over 500 when he was out it really has emerged as a Bonafide All-Star in this league Tyrese Maxi like Paul George and Joe lmb now all paid by mlan and Edwards that time but could not underneath with a similar situation now that’s a great question um I think that’s what going going into free agency that was our thing is trying to put together a group of of players that are experiencing looking at what he did in Cleveland he he did just that with a lot of talented players then he added some some veterans a good play and obviously brought in the star and Don of departments and work with people from scouting to um Player Development um and then this past you with the medical team so um I works his butt off uh and from everything that we heard about and going into the draft process for that um with Thompson I know he had dealt with a little bit of we don’t see him here in summer league as he all said as we move toward training camp in a couple of months so um we think he’ll be ready for training camp and uh you know he’s going to obviously ramp up from now towards then and uh where it works I’m super excited about having him TR you haven’t been on the job long but and you’ve been observing this for your organization so talk a little bit about that well I watched him a lot when he was at Oklahoma State signing the extension he signed recently and he wants to be a leader here uh and take Detroit back environment and culture we’re trying to build that we’re all in this together and and and Kade and and our young guys are committed to doing that as well you saw the numbers there I think growth in his game and being able to increase your scoring average while also I think taking better shots yeah I I’ve talked to him a lot about both knows that he had to take his scoring up but that’s that’s not what his game is based on he still wants to play unselfish basketball get other people involved and and uh you know he’s going to be huge for us bringing that veteran presence and somebody’s been in the league a long time and been in winning programs been part of doesn’t come around every day and of course you know what Yannis Santo has turned himself into because he’s got incredible work out think and he’s added to his game every time I remember seeing and he comes and lights it up Tyler hero I remember his first game here lighting it up and kind of opening my eyes to what summer league and it takes more than the beginning of the Season you check in with uh WBY at the all situations we talked yesterday about Dillingham going to Minnesota I mean it’s it’s rare picking high for a reason and this is going to be a great learning experience and you’re going to get more opportunities in some situations than others Marcus Sasser with four Smith with one can’t convert Holland wearing a blue Devil’s Jersey excepts say fill across the that’s what they did they’re honoring him as their first round pick Clint from the corner shooter it was interesting because the very next pick was dton connect and as philadalphia picked at 16 with connect sitting there at 17 uh and instead he falls at 17 to the Lakers and so as a result I think there’s going to be a lot Vegas Holland the fifth pick in the draft on the float saw the touch on that by the way he can shoot a very soft shot going full speed a very tough finish for Holland floater on the other end McCain good for Jones both team struggling from the perimeter as we detailed here in this game short time ago stopping on a dive about why this pick at that spot cuz they’ve got some other similar eating in their chest from the beginning and that’s what they think Ron Holland represented because he’s surprised that trer langing I thought laid out really well the case for why Ron Holland was the right pick and in this day and age if you don’t get worked out by it obviously three-point shooting they’ll work on he was about 24% but 20 points six boards they’re absolutely going to make you accountable and they’re going to be hard on you when they need to be but how it ended in Cleveland for him I mean they they beat Orlando in a seven game series in the first round Orlando’s a really good upand ability on the part of ronand two more free throws for Ron just a good enough job to make him earn two free throws well he knows down with 10 to shoot it’s off the shot and gets the nice the full 24 seconds and now a turnover and a little Showtime Council finishing it off and the 76ers are going to come away with a win in their Las Vegas summer league debut 94 get the victory for the 76ers and Matt brzy their summer league head coach that was the difference they had the two best offensive
