the Raptors were absolutely robbed clutch sports did Gary Trent Jr very dirty with this one as messir expressed interest in bringing back Gary Tren Jor earlier in the off season but the asks from Gary’s Camp were just absolutely ludicrous so the Raptors moved forward picked up Gary Temple filled out their roster and said hey we’re done with Gary we’ll move we’ll part way we’ve covered this in recent videos we knew Gary Trent Jr was leaving and reports have come out if you’ve been following the Raptor dig just you following Raptor news again make sure you subscribe to Raptor that just so you don’t miss a single thing this off season you know the Raptors did make an offer to Gary Trent Jr at about $15 million and even though there’s a bunch of people kind of upset they were kind of done with the star boy Gary Trent Jr due to his inconsistent play I think a lot of people viewed Gary Tren Jr on a $15 million contract even with the glut we have at the shooting guard position everything that’s going on as a pretty reasonable return to bring back Gary Trent Jr I mean a guy statistically is good at basketball 14 points per game only 25 years old right 1.7 assist shoots 40% from the three-point line you know pretty consistent from the corners in all different areas we know Gary Trent Jr is good at basketball he’s a quality basketball player but the negotiation strategy the stuff from Rich Paul absolutely had this Market dried up completely after the Raptors kind of let part ways and stuff Yuri Tren J didn’t have a lot of options anywhere to go now there was expectations he’d sign a mid level exception which is about $12 million here and again some people that wanted Gary Tren Jr gone just said hey given all the shooting guards we have we don’t want Gary back on the roster we don’t all want all this stuff but we had an absolute bomb just us just then as news came out that the Milwaukee Bucks are signing Gary Trent Jr to a oneyear contract Rich Paul and Lucas Newton of clutch Sports tell ESPN he reunites with Damen Lillard joins a bucks organization have recruited him hard with a Chase title with them so again on the you look at that it’s like oh how are the Raptors robbed we knew he was gone he went to a contender redeem his value a little bit a one-year contract well news has essentially come out that this is a minimum contract so Gary Trent Jr went from asking had the boldness had the audacity to come to the Toronto Raptors at the start of the off season and say Hey I want to raise on my contract cuz he was making roughly $17 million per year last year I want a raise I want 25 20 to $25 million range for my upcoming contract to stay with the Toronto Raptors to come back with this team and uh you know grow and develop in this rebuilding situation again that was ludicrous that was bananas that was just absolute that wasn’t going to happen so the Raptors came back 15 million you know that’s pretty cool that’s pretty uh good with what’s happening then you know they turned that down negotiation stall M jer’s done with these crazy ludicrous asking prices I mean clutch ports they have done some of their players dirty if you look back to the newans Noels of the world you know there’s been some complaints about rich Paul clein not getting the representation that they really need and Gary Trent Jr regardless of if you wanted him back you didn’t want him back you know if he was going to go to a team you know and Rehab his value so he’s going to be making that $25 million per year salary future yada yada y he turned down for a guy you know it’s not making backx money ludicrous deals ludicrous bread he turned down a guaranteed $15 million to go play for the Milwaukee Bucks where I’m not 100% sold he’s going to be getting a ton of minutes over there anyways in that competing sit he’ll probably be starting off the season as a starter like we can look at the roster and stuff that’s going in there but he went to the Milwaukee Bucks for basically what one two couple million dollars a league minimum contract so roughly gave about $3 million up off the table to go to the Milwaukee Bucks rather than signing that deal and requesting a trade halfway the season he could have done something like that you know stay with the Toronto Raptors and stuff that is crazy that is crazy that this is the deal that Gary Trent Jr ended up signing and I get it I understand I’m a Gary Trent Jr fan I don’t think his stat I think his stats are over criticized over discussed in terms of how bad of a basketball player he is he’s a pretty solid Defender he does a lot of good stuff out there on the basketball court I mean 14 points he averaged like 177 18 points per game last season as a shooter that never complained wasn’t a head case in the locker room it wasn’t like he was out there you know chewing out players in this Raptor team last season in terms of what’s going on like Gary Trent Jr for minimum to let him go on a minimum contract to make the decisions that we made and yes I am very happy with Garett temple being back in the organization being a dude that we can have just in this sort of team in this organiz be a veteran for a younger roster I like Garrett Temple he’s a good guy but he’s getting paid the same amount for a dude that’s not going to play any meaningful minutes really next season for the Toronto Raptors as a Gary Trent Jr who is a borderline starter one of the more Elite Shooters even with his inconsistencies in the NBA again I’m not saying the Toronto Raptors fumbled this by any stretch of the imagination I’m blaming Gary Trent Jr’s agent blaming Rich Paul on just a horrific negotiation strategy horrific communication with this Raptor team because I guarantee you I don’t care what other prospects we have I don’t care about the other players on the group I don’t care that Bruce Brown’s on the team RJ Barrett’s on the team that JFL DJ carton they might be averaging 100 points in summer league and messiou Jerry knew that he could get Gary Trier forget for a minimum for under 10 million he he’d carve out the roster he’d make some adjustments he’s turned out Bruce Brown’s player sort of or team option whatever the heck to go on there to bring Gary Trent Jr back on that reable of a contract there’s just no other way that he wouldn’t that is an absolute steal that is for the level of shooter for the flashes of Brilliance he’s shown on the defensive end because the hate that he got on that end of the floor is just stupid you know cuz there’s given nights where Gary Trent Jr can lock in can get a ton of steals can get a ton of deflections can do a lot of stuff out there so to let him walk and see him get what 1.2 the specific figure I don’t know what the league minimum actual value is but $1 to2 million for next season what a a tenth under between a tenth and and a fifth of what how happen how did that happen that that’s just something that baffles me you know breaking this down maybe more details will be revealed on the situation but a lot of the negotiation period between the Raptors and clutch sports for Gary Tren Jr’s representation has come out but for some reason they thought that him going to the Milwaukee Bucks giving up all of that bread all of that money and just betting on you know them winning a championship and is value increasing out there on the open market I don’t know what it is like I get the strategy but the Bucks have a pat conon they just drafted a shooting guard in AJ Lawson they have you know Chris Middleton who runs the shooting guard for that spot too but I imagine Chris Milton be put at the three again the Bucks aren’t the most deep team on planet Earth but uh even Bo Camp who is uh on their summer league team he’s going to be a guy that’s going to be on that roster vying for some minutes it’s not like the Bucks have no one there at that shooting guard spot that’s going to compete for minutes compete for stuff with uh with Gary triner I mean this is a bold strategy this is a a crazy sort of development in terms of what the Raptors did and we knew he was gone I’m not beating myself beating Messi I don’t think it’s messiah’s fault I think Rich Paul is just really bad with his you know lower tier players you know in the middle class it’s not there in the NBA anymore there’s a few articles written on that but he’s done this before with nurin Stell he’s done it before with other sort of clutch Sports clients these guys are just getting finessed if you’re not the LeBron James the John Walls the Ben Simmons you know the players that when their Max contract extensions came up you know they were basically going to get that Max money anyways I guess ogn and Obi got some bread so they negotiated that one well but I don’t know the fact that uh clutch Sports fumbled this one that bad for Gary Trent Jr should be studied it’s embarrassing so I don’t know it it’s crazy to me let me know what you guys think 25 million is for a 5 tool sg, that can attack the rim for dunks/lobs easily, defends the midrange/top of the key with body, shoots 3's off all situations, can protect the ball with the dribble/passing, can be a offball defender that creates deflections, Gary got so caught up in trying to get dunk highlights that his game slipped a full notch including how he never adapted by mastering the paint layups and floaters that he needed.
No suprise here on the minimum. To be fair, it was clarified the 15 mil was never actually offered to him by the Raptors. Walter will be a better player than GTJ, getting him minutes and Dick minutes is way better for the team. This was over due, thought he'd go to the Lakers on minimum becasue Clutch is shady like that, but the taxes in Cali are riduclous and so is teh cost of living compared to Wisconsin.

The second Raptors player who gambled and lost. Wish him the best but glad he’s gone. He didn’t develop or get any better in 3.5 years. Raptors moved on at the draft. They didn’t even want him on the minimum.
