>There was no one reason. But primarily, it’s that they know where they are in the building process and are quite fine waiting to see how this group plays a bit. To bring in, say, some veteran likely wouldn’t make a huge difference and might actually be counterproductive to what they want to accomplish. There just didn’t seem to be a logical add.
On the Raptors centre depth:
>But, yes, Toronto could use someone behind Jakob Poeltl and, who knows, maybe that’s Chris Boucher — who was in Vegas to work out with the rest of the Raptors for a few days — or maybe they play smallish and figure it out that way.
On the futures of the non core players on the roster:
>Both Brown and Boucher are still marketable assets in the right deal, but no one can guess when that might pop up. There’s certainly no rush. The Raptors and Trent have agreed to go different directions.

Kelly olynyk… why is this still a question

IMO, Plan A was to draft Edey (for the back C position) if he was available. Plan B was to too expensive for the (FA market). Plan C is letting Kelly take on that roll.

If I was to guess, given all the people on the preseason roster, the depth chart goes something like:
Yak, Kelly, Boucher, Carlsen, Chomche.
Koloko was also sitting with the Raptors staff last night, so maybe that means he will get signed when the NBA clears him to play. I think he would immediately go to 3rd in the depth chart, allowing Boucher to play his natural 4 spot, or be used in a trade. I’m am still very high on him and I imagine he has been shooting a lot the last year since more athletic drills were out of the question for a good portion of it.

yuh but like White Koloko (i cant rmr his name) lowkey looked like a dog out there. and not just in SL overhype ways like his hip movement was good, he gets set into position well, his awareness, the shit that ppl tend to carry with them into the league so despite the 2-way i def see him getting some usage at least early on!

It’s obvious we’re not pushing to be good – the young guys will get loads of playing time, come trade deadline we’ll field offers, make moves for the future and do our best to get into the top of the draft

Doug Smith? Yeah I’m not reading that shit

Why didn’t they get active in FA? Cause it’s Toronto so we dont have much pull in FA and we traded for 2 players and drafted 4 players.

Olynyk and mogbo/boucher as the back up pf and center
