2024 NBA Summer League is underway and some of the biggest names amongst young players have been showing out. Top two picks Alex Sarr and Zaccharie Risacher dueled and have left differing impressions, Reed Sheppard has balled out for the Houston Rockets as perhaps the most impressive player in the entire draft class so far, others like Stephon Castle for the San Antonio Spurs, Cody Williams for the Utah Jazz, Kel’el Ware for the Miami Heat, Bub Carrington for the Washington Wizards, and Donovan Clingan for the Portland Trailblazers have also all had shining moments in one way or another. So, let’s go ahead and overreact to summer league.

Zach Edey
Castle has showed some lead guard skills. He’s not jump out of the gym athletic, but he moves really well and looks like an NBA guard out of the box. Plays with great pace and a solid handle to build on. His shot is patchy but the core mechanics look sound and he seems capable of developing a well-rounded offensive game.
I agree, zacc is a 2 year project, the hawks need to develop him in the same manner they did JJ, slowly and spend time in CP

Reed has been amazing on the offensive end but defensively not so much
Thoughts on Josh Christopher going off for 20 in the 4th. Is that enough to get him back in the league? Also, any chance to see Riley Minix lead the Spurs in scoring? He was a super useful, all-around player at the mid major level.

Sarr is absolutely a regular man, been watching him since NBL, he doesn’t have something special like the other prospects playing in NBL like giddey or lamelo

I mean Zaccharie was never going to take over summer league. Zac has been sound on defense minus the European over helping but I am happy he has been handling the ball more and he is playing like a pro.
