  1. With all of those scenarios… No one will actually know if Jalen did it for his teammates or himself… Unless Jalen speak out.

  2. Nick is a moron. it is unprecedented when an employee takes a severe decrease in pay for the employer. doesn't matter what the price is. Who exactly takes a 30% discount on what they could earn. Nick is amazing as a hot take clown.

  3. Bruh, the F fin exception DOES NOT make the rule!! Hedging?? It’s more like HATING on your part!!!😒😒… Brunson for mayor 😤😤… 😂🤣😂

  4. There is no worst outcome. The Knicks would have given him money regardless of an injury this year. He’s proven it for 2 years straight he’s worth the money. Your delusional if you think he doesn’t get paid next year if he doesn’t jump on the deal now lol

  5. That Tim Brady taking “less” never takes into account his wife making $40 mill/year during the time he took less.

  6. Nick, However you want or look at it, Brunson took less for 3 years and the knicks will use that extra cap room for good things including staying under 2nd apron.

  7. This is just trying to find something to say! His intention was to help the team that’s it. These dudes thirst for content and wanting to have a hot take is ridiculous.

  8. Its easy… had he not signed the deal the worst possible outcome wouldve been Thomas with the Celtics… still, the chance for that is way, WAY lower then Brunson having another good (maybe not as good but still All NBA Level) season and with a healthy core reaching the ECF. One has maybe a 5% chance, the other one a 30%-40% chance.

So Yes, he took the savest option possible. No question. But waiting one year and keeping every opportunity open wouldve still been very save and way better for him. So one other reason was clearly to send a message. Not only to his teammates (who already know what a high level character guy he is), but to the entire league. I think some really good buyout players will be interested in playing for the Knicks (this Feb… maybe a good backup Big), as well as free agents who might sign for less money then they are worth (come next summer). Cause one way or another, this team will get expensive and will be over the 2nd Apron in a couple of seasons. So he thinks ahead to build a winning culture that will attract free agents, not only now, but for the forseable future. Something the Knicks didnt have for ages!

  9. Dude is saying a whole lot of nothing…..JB could have bet on himself and and sign5/270 next year. He didn’t . Simple. Must you find something wrong with everything???

  10. Finally a national media member who has the right take on this. Brunson has also said multiple times in past interviews he doesn't like risking contract years
