There's definitely a chance Reed takes minutes from Jalen. Holiday took minutes from Jalen last year. If Holiday did, Reed probably will too. And if Reed is the best option to start at 2, I trust Ime to make the call.
I mean, if Aaron can finish games over Jalen, Reed can start over Jalen.

I agree with you guys, I'm trying to temper my excitement after watching Reed. gotta give Stone some credit. looks like he made another good pick from the draft, especially in a year the talent pool was thought to be subpar. watching Reed I have already started fantasizing about his fit with our roster. it appears Reed is a custom made fit to address what we were weakest at. I also agree guys the defense does need work, but I don't think its so bad it will keep him off the floor. I know this is high expectation, but I see Chris Paul with a 3pt shot. he will need time for his body to finish maturing but that's his ceiling IMO. as these young players mature on our roster some hard choices are ahead. unlike Stone I don't believe we will be able to keep them all. there is simply to much high end talent and we can't pay everybody. the battle for playing time will be epic which will fuel our rise in the western conference. I can't wait for the season

I’ve been saying for a while Cam is Jalen Greens replacement if the Rockets decide to move in another direction.
the correct comp for Reed is Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf
two biggest issues that could limit rockets ceiling. 1) Reed point of attack defense will require good help defense at the rim, Sengun won't provide that. and 2) playing Jalen, Sengun, and Amen together is still not enough shooting, even with Reed. I think a team can have a good offense with 2 non-shooters simultaneously, but not 3. Jalen will have to improve his 3 ball or we trade him or play him as a 6th man.
Only one ball. Sengun is not a threat off-ball, and JG struggles off-ball.. Reed is looking like the real deal.. The question is who are you putting the ball in the hands of? On offense, sometimes too much versatility is a negative, too many playmakers but no catch and shoot 3 and d guys. It was a reason why Harden era rockets won a lot of games… everybody was specialized at their position, it wasn’t to much overlap.. Sengun needs the ball to be effective and JG needs the ball to be effective.

Tried to tell ya'll pre draft that Reed could handle the ball and was a really good passer. Had to turn that pre draft live stream off due to the gross mischaracterization of the Tax Man. Glad RCS is finally coming to their senses.

Don’t talk trades of existing base…..this is D-Day…for this crew …with chance to take us to a new level.
We now have some depth that can play…with more scoring , better defense. And just maturing!
And the Vets also have to prove themselves worthy of an extension or trade….and a Coach pulling the strings/ executing!
Still unknowns…but trading for a star….is problematic at this stage unless you are giving up on a player!
Wait till the trade deadline before you pull the trigger. …see what progress has been made!

Your guys on the bubble or ‘time to take next steps’…are Jalen, Sengun, Jabari
with Amen, Cam, and Reed ..on the way up ! Playing time, consistency….and willing to play defense!
With Adam’s, , VanFleet, and Dillon…..Vet’s with maturity and no excuses…pretty good mix!
But we are in league of bigs …so who is going to guard Jokic, Wemby, Davis, Embid, Bam, Rudy….do we have that stopper??
Adam’s could surprise and fill the middle while the others do their thing!
Or can someone fill the void….Jabari and Amen and Reed can play a couple of positions for flexibility or going small.
Time will tell….but I think they deserve this year to get over the hump!
For the time being we are 10 deep. It could help keep us injury free with fresh legs. This leads to high consistency and high availability. I've never seen an NBA team built this way – hard to predict the outcome. If Udoka can manage it correctly I predict 50 wins. I was high on Sheppard but he has exceeded my expectations.

I think we would have won 48 games last season if Al P and Tari were healthy. I think they're worth that 7 game swing. So I don't see why we can't win 50. Especially with a motivated JG
