Kerr knows it’s in the bag anyways and just playing the super stars since it’s their last dance. If he wanted to play the best team AD and Tatum would start over Bron and Embiid. AD is way better without the ball and help defender and Tatum has been a better first option in all the exhibition games. Steph probably shouldn’t start either but this is the golden age team not a dream team competitor

We want Ant to win the gold, gain this experience and learn from it. What Ant is experiencing will only make him better. It really doesn’t matter if he starts, or comes off the bench, the goal is winning gold and learning things to bring to the Wolves.

I think Kerr is just experimenting, but I’ve always found it strange that he felt the need to explain to Ant last year why GS didn’t want to draft him even thought Ant wasn’t available to him. GS wanted Wiseman over Ant – maybe GS’s evaluation was just flawed from the beginning.

Putting the arenas comments aside, here’s the question I’ve always had: is Kerr even that great of a coach? Probably above average, but would he be considered “great” if it weren’t for the dynasty of peak splash bros, peak draymond, a front office that identified talent and spent like none other, a few years of KD, and great role player talent? How much of that was really Steve Kerr? Is he really our best coaching option for team USA?
I’ve never been a huge Kerr fan. I think he’s a good, but not great guy who was carried by generational talent—just like his days with the bulls.

This is so dumb. Ant was the leading player for USA last year after Kerr initially thought he would be the 6th man. If Kerr really had an agenda, Ant would’ve stayed on the bench
