation are a little bit different here in Philadelphia what do you think Monica o Bobby I don’t know here’s my thing we do I agree with Wendy calling this out because we keep doing this based on potential and at a certain point potential becomes an insult when it’s no longer realized right and so I had to go back and look this year Paul George playing 74 games changes how I feel a little bit about that conversation shot 47% from the field it feels like Philly is ready made but the combination of Philly’s un fortunate events when it comes to the postseason not getting past the second round and sort of the history of Paul George I don’t know that this is going to meet the expectations that folks have for it if that’s the case Bobby are the Sixers now good enough to overtake the Celtics no they’re not and neither are the Knicks I think Boston’s on an island by themselves right now I think the window to overtake Boston is going to be in 2025 26 when possibly this Celtics team could break up because of finances M and so if we’re talking just the East Monica in your opinion what team is the biggest threat then to the Celtics gosh that’s that’s tough again you would look at this Sixers roster and probably say that they are built the best H it’s sort of debatable they need to figure out a couple things in terms of defense like Bobby just talked about but you would at least look at Joel embiid and say that’s a reigning MVP if he’s healthy right but I do think when it comes to the Knicks they went out and got guys that could go the Celtics particularly their core three if you want to call it that I mean you can stretch it out to four but interchange that third piece I do agree with Bobby that there’s still some distance to cover to me the X Factor in this conversation is going to be which unit has the best chemistry and the want to for one another and that’s where I would give the Knicks an advantage because obviously the villain NOA piece right and so we got to see Paul George two weeks ago I was just on we was on the show talking about it Paul George has discussed fit as something that he’s looking for and I just think in general I subscribe to based on the history of it the only time that the Superstar of Paul George’s caliber has worked as a centerpiece in year one was Toronto so even if this does work we’re more than likely not talking about it working this season uh Bobby your thoughts well listen I look back on certainly the 2010 Miami team and I know this is different than where Philadelphia is that team took a year to try to figure it out they didn’t win a championship until the the following year when they beat when they beat Dallas here so I or when they lost when they beat Oklahoma City and they lost to Dallas the first year so I I think it’s going to be I think it’s going to be a work in progress Brian I think certainly there’s going to be a name tag when we get to training camp basically everybody’s going to have a name tag because there’s so many new faces interesting we’ll see uh let’s keep talking who but let’s move on to the W and let’s start with the performance of the night from Kill nuts so I’m going to say this is not MC nuts and hear me out before you say they didn’t go grab a big fish uh I think they have to understand that they’re now in a different category of team as far as being contenders I love Kyle Anderson I love buddy Hill I think they are terrific role players um they’re going to be able to space the floor again Anderson is very versatile I don’t know or I don’t think I should say that there was a big fish that would have put them over the proverbial hump so all things considered I think this is patient this is measured um and this is okay they’re entering a new eror Bobby what would you R Golden State’s off season thus far I would put them in the top five on July 5th as far as off Seasons here I really like the Kyle Anderson and De Anthony Melton and certainly buddy heel you know certainly three separate transactions there but here’s the butt as Monica said is this roster good enough to get from 46 wins last year in a 10 seed here I still have questions about that okay uh let’s go to uh where would you talk about LeBron and the Lakers Monica they’re going to miss the playoffs with their current roster is that MC nuts uh I don’t think this is MC nuts and I I again we’re entering a new era with these teams right like I don’t think this is MC nuts I do think they find a way to get in but when you look at it right now you have to have a healthy respect for the rest of the Western Conference and what these young teams are doing the teams at the top for most of the season last year were a lot of younger guys that are going after their idols and their St and the people that have inspired them to play basketball at a high level and flat out there are just other better rosters Bobby you agree disagree yeah I I I agree I agree with Monica and I I look at it this way be be aware of two teams Memphis who missed the playoffs this past year with John Morant back healthy and certainly Houston that young rocket team here two teams that missed the playoffs that can certainly contend as far as at least in the top 10 here so I think the Lakers missing the Playoffs I think that’s certainly a not a possibility but I think it certainly could happened here okay Monica last question Maverick should be the favorites to make the finals in the west is that mcnut uh I’m going to go with this one being mcnut just a smidge I have a ton of respect for what they were able to complished they retain that core I think Klay Thompson is the perfect piece um I think Klay Thompson will be able to get back to himself before it’s all set and down in a M’s uniform but again we got to respect what’s happening in the Western Conference and to me as I look at out this thing I Bobby mentioned two teams that you got to consider that could really muck it up but I also think OKC made them requisite moves that they needed this off season and you would be a Miss to overlook them and so I just think the field is going to be tough in the Western Conference and so I can’t I don’t know about favorites I don’t know about favorites Bobby your thoughts well I love what Oklahoma City did and certainly what Dallas has done but I’m going to say that the West goes through Minnesota and they bring back the starting five I love what they did in the draft with with Rob Dillingham and teren Shannon they still have Nas Reed nille Alexander Walker here so for me it’s Minnesota oh how about that Minnesota I like it but again we’re talking about these young teams so and this is why all things considered I think the West is going to be as tough as it was this past season I don’t think that Denver’s done they’ve got some questions obviously they lost some key pieces but I I just it’s going to be really really exciting and we’re witnessing The Changing of the Guard Monica what is in your opinion favorite move of free agency I think it’s OKC for me um I I can remember calling a game alongside Mark Jones early in the season and Jonesy and I are going back and forth arguing about what OKC does or does not need to add and I totally understand looking at this thing and being like they’re a veteran away they’re a big away but again to me culture is so important we’ve heard guys talk about fit right fit SL culture synonyms when it comes to basketball the additions that they made and Caruso a veteran that is respected that is a star in his role player Isaiah hardstein an outstanding young man again a star in his role to me they fit the culture that is so important to what’s happening in OKC Bobby just said he thinks it goes through Minnesota do you think it goes through Oklahoma City uh West we got to do this already y’all it’s July 5th look man it’s got to go through one of them you think it’s one of them it might be Denver too I mean here’s the thing if Dallas can put together and Bobby tell me if you agree the way Dallas what was it post All-Star break this year the way Dallas looked defensively we got to see if that was a small sample size that allow them to stand out in that regard or if they can maintain that over the course of an actual season and of course with the additions of clay if Dallas can hold that level of defense and that level of offense we may very well all be eating our words in terms of it’s going to go through Dallas okay Bobby what about Oklahoma City I mean I know you just talked about how you like Minnesota what about Oklahoma City though well listen they traded for Alex Caruso they signed Isaiah hartenstein the only player they lost was Josh Giddy and Brian they’re still sitting on these boatload of draft picks it cost them nothing they brought back Aaron Wiggins and Isaiah Joe continuity matters in his League when you have an all NBA player in Shay gildas Alexander a top three MVP candidate I think certainly Oklahoma City yep we’re going to put them right up there with the best teams in the Western Conference oh we got a lot to talk about hoop football every thing [Music] [Music] because fore under ATT I spee speech foreign fore en you of I one all

  1. Nonsense and you can stop the 76ers hype right now because pg 13 is no difference maker and the knicks will win the east .

  2. How can these folks sit on the panel and say they are built better then the celtics?? How is jrue white brown tatum prozingis not better then maxey, some sg, pg, some pf, n embidd?

  3. Maxey, Caleb Martin, Oubre, PG Embiid should be the starting lineup. You don’t need an insanely big foward when you already have embiid everyone other than Maxey is about 6’5 or taller. Oubre and pg around 6’7 or 6’8, embiid’s 7foot maybe taller.
2nd year gaurd – Ricky council as the 6th man

  4. Mcbutt is an analyst? Cheerleading for rat city team is not a quality that qualifies as an analyst

  5. Isn't Paul Goerge another Harden on the 76ers? Whats the difference? And Paul George hasn't cooked in the playoffs, but only cause he is always hurt.

  6. Paul George! Kawai Leonard ! Westbrook! Harden! He didn't win anything! Know his going to be better then the Knicks & Celtics 😂..
