[Buha] Barring a notable trade and/or signing, Knecht projects to be in the top nine of the Lakers rotation next season.

That could be his floor, especially if he improves defensively. He has a chance to grow into being a devastating off-ball weapon around LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Redick, one of the best shooters off screens in the NBA during his playing days, has side conversations with Knecht daily. The new Lakers coach often imparts wisdom to Knecht regarding how to create space with his body against defenders, how to navigate screens and how to operate within space.

Relying on a rookie is a recipe for disaster.

Our defense is going to be really rough to watch next season.

This is moreso news about Christie, no?

Lebron, AD, dlo, reaves, vando, rui, vincent, one of wood/hayes, knecht

So he’s beaten Christie, g league bronny and Lewis, injured JHS, cam and one of wood/hayes.

  3. Good. The youth movement needs to start this year. Start laying the foundation for the next era.

I don’t know why you quoted the most non-news detail out of this article. Of course he’s top 9 on the roster, especially when you look at 10-15.

    >The Lakers are trying to strike the proper balance with Knecht, who will play primarily without the ball in his hands on the main roster.

Probably the more notable piece from this article, but again, I don’t know why you would quote Buha stating the obvious that he’s in the top 9.

Curious to know if they put Vando back in the starting lineup over Rui. That Reaves/D’Lo/Lebron/Rui/AD lineup *was* working in the regular season, but I definitely want to see more of where we left off from 2023 and have Rui be that scoring punch off the bench

Knecht is competing with Max and Cam for backup minutes. He’s probably going to have to slot in more as a SG than SF the way the roster is built. Need more POA defense on opposing guards.

Vando Rui Lebron Wood all fit in as 3/4 while the 2 minutes are Reaves Max Cam. Could also get a bit weird if there are Gabe DLO lineups with DLO as the 2.

I mean 1) duh and 2) semantics. Top 9 vs top 10 is sort of meaningless.

We’ll see Max/Dalton in the backup 2/3 roles, likely interchangeably. Gabe the backup 1, vando or Rui the backup 4, and I’d bet money Hayes is the backup 5. That’s 10 deep with Cam and Wood on the outside looking in. Lewis, JHS, and Bronny looking at the G League.

I’d bet we see changes too that clear up some of this, but as of rn that’s the clear rotation imo

If he’s top 9 that means playoff rotation.

So he’s either ahead of Max, or he’s ahead of both of our backup centers

  9. I want Knecht and Max Christie to be bombing threes off the bench next year. JJ will be looking for that.

Ima be honest. I want the man in the top 7. SPEAK IT INTO EXISTENCE

  11. Not like they have many other options barring any further moves

  12. SpaceCadet6666

Nope it’s Dlo Austin Vando Bron AD, Rui, Gabe, Wood, Max.

  13. Ok_Concentrate_75

Please keep him FO, unless we getting like Embiid don’t trade DK

AD/Rui/Bron/AR/Dlo are locks to be starters

Hayes/Max/Gabe/Vando are locks to be in rotation as well

Dalton will most likely get spot minutes as a 8th/ 9th man and maybe could break into the main rotation once the season progresses. Dalton once he gets used to NBA speed and gets confidence more developed he’s going to be a problem in the league I would be shocked otherwise. I don’t know if he’s a star or anything but at worst I do think his career is Jordan Clarkson like where he’s an elite bench player and an instant offense kind of guy but he’s a way better shooter than Clarkson.

  15. Thats good, should have started with Max last year but progress finally.

    Russell/Vincent

    Reaves/Christie

    Vanderbilt/Knecht

    James/Hachimura

    Davis/Hayes

    At least imo

We will see an AR Max Knecht Bron AD lineup at some point. Doesn’t have to be starting but I want to see how that looks.
