Summer League stats don’t matter much to me. There’s tons of players who show out in SL and don’t amount to anything.
What matters is how comfortable he looks out there, and he passes with flying colors. He clearly looks like he’s better than the current competition at SL. He has all the tools in his bag, including the intangibles.
Donovan gonna love this kid with the way he loves to run on the break. The kid is fast af.

Worth noting: Everyone is reporting it incorrectly. Buzelis had 20 points, not 18. He missed a layup that the Pistons accidentally knocked back in. By rule, Buzelis gets the basket. He finished with 20 points and 4 blocks.

Keep him healthy and get him on a good training program, Bulls.

Most impressed by his recovery defense in this game, couple times he was beaten off the dribble by a guard and he got back into position to use his size and block them. It’s a complete meme but he really does have that dawg in him and doesn’t quit on plays / takes everything out there personally.

His poise on the court shows how valuable the year in the G-League playing with pros was for him. He doesn’t look like a rookie at all against these guys and it’s clear he has the tools to not only be an all-star, but a superstar.
I think 2024 redrafts will be interesting in the future. To me, Reed Sheppard was a no brainer number 1 and Buzelis shouldn’t have fallen past 3 or 4. We got REALLY lucky here, guys.

Give this rookie some minutes in the regular season so he can start to develop and he will be a starter He seems to have the tools to make it, that year in the g league must have prepared him for the NBA, so glad the bulls drafted him.

Now imagine him 20 lbs more muscular.
OMFG.

Just tempering expectations here.
