Isaiah Hartenstein REVEALS Real Reason He Joined OKC… | Knicks News

The New York Knicks have had one of the best offseasons of any team in the NBA! They have also had success re-signing their current players to keep the core we have intact. Unfortunately for NY, one player they couldn’t retain was Isaiah Hartenstein. Hartenstein chose to join Oklahoma City Thunder after they made him a substantial 3 year, 87 Million dollar contract, with 58+ million in guaranteed money on the table. Recently, Hartenstein sat down with NY Post Journalist Steph Bondy to discuss the real reason he joined OKC, who was in the meeting to retain him and what it would have taken to stay with the Knicks… Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down!

  1. It was for the money, and I have no issue with Ihart. It's time for us to move on and find another center.

  2. I'm not sure why this is still being talked about. He's gone. It's over. It's time to move on.

  3. HE WONT GET THE ENDORSEMENT THAT BRUNSON WOULD GET. THAT WILL HELP BRUNSON WITH TAXES AND LOST WAGES. HART WILL LOSE MORE STAYING IN NY JUST IN TAXES ALONE. HE MADE THE SMART MOVE

  4. iHart dumb NYc will always get u money longterm he would of nade dat money+ Dolan is a cash cow off the court w/ opportunities

  5. If he stayed in NY he would be a G-d. either way he would have more $ then he could ever spend. I guess The Mecca Isn’t meant for everyone

  6. I hart sounding like he wanna double back 💯 he had to secure the bag, just got married..just had a child…life is coming at him fast. An extra 17 million alone makes sure his child will be alright for the rest of their life..any parent would do the same. I ain't mad at that… I just wish the boy would've held it down with us.much success to him. Once a knick….🟠🔵🗽💯

  7. They only guarantee him 58 at 2 years but New York was offering 72 for 4 years? I'm willing to bet he's off that team in 2 years they're not giving him that 3rd.

  8. OKC did nothing special last year they were eliminated before us . The West is a tough conference there are no guarantees over there. Memphis is coming, NOLA got better, Houston is coming.

  9. As a Knicks fan, I don't accept Hart's claim that he had no choice. If Jalen can take a pay cut to stay where he wanted, Hart could have done the same thing. But he chose not to do so, just for a few extra bucks because the Knicks did offer him a good deal of money. But because he chose not to make the same kind of sacrifice Jalen did, it would be very significantly ironic if the Knicks take the championship in 2025 or come real close, and OKC doesn't go far. Sacrifice always pays off, and I applaud JB for making the sacrifice for the team, when he too could have left easily for more money.

  10. Ahhh, I'm calling it "Bullshyt!" This guy wasn't taking a discount. If that was the case, he would have resigned BEFORE free agency. He wanted to get paid, and his agent wanted him to get paid, and obviously, that pretty wife of his wanted him to get paid, and that's OKC with me. Time to move on from IHart and leave the past behind. Hoping that I wake up from my dream and Jalen Duren is back with the Knicks. So, IHart, I O-K-C U L8R Bro.

  11. I think he is full of malarkey. The Knicks money would have also set him up for life. He left for the most money with winning being a secondary reason. Good luck there in the earthquake capital of the world.
