Before yall get mad at Lawrence, remember that PG had all the leverage being a free agent. He had to actually have wanted to go to Denver if this trade was to manifest

  2. MPJ has 3 years left in his contract, he gets 40m in the third year.

Is that even worth dealing with though? Maybe to flip for another asset, but being hamstrung by MPJ’s contract isn’t exactly something to be excited about lol

The clearer books, more depth, and more flexibility is probably better

Broke back porter would come here and never be cleared by the medical staff to play.

This was already known. It was reported before he opted out that there were discussions with Denver, but Denver backed out when the Clippers wanted picks in the deal

And then the Clippers said no. I’d rather give PG the 4 year max.

Id bet the second he joined us he would start missing 40+ games per year like he did pre-championship run

Knowing our luck this is when his back issues would flare up. Hard pass

Didn’t the clippers pass on him in the draft?

This is one thing I’m completely fine with. MPJ is a sharp shooter with inconsistencies. That is it. He is not worth the max and definitely not worth his contract. I get why Denver had to give it to him.

But he’s shown he is incapable of being a true number 2 behind Jokic. He faltered 3 years ago when Murray went down. He faltered this post season when Murray was injured and Gordon was hot/cold.

Add on to the injury risk and the Clippers medical staff, we’d ultimately trade for an albatross of a contract that we wouldn’t be able to get out off, limits any cap flexibility going forward.
