[Baraheni] We could do the whole “not the right environment for his game” thing and that’d technically be true but man… Ochai is struggling to get any sort of good looks on offense. Especially for a 3rd year guy.

He has looked very very bad offensively. If he’s continues to be unplayable offensively it will make no difference if his defense is good.
It will also be annoying that we would have traded a first round pick for him.

It is striking how much better Julian Strawther looks compared to Ochai. I know Stawther is a offence first player but he looks in control. Meanwhile Ochai is completely invisible on both ends.
Want it to work for him but it is not looking good. I don’t know who is getting the last starting spot but I don’t think Ochai is making a good case atm.

who cares we already knew this. we need to stop overrating players because of “potential”. rather go by what they show us and he shown to be bad for years now
GuessableSevens
Why does it take til now to realize we shouldn’t be wasting minutes on him? Another tanking team desperate for talent literally traded him in a dump transaction, that’s a pretty big fucking sign he had no future in the NBA.
One of the biggest mistakes rebuilding teams can make is to not move on from guys when it’s clear they have no upside. Let’s see if this front office can learn to not be so attached to players…

He’s a very bad offensive player and his defense is not even close to good enough to mitigate it

His defense wasn’t even good tonight! Ochai was a guy who needed a huge summer to just get to ‘minimally competent’ and he doesn’t look like he’s gotten there, doesn’t look like he’s made any strides at all. Which is not surprising given he was a four-year college player and he’s already 24 years old. Don’t see it at all with him.

Yea he probably wont be a guy in the league. He was a flyer that was worth taking a swing on for a low cost and it didnt work out, it is what it is.
Davion Mitchell is pretty much in the same role now, hopefully he can pan out better

Looks like ochai is the new fan fave this year

Ya’ll hating too early. Yes he’s not that good offensively, but in order to fit with the team he does not need to create his own shot. As long as he can play defense, which he can, and in the offensive end he cuts and knock down some spot up threes he’ll have a role in the team.
cad_internet
He’ll prob get a good chunk of the season to prove himself.
But hasn’t done much to dispel concerns.

Hopefully the Baraheni curse means that Ochai will ball tf out now

The competition will be tight to see who wants to stick around for the BBQ era. I love the athleticism but the clock is ticking.

He looks cooked tbh from the highlights.
