is that a little bit of what happened legs get tired and so grind to catch up with guys I’d say so yeah I don’t know we just came out really flat uh from the start it was flat uh even early on it felt like we weren’t playing well and I looked up and it was still a close game I don’t know how but this just what it what it felt like as far as like the game Flow and everything so do you think the physicality that detroy played with especially Mar so in the second half kind of like affected the way you guys have been going through your offense I I think so I think it was phys C they did a really good job like icing or Downing the screens but they even did it when it was not even just on the sidelines but more in the center of the court and I thought that kind of bothered us a little bit I didn’t think we did a good job um attacking that so this game kind of felt like the most maybe defensive pressure that Reed was under through his first three games how do you think he responded to it you know over the course of the game um I Thought He adjusted it but it’s not just him it’s it’s everyone I I would say like the pick and rolls there’s just like we just didn’t seem as connected this game would say that is that something that guys have to learn how to deal with when things aren’t working how do you respond how do you adjust to the situation I mean yeah I’d say so like just to me that’s basketball like the teams are they’re obviously the other team is trying to make stop you from doing something you got to make adjustments when that happens so you’re going to see pressure you’re going to see different coverages and we just got to uh figure out how to adjust and move on there you were able to spend a couple years there in Boston what it like seeing you know change J some of those guys who worked with their with that Championship this year um and kind of break through you know Happ working with them there um I’m I’m super happy for them it’s cool especially just seeing them on their Journey um from where they were I was with them when we lost the finals that first year um and that was tough and then the year before made all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals before Jason rolled his ankle literally the first play so feel like just the ups and downs of everything and seeing everything they went through and then to see them have success I’m really happy them it’s really cool what’s the kind of you saw in them this you know run maybe compared to when you started working with them doing that first final um they just seem more poised I would say I seen pois and they seem like i’ like been there done that attitude and they’re ready so was there anything in maybe the shot selection for cam Reed tonight that you thought was a little bothersome or you talking to a lot of dead legs I’ll say as a combination of dead legs I also thought the ball didn’t move as well as it did the other games uh a lot of something that I was harping on was if the ball comes from one side of the Court move it to the other side and play a second action get to a third action a lot of times when the ball was being swung to the other side it was driven right back to where it came from to a crowded side so I’d like to see us play in more space and play more together so your G guys especially Nate Williams have produced fairly well here for a few years what does it take for a guy like that to break through to the next level I don’t know there there’s a lot of guys like Nate that are talented that deserve a shot and that are working and we just got to keep working hopefully their time comes so I think a lot of it is just situations roster situations team situations but he’s talented he works really hard and go break through some point coach what this experience been like for you to be in charge of the Sumer League team to get to know these guys and get to kind of call the shots here for a little bit it’s been really fun uh it’s been really fun it’s there’s a difference like being an assistant a lot of times you’re thinking of like what’s happening or like like what happened and why um but in this role as a head coach I feel like a lot of times you’re watching the game and you’re assessing like what’s next like what’s going to happen next like what do I have to do to affect something that’s going to happen um whereas a lot of times as an assistant you’re being asked like your opinion on a lot of things of like why why something happened or what hurt us so um it’s different it’s fun to look at the game in this lens and I think it’ll help me be a better assistant for emay uh during the regular season when you like the last 3 to 4 years for you you know kind of the growth you’ve had since becoming an NBA assistant you know where do you feel like you kind of come PR this and what this opportunity means to you this summmer uh I think it’s cool like I said like having this opportunity having a different perspective I think it’ll make me a better assistant um now I’m kind of seeing uh what e is thinking what he’s going through the stuff that he’s the decisions he has to kind of make on the Fly um and I feel like it’ll it’ll help me Aid him in some of that decision making there lot of talented centers on your boster what’s the competition like between them excuse me say that again there’s a lot of talented centers on your roster what’s the competition like between them and practices and how does that carry over in games I mean I look forward to the practice we haven’t had them yet so it’s kind of hard to say right now but I like competition I like uh guys having to earn their minutes and to work for it and to prove it um cuz I think that’ll only make us better as a team like during the regular season so anytime you can have that uh competition and a confrontation it’ll be fun so I’m looking forward to training camp looking forward to the season I’m looking forward to practice so lastly how would you describe um if Dante’s play tonight um I thought he I thought he was solid um I liked we went Zone which is something we hadn’t done before um and I like him in the zone I like his length I like his athleticism like uh protecting the ram he’s a presence in there so that hopefully that carries over the next game thank you
