The Thunder had a fantastic offseason following a fantastic 2023-24 season. You could make a strong argument for them having the best off-season based on what they needed and where they’re at now.
Thanks for the video man, I'm an OKC degenerate so I love listening to everyone talk about them and give their opinions. Something to follow for me is Ajay Mitchell, Dillon Jones, and Topic from the draft. The first two I named off have been playing legitimately great in summer league and honestly seem to be ready to contribute to the team already. This is important for a top team to rotate in as they lose players cause they can't afford them. Presti is a draft savant, he knows how to get the best value at the pick he has. Didn't even mention how Topic will make an impact either. It's a fun time to be a thunder fan!
Hartenstein can still start OKC just need to put him at the PF spot because they need to add another faciliting connector but also I expect Coach Daignault to play Hartenstein over 30 minutes a game since Isaiah can still fit with the Thunder's 5 out system because when Hartenstein came into the league he was known as a stretch big he just couldnt show it on the other teams especially new york where thibs didn't require him to do so.
But in the Clippers they explored his shooting potential I bet OKC is banking on developing him futher or unlock his ceiling as a big man since Isaiah just turned 26 this year by the end of his contract he is just around 28-29 plus he played before with SGA & Lu Dort in the Nike Hoop Summit.
A lineup of
SGA Dort JDub iHart Chet
Is nasty because both JDub and Dort can play their natural roles now by adding Isaiah into the starting frontcourt.
Second comment. Ihart said in his first interview, his roll will expand with the thunder. Expect more 3’s. In His 3rd year his value will be outrageous.
What I am most afraid of is that Ihart or Caruso aren’t starters. We need to find a 2 guard, Isiah Joe isn’t a starter, Wallace isn’t ready and Wiggins isn’t a starter. As a die hard OKC fan since 2008, I think we need a starter cause we got everything else. Rotational 5 can affect in the playoffs, we saw how we struggle to scored in the playoffs 😅
Everyone has their opinion, but it is clear that the bulls got the better player, Giddy, who is 9 years younger, but the Thunder got a player, Caruso, that fits in their rotation better. Also, starting both Hartenstein and Holmgren would be counter to their style of play. They got a good backup center that can occasionally play alongside Holmgren.
I completely agree with your take. I see Isaiah Joe starting this year with Caruso coming off the bench to save his legs for the playoffs. Hartenstein will start or come off the bench as the matchups dictate.
People are vastly underestimating this Thunder offseason, we upgraded our weakest link in Giddey to another high % 3p shooting all defensive player (Caruso) and signed iHart to improve our biggest playoff weakness (non Chet minutes)

Chet at 4
Look at what Giddey is doing for team Australia. He just can’t help us. Its not a total lose for Chicago.

Paul George is the most inconsistent superstar right now. He is so overrated.

Let Caruso run the second team with Hartenstien !!
Giddy played better against USA than SGA and Joker.. he could be MVP..
Mavs levels above them sorry folks 😚
