I think Carlisle said they had Furphy ranked at about #14 in the draft, and if that's true, they probably would have used the 1st round pick they traded away if they still had it, but they managed to get him anyway in the second round.
They're having incredibly good fortune with late 1st round and second round picks, and they seem to already know what steals they have because they have been giving these 2nd rounders 4-year deals before the season even starts.

The league needs to stop the pacers. Getting nemhard, Kendall brown, furphy, freeman, and newton in the second round is crazy
