Josh Christopher Postgame Interview | Miami HEAT vs. Thunder | July 15, 2024
with the team been in the gym with the team what what’s sort of your thought process for a guy first round pick is showing he could be a bucket but just trying to gain a foothold what’s what’s the goal in this moment and what’s been the goal with the heat um just to do what I’m asked and um and just show that I trust them and um just apply the things that they have been teaching me since May and uh that’s the Big Goal just keep getting better and do the things I’m asked how how have they challenged you how do you feel like your game has grown maybe in these few months um really just one just to take ownership and being an animal on defense and taking my shots shooting my three and trusting the work that I’m putting in and uh just being able to play off the ball and I don’t know play into like a whole new role honestly and just you know being one of those like three andd guys honestly what’s the like when you are a bucket we ask alas this also but you know when you come into this league and this situation now they want you like you mentioned saying playing off the ball being a complimentary player how do you turn down what you do so well to turn up being more of a a team player what’s that adjustment like uh you realize that um you aren’t bigger than the NBA once you get there and uh for some people it may take them a little longer to realize that um but you really have to buy all the way in and do what you’re asked and that’s how you kind of create longevity and and um I guess that’s the fun part you know being a part of a team and a a culture per se what was it like thinking two Falls last EAS besides wether I honestly loved it honestly uh when I played with the Utah Jazz before that I was with the g-league team uh we went out there and I had never been to South Dakota and something had me really excited to be in South Dakota I had a great game I had 83s that’s also the game man man had 55 um had 8 tell yeah he was balling but for some reason during that game too just a Side Story story I ended up talking to a lot of the players on sou Falls just randomly like just over the course of the game just real good energy for some reason and then um a couple days later I was in sou fall so I appreciated the time just like almost of isolation and just grind and being with the team and uh just being in a different place I appreciated it and Josh can you talk about the talent level in the g- league as a guy who spent last year in the G league and had some stin also with the Vipers yeah it’s time for a couple expansion teams man come on NBA I know I’m one of the little fish in the sea but come on it’s time for some more teams there’s so much talent uh in the G league and uh honestly it’s the second best league in the world if you ask me so I mean there’s so much talent out there and I’m really serious about these expansion teams we need a couple more so guys get some opportunity but you know you know what I’m saying you just want to stay in Vegas no it’s too hot out here I’m good it’s too hot good oh
