>They have draft picks like 19-year-old Ja’Kobe Walter, 22-year-old Jonathan Mogbo, 21-year-old Jamal Shead and 18-year-old Ulrich Chomche to groom.
>The last time Toronto had someone as raw was Bruno Caboclo about 10 years ago. But the Raptors let Caboclo wither because they didn’t have the experience in grooming raw talent and they didn’t have their own G League affiliate where they could groom him.
Douggie has to know that’s a poor choice in words in this day and age lol. Develop is probably the word he was looking for.
Also, Carlsen has been very impressive so far during the Summer League, I’m surprised nothing talked about for him. Maybe he’s too old to “groom” at 25?

The future is in the 2025 draft class. It’s suppose to be great. Even if you don’t get flagg there is crazy talent near the top. Ace bailey looks like a bonafide star. We gotta play the young guys as much as possible so we can lose lose lose.

Sometimes I wonders what medias are expecting with late picks.
Banton at 45 is arguably a better than average outcome at this point in the draft even if that player does not move the needle.
Koloko for medical issue. He still had potential .
Jalen Harris and Johnson are late 2nd rounder
The only real miss is arguably Malachi Flynn. But again it was a late 1st pick.
Toronto never really missed with a top pick. They nailed the Barnes pick in 2021.
“They missed with the likes of Malachi Flynn, David Johnson, Jalen Harris, Delano Banton — until he got to his third NBA stop with Portland — and Christian Koloko, when his career was stalled with medical issues. None had a major impact in Toronto.”

Koloko has been cleared and we should be looking to sign him back. We had eyes on Zack Ebey until he shot up the draft board, but imagine a lineup of Zack Ebdy, SB, RJ, IQ and all we need to do is to grade Poetle for an PF then we are pretty set for the next few years.
