Julian Strawther Full Post Game Press Conference vs. Raptors ๐ŸŽ™ | NBA Summer League

uh obviously I had a I had a good night uh scoring but I’m really disappointed in turning the ball over and especially down the stretch just finding good shots but I mean overall pretty good performance for myself did you feel like that last shot was a good look for you it was a great look uh big shout out to coach mson that was a great call I mean that’s about as good as it gets for a guy to got it going so I just got to make it next time do you feel like you showed a different evolution of your game in this game too yeah uh I feel like just my ability to draw fouls as well just getting down to the cup obviously got to finish by making the free throws but you I mean still just getting there I mean in a normal NBA game guys are going to have to go sit down and and deal with the foul trouble so I’m happy with that that part of my game right now look like you got some minutes at the one there is that something that the organization has talked to you at all about maybe wanting to see you develop in that role I mean yeah I mean obviously we want to see how how I can handle the ball and and initiate some offense at the end of the day I’m not a true point guard and that’ll never be my official position but I mean obviously if I can alleviate guys of some ball handling due days uh initiate some offense and and get guys in spots that’ll help the team seems like you’re pretty unafraid of contact when you get to the rim where has that kind of originated for you uh that’s always been something that I’ve tried and pride myself on it’s just like I like I keep alluding to this weekend I play in my role and whatever role is given to me at Gonzaga I didn’t have that many opportunities to get downhill I was a shooter and and things like that so in in a space like this in an environment like this where I’m able to get downhill and guys are super amped up and playing super hard it it’s good to you know kind of get in there and draw some f so is it to an extent just like experimenting with kind of what types of finishes what types of angles you can try to get at The Rim when you go into that yeah and and the uh and the PD coaches do a good job of just you know trying to expand our finishing bag and just in terms of initiating contact and finding angles so you know big props to them too what is the ankle feeling like for you right now what kind of challenge is that uh I mean I I had rolled it during the uh training camp out in Denver um took a couple days off kind of just rehabed it as much as I could and then came out here obviously I felt good enough to play in these first two games and uh I mean it’s there I’m good a AG being Courtside seems like he was rooting for you a little bit harder in particular what’s it like looking over and seeing him standing on his feet when you make a bucket well I mean it’s beautiful that’s my brother uh just before I came out here to Summer leag I was over at the warehouse getting some shots up and you know just kicking it with him so you know me and him have just been able to you know build a really big uh and strong connection in the past year so I just really appreciate him coming out and supporting me what has he told you about this upcoming season and what it means to you uh I mean he’s just telling me there’s an opportunity and I got to go seize the opportunity um you know some guys in this league don’t get an opportunity so it’s a matter of you know realizing it taking a step back and going attacking it I’m told that you have talked about finding your NBA a pace or the pace that you need to play with here what does that mean for you uh I feel like when I had first got into the league everything was moving a lot faster than I anticipated just because when you watch the game on TV um I mean just like the average fan you think that guys aren’t playing hard and they’re playing hard they’re moving fast and they’re strong and quick and you know it kind of at first it’ll catch you by surprise and it’s easy to get sped up especially by a vet that knows you’re a younger guy and and haven’t experienced much so uh just being able to go through the year and kind of slow my game down not only just physically with speed but also mentally just processing things and being able to see things before they happen a little bit um obviously I’m playing with great vets and guys that see things before they happen really well when do you think that started for you like when did you start to think like I’m getting the pace of this the speed uh for sure after I got hurt uh after I had hurt my knee and uh January I got to sit down and and kind of watch some basketball for a little bit and you know coach Malone would give me task on different nights just watch Jamal tonight I want you to watch everything he’s doing or whether it’s a guy on another team that might have a similar archetype to me just kind of getting getting me to you know think the games how they just play it that point I assume summer league year 2 it feels slower to you it looks that way oh for sure uh it’s a completely different game out there um it’s a completely different mindset and I’m just going out there to kill J jayen said earlier this week uh that that you uh that you’re joking around just constantly like in practice and stuff but but they’re not necessarily sharable jokes I also heard that you have like an almost like dry pessimistic sense of humor which maybe isn’t what people kind of understand when they say just kind of like your personality in general what what do they mean by that uh I think I’m just overly sarcastic person to an extent uh but yeah I’m always coming with the jokes especially you know when you pair me and pton won together we’re kind of a Unstoppable duo with the jokes and and and things like that so yeah I’m I’m always trying to you know get people going and bring the energy I mean you know big fella walk in the locker room he not going to crack a joke I’ll crack a joke

  1. Incidentally this what Murray should be doing as well as continous dynamic stretching.

Paid like a pro gotta be it.
