The Raptors Made A Mistake With Gary Trent Jr…

The Gary Trent Jr. era in Toronto is officially over as the player has left the Raptors in free agency and has signed a 1-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks. This gives Jacob Gramegna of Amateur Hour Sports to revisit the trade that brought the shooting guard to the team three and a half years ago to determine if it was really worth trading Norman Powell over.

  1. Should've paid him imo. What he asked. At least not rescinded the deal they offered him when he was willing to take it.

Having said that, i agree that the deal that we made in order to get Gary was unnecessary.

  2. $15 million is good for a one-dimesional streaky shooting specialist. It's not the front office's fault that GTJ wanted $25 million. That being said, in hindsight, they never should have traded Powell for GTJ, considering the fact that Powell received a similar pay and is much efficient than GTJ. At least Powell can finish at the rim to save his life when his shot isn't falling. Same can't be said for GTJ.

  3. Well, Gary, gone sad we couldn't use him for any assets during the trade deadline but new future, and we are back to winning in the 6ix soon 😉 ❤ (BTW, I like ur new set up) 🔥 🔥 🔥

  4. Please explain how the raptors made a mistake we finally did what we should have done last season got rid of a useless one way player who can only make a three if he's wide open …. we have dick we have jakobe both in which are talented and combine less then he was making … we offered him a multi year 15 mil contract he shot it down thst was the raptors offering him a higher value then he's worth it's his fault he turned them down and got greedy and now look league min player 😂 he's the new dennis

  5. Sam thing going to happen with the pascal trade don't want to pay him but going young saying he can't play with young team, and pascal prove them wrong lead the pacers to ECF, and yes he did go check for yourself, raptors too cheep, betting on your players hoping they can become

  6. Huh? What mistake?…..We offered him 15mil, he turned us down and now he has to accept the league minimum because there's no offer out there for him. What mistake are you talking about? Sounds more like him and Rich Paul are dumbasses…….

  7. 1:25 well… I don't believe that to be true. this was a gamble that did not pay off. looking at how Norman commented about his time in Toronto, maybe he was on his way out anyway so kinda mute talking bout the trade. Norman most def better player but his value was also a second round pick, maybe 2.
