Hey guys,
Spent a while tonight looking at the trade market and this was the only move I could figure out that sorts out the Pelicans Center rotation.
This move keeps the Pelicans out of the tax, the Lakers below the 2nd apron and could be complete tomorrow.
Why each team does this:
Pelicans:
Hard to find an Ingram return in the current market. In this scenario the Pels use the assets they net for Ingram to deepen their front court and balance out the roster. Kessler gives the Jazz an elite rim protector on a rookie deal for the next two years while Collins provides NOLA a pseudo 5-out option. Vando’s a great tradable contract who restocks the wing room with BI’s departure as well.
The Pelicans would run into tax issues next year with TMIII’s extension but both CJ and Collins would be expiring and they could hopefully be replaced via the draft.
Lakers:
Star quality coming in. The Lakers are one of the few teams in the league that I can see maxing Ingram considering LeBron’s age. In the regular season he can take a ton of playmaking load and we’ve seen in previous seasons that he’s capable of spacing off ball. Just a little reluctant.
One of the few guys with all-star talent that the Lakers can bring in with their assets. To me he’s a great buy-low option.
Jazz:
This move nets the Jazz some potentially valuable picks and ensures that even if they keep Lauri this year they’d be bad enough to be a downright awful team in the West. The departure of Kessler opens up minutes for Flip while Hendricks could see more game time with Collins moved to a new destination.
Let me know what you guys think!

Yeah. Lakers aren’t spending two first round picks to trade for Ingram back.
Not only is Ingram’s value poor because of FIBA and the playoffs, he’s also straight up killing deals because his agent is explicitly telling teams that he expects a max extension.
I want the pelicans to trade him but I expect they will not find anyone willing to take him.
Lakers won’t do it. Giving up wayyy too much for BI.
