right miles congratulations on the new deal obviously it just happened um reports around the deadline said that you wanted to be in Charlotte and here you are um you doubled down on that by resigning what made you want to come back to Charlotte Hornets uh it’s like a family to me you know I’ve been here for the last six seven years um and with the new management in I see the vision so I just want to be a part of that when we’re able to you know push for the playoffs um and turn into a WI a winning culture how did you you find out that you agreed to a New Deal what your agent tell you what was what was that like uh he just asking me if I wanted to do this or that and I said I wanted to go to Charlotte um so so that’s what it was um and I’m happy I made that decision aside from you being here your whole career um What attracted you back to this organization yeah like I said with all the new faces in um I I can see the vision I can see what’s going on um they obviously no basketball it’s not the same as it has been before no knock on anybody else but I I see the vision so I I want to be a part of that how do you see the organization changing under Jeff and Charles uh I feel like it’s a lot more energy you know and they’re they’re holding us accountable more and that’s what we need um so as long as we we stick to the plan I feel like we’re going to be good obviously you’re familiar with the young core lamelo you Brandon Mark um did you take a step back during this process and look at that group again and just say that you know there’s there’s strong potential there and I want to be part of that yeah yeah for sure I mean the only thing that’s that’s holding us back is just injuries I feel like if we if everybody is not injured um everybody’s playing there’s nothing stopping us from making the playoffs um so that’s what I want to do everyone that’s been around knows that you’ve been that vocal leader on the court for this team even you know you might have taken that on early on um but when you look at these guys that they brought in with players like Grant Taj proven bets in this league um and then adding in your leadership again like how do you see those players maybe dictating how this team is going forward holding people accountable and just making sure everything’s going as planned yeah I mean uh with Grant tods they they come from winning programs um so they’re going to bring that to this team I’ve been I’ve been vocal for like three four years now um so it’s nothing new to me I I just feel like if we all hold each other accountable then there’s no way we could fail um and I think Grant Tod they’re they’re going to do a a great job in the locker room for us what are your goals for this season this upcoming season both personally and on a team level uh just to win um and get better every day my my personal goal is just to get better every day but with the team is just just to win do anything to win um that’s my mindset throughout the whole season um I’m going to stand on that how good can this team be Charlotte horns as good as we want to be you know like I said if we if we stick to the plan we we hold every CH everybody accountable we’ll be good um like I said stay away from injuries I know it’s easier said than done but I’m just excited I’m just excited just to have everybody back last one you’ve been in the Le League over 5 years now how can you say you’ve evolved as a player uh the game just slowed all the way down for me you know I feel like after my third year um things start getting easier for me um I start getting more vocal in the locker room talking more um I feel like those are the only things that you I got better at but I want to continue to get better at everything else you have anything else you like to add uh no I’m just like I said I’m just happy to be back um and go Hornets thank you so much yeah [Applause]
